The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1866: Chapter 1866: Off to the Hot Springs (Part 6)

By mid-May, the weather had become even hotter, and the cicadas in the trees began their incessant chirping, especially in the afternoon, when one might crave to hug a basin of ice and go nowhere.

But some people just couldn’t stay idle.

These days, Zou Qiuyue felt particularly agitated. Why? Because Aunt Shui had fallen ill.

Although Aunt Shui wasn’t a legitimate mother-in-law, merely a concubine of her father-in-law, she was still Gu Kun’s favored concubine and now the matriarch of the family.

As Gu Kun’s daughter-in-law, Zou Qiuyue naturally had to attend to her illness.

Previously, the household affairs were mostly managed by Aunt Shui, but now Zou Qiuyue had to take over, and she was busy beyond measure every day.

However, her inner longing, surprisingly, seemed to grow stronger and did not lessen in the slightest due to the busyness, especially intensifying at night.

Yet, Gu Sheng was getting on in years; two consecutive days were still manageable, but to engage with his wife every day was too much for his kidneys, and he eventually resorted to the excuse of going to the study.

And Zou Qiuyue became increasingly dissatisfied with Gu Sheng, not only because he couldn’t satisfy her, but also because after their encounters, she felt no comfort, only a gnawing emptiness inside, as if he couldn’t fulfill her needs at all...

Her mind would involuntarily conjure images of Deng Da, recalling his prowess...

Finally, after painstakingly enduring four or five days, Aunt Shui showed signs of recovery and didn’t need constant care anymore, with her herbal remedies reduced to one dose every two days.

”Aunt,” Zou Qiuyue sighed with relief, smiling as she spoke after serving her the medicine, ”now that your health is improving, I feel at ease too. However, I’ve heard the talisman water at Xiangshui Nunnery is quite effective, so I was thinking of going to request a bottle tomorrow...”

”It’s rare for you to be so considerate.” Aunt Shui nodded with a smile, ”It’s been hard on you these past few days, go ahead and take a break too.”

”Thank you, Aunt.” Zou Qiuyue felt like her heart was about to take flight. If it weren’t for maintaining courtesy and avoiding suspicion, she’d have run out the door.

Her cousin had sent her a letter days ago, saying he would be staying at the monastery for a while to recuperate, ostensibly to facilitate her secret meetings with him.

There were too many eyes and ears in the city after all.

Zou Qiuyue was more than eager for this.

Yang Ruxin received the news while watching Yu Qingge play mahjong with Wei Yao and a couple of others, Hong Yi and Lun Yi.

The mahjong set was something Yu Qingge had commissioned previously and brought along so casually when they came.

”Oh, it just occurred to me, the Empress Dowager gifted me a Hot Spring Manor, I don’t think I’ve visited it yet. Would you all like to go there for some fun?” Yang Ruxin re-entered the room after hearing Du Juan’s report.

”Yes!” Yu Qingge was the first to stand up, ”Let’s go, soak in the hot springs.”

As Zou Qiuyue’s carriage just left the city, Yang Ruxin and her party followed right after.

Coincidentally, Xiangshui Nunnery was also in the southern suburb of Beijing.

At that moment, in a room at the back of Xiangshui Nunnery, a man and a woman finally parted after a long entanglement, both drenched in sweat.

”The herbs from Master really do the trick.” Deng Da, naked, held the woman in his arms, not fully satisfied even after just finishing, and continued to knead her, ”I seem to have recovered better than before.”

”You rascal.” The woman, however, pushed him away and picked up the monk robes from the floor, ”Your cousin will be here soon. You’d better save some strength, otherwise, how will you satisfy her?”
