The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1690: Chapter 1690: Persuasion (4)

”What’s wrong with Brother Tie Dan? Is he still unable to let go or is he stuck in his thoughts?” Yang Ruxin frowned.

”I don’t know.” Xiaoyu sighed, ”Since he came back yesterday, he’s shut himself in his room. It’s been a whole day and night without eating or drinking.”

Yang Ruxin frowned, and just then, Aunt Xinghua came out of the house with a bowl of rice, her face full of worry. However, when she saw Yang Ruxin, she forced a smile, ”Xinxin is here, come sit inside.” But the smile was rather forced.

”Aunt Xinghua.” Yang Ruxin walked over and took the bowl of rice, ”Let me try talking to Brother Tie Dan.”

”You...” Aunt Xinghua sighed but didn’t stop her.

Aunt Xinghua’s house used to be three main rooms with an additional side room, but after making some money, they renovated and expanded it. Now it has four main rooms, and they’ve already acquired land from the village, with plans to start building a new house next spring for their son’s wedding, right next to the houses of Yang Xiaoliu and Liang Xiaoyu.

Liang Tie lives in the westernmost room, next to the main hall.

”Brother Tie Dan, it’s Yang Ruxin.” Yang Ruxin went over and knocked on the door, ”Can I come in?”

The room was silent for a long time, but after Yang Ruxin spoke, there was finally a sound, and before long, the door was opened.

Liang Tie’s eyes were sunken, and he even had stubble, looking thinner than before.

But after he opened the door, he turned around and went back to the kang (a heated bed platform).

Yang Ruxin frowned, followed him in, but didn’t close the door, as it would be improper for an unmarried man and woman to be alone, which could hurt her reputation if word got out.

”Are you blaming me?” Yang Ruxin put the bowl of rice on the edge of the kang, then pulled a chair to sit down, frowning at Liang Tie, ”Blaming me for exposing the hypocrisy of the Qiu siblings? Blaming me for revealing the true nature of the woman in your heart, wounding your pride?”

Liang Tie opened his mouth, but due to not having eaten or drunk for a whole day and night, his throat was dry, and he couldn’t make any sound. However, he shook his head.

”Brother Tie Dan, you know my situation well. It’s been hard for me to get where I am today.” Yang Ruxin sighed softly, ”When we were in trouble, you helped us without expecting anything in return. Ever since I opened my eyes that time, I’ve been thinking, as long as I have the ability, I want the people who were good to me to have a good life too...”

”Initially, some people noticed the filth of the Qiu siblings, but they didn’t dare to tell you, fearing it would be a thankless task and they’d offend you instead.” Yang Ruxin gave a bitter smile, ”Do you think I’m not afraid? To be honest, I am. Whether you’re well or not doesn’t really affect me. At most, I’ll take more care of Uncle Youcai and Aunt Xinghua, but I chose to step forward because I can’t watch you continue down the wrong path, be made a fool of, and have the silver you earned through hard work benefit that kind of woman before your own parents...”

Liang Tie’s face turned red, the shame in his eyes was evident.

”But Liang Tie, you should know, wherever there’s profit, there’s bound to be good and evil and contention. Gu Qingheng is no ordinary person, and as my business grows, it’s bound to get in the way of many people... So, even though I don’t harm others, there are countless people who want to harm me. I suspect the Qiu family’s matter is likely a retaliation against me. There were many instances before, only this time, they chose to target those around me...”
