The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1412: Chapter 1412: Cooking (4)

In the kitchen, the cook Mrs. Ding and Cheng Fofo were preparing ingredients for lunch. Upon seeing Yang Ruxin enter, they hurriedly stood up and greeted her: ”Miss, is there something you would like to eat?”

”Today, I’ll cook the lunch,” Yang Ruxin said with a smile, taking an apron. ”But do let me know if there’s anything you would like to eat.”

Mrs. Ding was taken aback.

Cheng Fofo, however, was thrilled. She had heard from Yang Miao before that the young lady’s cooking was exceptionally delicious, but she had never had the chance to taste it. Today she was going to have a feast. She quickly nudged Mrs. Ding: ”Auntie, let’s help out.” Then, grinning at Yang Ruxin, she said, ”Xinxin, I want to eat that boiled meat slices Yang Miao mentioned before.”

”Sure,” Yang Ruxin reached into her bag and pulled out some chili peppers. ”I guarantee it’ll make you crave for more.”

Mrs. Ding knew at once that the Miss wasn’t joking this time, she was really going to cook. Mrs. Ding had seen her cook before, but it had been simple dishes that hadn’t been very impressive. She was curious, would today be different?

Yang Ruxin wasn’t afraid of people watching. After instructing several people to get the ingredients ready, she lit two stoves and busied herself with frying, stir-frying, and deep frying for nearly an hour. Ten dishes and a soup were completed, each with a generous portion. As soon as they came out of the kitchen, they were divided into three plates. There were over twenty people in the Jinxiu Courtyard, including the servants, so they would need to sit at three tables for the meal.

Boiled meat slices, spicy carp, hot and sour potato strips... Each dish was mouth-watering.

She even made a large bowl of cold noodles.

According to the ancient lunar calendar, the end of April was around early June in previous lives, and the whole country was entering summer, with very high temperatures, so eating cold noodles was definitely refreshing.

Mrs. Ding had been a cook for twenty years and considered herself skilled in cooking, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been selected by the old master Dong to be in Jinxiu Courtyard. But after watching Yang Ruxin’s busy session, she had to admit that she didn’t have much advantage compared to this young miss because she saw several cooking methods for the first time, like the ”nine turns of large intestines,” which is usually a poor man’s food. Yet the Miss had specifically found and cooked it, and it smelled really delicious...

At mealtime, Yang Ruxin arranged for three round tables to be set under the osmanthus tree in the courtyard, and then everyone in the entire Jinxiu Courtyard gathered to eat.

In ancient times, hierarchy was very strict, the distinction between masters and servants was extremely clear. Even the most benevolent master wouldn’t literally dine with servants, at most, they might share some dishes.

Therefore, everyone was very restrained, not daring to sit down.

”You all should sit down. As long as everyone does their part properly and knows when to come forward or step back in front of outsiders, behind closed doors, our young lady has never cared about these formalities,” Yang Miao spoke up seeing everyone hesitating. ”The young lady has personally cooked for everyone, so she doesn’t consider anyone here as an outsider. Let me tell you, our whole family was bought by the young lady. We thought we were just servants, but after coming to Yang Family, I realized that my life is better than that of many common young ladies. So, let’s not let down the young lady’s kindness...”

”That’s right, everyone please sit down and eat together. You’ve all worked hard these days,” Dong Wenxiu also hurriedly invited everyone, ”Xinxin’s cooking is indeed delicious. You’re all in for a treat today. It’s a pity Du Man and Du Juan couldn’t make it...”
