The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1697: Chapter 1697: The Urgent Task (5)

Afterwards, Tang Wanqian handed the ”Tang Sect Poison” book to Yang Ruxin. However, this book was much more profound, so he didn’t let her study it immediately. At the very least, she needed to memorize and understand the books he had given her earlier. After all, poison from insects is different from traditional poisons like arsenic. The former is considered living poison, whereas the latter is dead poison. The difference between them is significant.

After becoming an apprentice, for Yang Ruxin, it was merely having an additional master. Apart from this, there wasn’t much change for the time being.

Lunch was quite lively, and during the meal, the topic of Fang Tianze and Yu Qingge’s engagement was brought up.

However, next month, Fang Tianze had to participate in the county exam. If he succeeded, he would go on to the academy exam in September. The schedule was quite tight, so there was no time for a wedding this year. However, a proper engagement was necessary. This way, Yuan Mengzhu could have a legitimate reason to keep Yu Qingge by her side.

Naturally, Tang Wanqian did not object. After all, he trusted the character of the Fang Family, especially seeing how Yuan Mengzhu treated her granddaughter like her own daughter. He had no reason to worry.

Thus, they decided to arrange the engagement in March, and the marriage in February next spring.

After getting married, it would still be over a year before the provincial exam. By then, Yu Qingge accompanying him to the Prefectural City for the exam would be a logical progression.

After smoothly discussing the arrangements, lunch concluded. After sending the Fang Family off, Tang Wanqian stopped Yang Ruxin: ”I need to leave for a while, but I need to borrow a few people from you.” He had been missing for over a decade, and even if his former close aides were still around, he couldn’t be sure they hadn’t had a change of heart. Therefore, he had to be cautious.

”Where are you going?” Yang Ruxin frowned.

”Shu Region.” Tang Wanqian didn’t hide it from Yang Ruxin. ”I can’t let Keke get married without any dowry, but right now, aside from a few poisons and some insects that I’ve produced, I have nothing.” Even his food and drinks were provided by his apprentice.

”Lending you some people is no problem, but Master, I figure your possessions are within the Tang Sect. Can you get in and out without alerting them?” Yang Ruxin frowned. ”And right now, we only know a little about Tang Kun’s situation in the Tang Sect. If by chance... ”

”For self-preservation, I believe I’m still capable.”

”Alright, even if you’re okay, can you guarantee that once the other side knows you’re alive, they won’t track you? Won’t they search for you? If they come here then, do you think you’ll still have peaceful days?”

”Then...”

”I’ll take care of the dowry for now. We’ll deal with it when we return to sort out the family matters. If you feel bad then, just give me a share...”

”Xinxin makes sense.” Dao Xuzi also nodded. ”Before you have absolute certainty, it’s best not to show yourself lightly. And the utmost priority now is to teach Xinxin all your skills...”

Tang Wanqian remained silent for a moment, then sighed: ”Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Yang Ruxin breathed a sigh of relief. She was truly worried that the old man would insist on going his own way.

On this side, Tang Wanqian and Dao Xuzi went back to the courtyard together, while Yang Ruxin thought about taking a look at the fields. Now that she was a landlord, she couldn’t just be a hands-off shopkeeper. But as soon as she stepped out, she saw Liang Tie standing by the roadside.

”Brother Tie Dan, what are you doing here?” Yang Ruxin looked at Liang Tie and noticed that his complexion was much better than a few days ago. At least his spirits had lifted, suggesting he might have truly figured things out.
