The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 388: Chapter 388: All Talents (Two Updates)_1

Zhou Xiao subconsciously crossed her legs and thought to herself that the young girl was truly fierce.

”Mengmeng, the more you talk, the less sense you make!” Erni helplessly glanced at Sanni and said, ”With that being said...”

”Mengmeng is right,” Yang Ruxin looked at Erni, ”Why keep such a man uncastrated if not for decoration? Just like the ingrate Uncle Si, would we continue to toil like oxen and horses for him?”

Just as she said this, Xiaobai suddenly bared his teeth at Yang Ruxin and even lifted a paw to scratch at her pant leg.

Yang Ruxin quickly bent down to pick up the little thing, ”I wasn’t talking about your dad; I was talking about those bad wolves.”

Xiaobai then rolled his eyes and lay down in the crook of her arm.

Yang Ruxin broke into a sweat. Did this little guy have to be so sensitive? However, it seemed that she would have to refrain from speaking ill of wolves or tigers, especially bad ones, in the future.

”What’s wrong with Xiaobai?” The others, unaware of the silent communication between Yang Ruxin and Xiaobai, came over out of curiosity to poke Xiaobai’s head.

”It’s nothing, he probably just misses his mother,” Yang Ruxin stroked Xiaobai’s head.

People then began to gather around Xiaobai to comfort him, and the previous topic was dropped.

However, Yang Ruxin was still planning to find an opportunity to talk seriously with Erni. It would be best to let her learn a lesson. That girl was too much like Xun Hui, too easily swayed by sentiment, which wasn’t good. But finding the right moment for her to change her way of thinking would take time. She would have to be patient.

After a busy period, most families had nearly finished their fieldwork and began to have more free time, starting to prepare for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Of course, there were those who weren’t efficient in their work, like the tenants of the old Yang Family house. Without the members of the main household toiling away, the rest tended to be lazy and shifty. It wasn’t until the old man Yang lost his temper and even Yang Anshi herself went down to the fields that the planting was able to be completed, possibly not until after Mid-Autumn otherwise.

But fortunately, by the day before the Mid-Autumn Festival, all the seeds had finally been sown.

Yang Ruxin didn’t care whether the old house was planted with crops or not; she and her younger siblings were busy preparing festival gifts.

Chinese people have always placed great importance on food, and the food culture in China is extensive and profound. Although Yang Ruxin was not a gourmet, she liked to eat well. Now that she was running her own household, despite the still harsh conditions, she didn’t want to skimp on food. She always believed that only when one had eaten well could one be in good spirits to do anything.

So, these days everyone was treated to culinary delights – one minute they were frying radish balls, the next they were making eggplant and potato patties, then wrapping dumplings and wontons, and if Zhou Xiao and the others caught fish, they would make fish balls and fish soup... In short, if she thought it was something she could make, she made it, greatly improving the variety of food for everyone.

As a direct result, Gu Yao would wheel Gu Qingheng over to the next door at meal times.

The Feng Family matriarch wasn’t bothered at all. If you don’t want to eat what I cook, that’s fine. She would simply bring ingredients over to Yang Ruxin’s house for meals every day.

And the large round table and the dozen or so chairs that Yang Ruxin had previously made were put to great use.

Their house was always bustling with activity, and smiles were always present on the children’s faces.

Many people in the village who saw the change in the children were amazed. They thought that living apart really made a difference. Of course, there were those with less charitable thoughts who said some sour words, but no one paid them any mind, and they soon lost interest in talking.
