The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1732: Chapter 1732: Liking Someone (2)

Du Juan didn’t notice the change in Du Yunpeng’s expression and naturally cooperated as they left the inn.

However, Yang Ruxin noticed Du Yunpeng’s anomaly. It seems that Du Yunpeng is truly smitten. If these two become a couple, it wouldn’t be bad. But judging by Du Juan’s demeanor, Du Yunpeng still has a long way to go.

The three of them had just left the inn when they brushed past a low-key yet luxurious carriage.

The billowing curtain revealed a gap, showing a stern face inside—it was Qi Jingyun.

Yang Ruxin frowned slightly. She was right; that person had indeed come. She then quickened her pace and merged into the crowd on the street.

However, they hadn’t gone far when they heard the sound of horse hooves behind them. Then they saw Qi Jingyun leading a group, riding towards the city gates.

”Young lady?” Du Juan glanced back at Yang Ruxin. ”What should we do?”

”Let’s find another inn to stay at.” Yang Ruxin glanced at the figures riding away and quickly made a decision. If they headed to Beijing now, they might run into the King’s men. So it’s better to stay another day and leave tomorrow.

Haijin City, being a transportation hub, had many inns. But this time, the three found a relatively secluded inn and took two rooms.

Du Juan was a bit resistant, but since she and Du Yunpeng were pretending to be a couple, it wasn’t appropriate to say no to sharing a room.

”Get a good night’s sleep tonight. We’ll leave after breakfast tomorrow,” Yang Ruxin said with a chuckle, looking at the two of them, before heading to her room next door.

”You sleep on the bed, I’ll take the night watch.” Du Yunpeng glanced at Du Juan and then turned to the door.

”I’ll take over in the second half of the night.” Du Juan wasn’t pretentious, she simply lay down and closed her eyes.

Du Yunpeng secretly glanced at the girl not far away, raised his hand to touch his chest, and realized this is what it feels like to have one’s heart moved. It seemed quite nice.

Before, though he once had a fiancée, and they had met, he clearly remembered the situation when he met Meng Keran. Although there was joy, he felt calm. Later, when she broke off the engagement, he only felt anger—angry at her betrayal, but he didn’t mourn or feel heartbroken over losing her.

But now, he finally understood that this is what it feels like to genuinely like someone—as if a small hand inside his heart was gently scratching... Just looking at her filled him with joy, and when she wasn’t there, he felt empty inside...

As Du Juan, who had her eyes closed, suddenly opened them.

She just took a glance, but when she saw that the other was closing his eyes, she boldly stared back. Unexpectedly, her gaze met Du Yunpeng’s eyes, startling him. He blushed with slight panic and quickly averted his eyes, turning to look at the door.

Du Juan wasn’t foolish; on the contrary, due to the mission she bore, she was more sensitive than most. Later, following her father while on the run, she became even more vigilant. Hence, she could sense Du Yunpeng’s attention on her.

What young girl doesn’t dream of love?

Du Juan was beautiful, and now only eighteen. Her previous life and mission left little room for other thoughts. But these past two years had been more relaxed, allowing her to dream about life. Yet, she never thought that man could be Du Yunpeng. Why? Because she always considered him an older brother, and Du Yunpeng always treated her no differently than Du Man.
