The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 396: Chapter 396: If You’re Sick, See a Doctor (Second Update)_1

”Dad, Ruhuai is still so young...” Feng Caie’s heart ached at the sight, and she hurried over to hold her son in her arms, ”Otherwise, hit me instead...”

Yang Peili could only let go.

”Why are you hitting Ruhuai?” Yang Anshi inside the house could no longer hold back, ”Why not hit those with ill intentions? Ruhuai, come here, my dear darling...”

Taking the opportunity, Feng Caie carried her son into the room, but out of spite, she didn’t go to Yang Anshi’s room, but rather returned to her own. However, it wasn’t long before the heart-wrenching cries of Yang Ruohuai could be heard from the room, along with the sound of tables and chairs being overturned.

”Dani, Xiaofeng, come on in.” Yang Peili’s smile was somewhat sheepish, ”Take a seat inside. Your grandma is not feeling well... Your second uncle and Rusong went to the Feng family village to deliver festival gifts, and your fourth uncle...” He couldn’t finish the sentence.

”If grandma isn’t feeling well, then we should go find a doctor to have a look,” said Yang Ruxin with a smile, ”But that shout just now sounded pretty robust to me.” Then she took Xiaofeng’s hand and walked into the main room. She knew where everyone else had gone: Yang Baichuan was taking his eldest son, soon-to-be Scholar Yang Rusong, to give gifts to his father-in-law and also to receive some advice, since the old Feng head was, after all, a seasoned Scholar.

But Yang Baifu also went to the same village, Dong Family Village, where the father-in-law lived, but not to give gifts. Instead, he went to meet with Widow Lv.

Yang Peili chuckled awkwardly twice.

Rural houses are generally made up of a row of four to six rooms, usually with only one door connecting to the courtyard, while the rooms inside are interconnected.

The main room of the Yang Family old house is very large, with a large shrine table facing the entrance, and long benches beside it. The doors to the bedrooms on either side are usually left open during the day, but just now Feng Family closed the door to her room after she entered, while the door on the other side remained open. Yang Anshi leaned against the kang bed, squinting outwards. After shouting earlier, she probably felt it was inappropriate, and now she was very quiet.

Yang Baihe and Yang Ruyu were both in their respective rooms and didn’t come out.

”Grandma, we’ve come to bring you festival gifts,” Yang Ruxin announced loudly, pretending not to notice anything, and started taking out the items from the basket, placing them on the table one by one, ”We prepared these in accordance with the village’s New Year’s offerings, but we tightened our belts and bought an extra packet of brown sugar to bring over...”

”Grandparents, happy holidays,” Xiaofeng also said loudly and handed the jar of wine he was carrying to Yang Ruxin; it was too heavy for him to lift onto the table due to his small stature.

Yang Anshi cracked open her eyelids and let out a grunt, though it was unclear whether it came from her mouth or her nose.

Yang Peili sighed, ”The kids have come over, show some acknowledgment as an elder.”

”What acknowledgment is there to show?” Yang Anshi finally spoke up, ”They’ve grown wings and are strong now, why would they care about this old thing? Didn’t they just hit Ruhuai? They sure are tough...”

Yang Ruxin ignored the sour words and instead smiled at Yang Anshi, ”Grandma, if you’re not feeling well, you must find a doctor to take a look. If Uncle Li can’t handle it, then go to the town or even the city. We can’t delay it, because if we do, it could become incurable, and then it would be too late to treat.” Then, taking Xiaofeng’s hand, she walked out.
