The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 474: Chapter 474: It’s okay now (3)_1

”Stop nagging, you’ve already said you were introduced by my man, so naturally, I won’t go back on my word.” Yang Ruxin waved her hand, ”So now, you better go to sleep.” She was still concerned about seeing off Dabai, even though she had said she wouldn’t go, but she felt a bit uneasy not checking on him.

Qi Jingyi happily strolled away.

Once the Gu Family’s courtyard gate had closed, Yang Ruxin finally breathed a sigh of relief, then bolted towards the dilapidated house. Just as she reached the doorway, a white light pounced at her.

Yang Ruxin reached out to hug Dabai’s large head and gave it a rub, then checked over its body, finding not a single issue, before releasing it, ”Go on then.”

Suddenly, Dabai opened its mouth to let out a long howl, licked Xiaobai who was beside it, and then dashed away swiftly. In the blink of an eye, it reached the foot of the mountain, followed by a tiger’s roar that startled the birds in the nearby woods into flapping into the air. The white figure had completely vanished. After a while, another howl echoed but this time the sound was very distant...

And then there was silence.

Xiaobai nuzzled Yang Ruxin’s trouser leg and whimpered twice.

”Your mother has gone off to claim some territory for you; grow up quickly, then you can take over her mantle, and she can enjoy her retirement...” Yang Ruxin ruffled Xiaobai’s head, ”Now, let’s go back to sleep.”

However, Xiaobai suddenly stretched its head out and let out a howl—it was a wolf’s call!

”That’s enough, your mother just howled three times, now you howl again, do you want to scare the villagers to death?” Yang Ruxin flicked Xiaobai’s forehead, ”Hurry up and go home.”

Xiaobai whimpered twice and then turned to run home.

But even before taking two steps, a series of wolf howls came from the distant mountains.

Xiaobai instantly bared its teeth at Yang Ruxin and then responded with a howl of its own.

Yang Ruxin blew away the hair on her forehead, ”Are we done now?”

Xiaobai had no choice but to run back home, knowing that upsetting Sister Xin could have grave consequences.

Thankfully, the wolf howls in the mountains stopped soon after. Otherwise, if they had continued, she was sure that there would be a village meeting tomorrow, since there had been incidents of wolves descending from the mountains and attacking people before.

After walking just a short distance, she saw someone running towards her: ”Xinxin? Is that you? Are you alright?” It was Xun Hui, coming with a stick in hand.

”Why did you run out here?” Yang Ruxin frowned, but she also spotted the fleeting figures in the distance, it was Gu Yao and a few others. They were likely worried about real tigers and wolves coming down from the mountains and had followed secretly.

However, since they didn’t show themselves, she didn’t greet them.

”I heard the tiger’s roar and the wolf’s howl, I was scared...” Out of breath, Xun Hui swallowed and then revealed a relieved smile, ”You’re unharmed, that’s good...”

Yang Ruxin’s heart softened instantly, this woman really made her feel a mix of love and frustration. Maybe the old man was right, her own attitude could perhaps change a little too, making it easier for them to accept her. She then walked over to take the stick, ”I won’t get hurt, if you hear beasts in the future, make sure to put your own safety and the kids’ first. I’ll definitely be fine... If you come out, you’ll just make things harder for me, understand?”

”But...” Xun Hui wanted to say something, but thinking of her eldest daughter’s resolute nature, she eventually just nodded, ”Understood.”
