I'm Trapped in the Block

Chapter 496: Chapter 493: Star Cluster Creatures

The spinning, ribbon-like creatures surrounded the two of them, and the dots of light grew more and more numerous.

Red and blue dots of light passed through their bodies before flying back to the creatures. In an instant, their minds were linked.

A deep, ethereal blue band of light slowly formed. The movement of the light dots became more regular, and the thoughts they perceived grew increasingly clear.

After establishing a connection with these creatures, Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty actually became less nervous.

They sensed no hostility in the thoughts of these nebula creatures. Their minds seemed incredibly simple, filled only with curiosity and a faint excitement, as tranquil as a placid lake.

In contrast, it was the thoughts of Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty that were a chaotic mess, like stones tossed into the lake, causing all the surrounding dots of light to glow red.

This mental turmoil made the surrounding nebula creatures nervous. They had to continuously release dots of light to stabilize the band, strengthening the connection.

Neither Li Luo nor Zhou Dynasty spoke. Instead, they focused on carefully perceiving the thoughts of the strange creatures...

’So chaotic, so chaotic.’ The creatures were completely overwhelmed by the onslaught of human thoughts.

’They said they’re looking for the Eye of the Stars. What is the Eye of the Stars?’

’I don’t understand. She said she’s preparing to have the iron block attack us. Why attack us? What’s an iron block?’

’I heard it clearly! The iron block is that big metal Block up there! Go connect to it, quickly! Don’t let it attack us!’

Hearing Li Luo’s thoughts, the star-cluster creatures grew extremely tense. The nebulas of their bodies spun violently, spewing countless red dots of light that they passed among themselves.

Immediately, several of the ribbon-like creatures flew into the air and wrapped themselves around the Block.

At the same time, innumerable dots of light sprayed out, falling upon the Block like raindrops.

And then... they were blocked.

’We can’t get in! It’s blocking the connection!’

’How can something block a connection? It’s impossible for something to be unable to connect! Try again!’

So, countless more dots of light sprayed out. The star-cluster creatures even wrapped their own ethereal blue bands around the Block, binding it tightly. Myriad dots of light tried to pass through the metal wall, but it was all in vain.

The metal wall was like an impenetrable fortress, completely preventing the intrusion of the light dots.

’What are they doing?’ Mo Ling was already finding it hard to restrain his urge to attack.

Mo Ling had been about to attack the moment the creatures surrounded Li Luo, but she had gestured for him to hold off.

’What is this light?’

Mo Ling watched the red dots, which had already gathered into a stream of light, strike the metal wall, and he grew worried.

So, he directly teleported a portion of the light dots into the Block.

But to his surprise, the moment the dots entered the Block, they vanished instantly.

’Hm?’

Unconvinced, Mo Ling ”stole” another batch, this time teleporting the dots of light directly into his own hand.

However, it was the same this time. The dots of light flashed and disappeared in an instant.

Mo Ling felt nothing at all.

’What is this stuff?’

Mo Ling didn’t know what Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty were experiencing, nor could he hear the creatures’ communication.

From his perspective, they were surrounded by a group of strange creatures that were relentlessly attacking them with dots of light, even though the dots didn’t seem to cause any harm.

Meanwhile, Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty, immersed in the linked consciousness, looked to Mo Ling as if they were entranced, no different from when they had first seen the starlight.

And so, Mo Ling decided to attack directly.

But just as he was about to place the teleportation frame over the star-cluster creatures, he saw the starlight on their bodies suddenly dim. Then, as if facing a mortal enemy, they fled from the Block.

It wasn’t just the ones near the Block; the star-cluster creatures surrounding Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty also began to flee rapidly. As they ran, the glow of their bodies faded, and they shed dots of light as if they were worthless.

This time, the dots of light could no longer maintain the stable band. They scattered frantically, every single one glowing bright red, darting about the air chaotically like headless chickens.

The originally ethereal blue band turned completely red, whipping around like a lash before striking the Block and being completely absorbed by the metal wall.

Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty also had strange expressions on their faces, as if they had heard some bizarre sound.

They both glanced at the Block in unison. The dots of light within their bodies also fled rapidly, but they dimmed and vanished before getting far.

In their perception, the once-calm lake of thoughts was now churning violently, as if a void had opened in its center, devouring all the water.

’Run! The Block is attacking us!’

’This is terrifying, terrifying! It’s going to eat us all! Why can’t I escape? Why can’t I escape?’

’Because we’re falling into a valley! It’s an abyss of consciousness—empty, with nothing inside...’

’I understand! It’s consciousness pressure! Consciousness from a high-pressure zone spontaneously moves toward a low-pressure zone, but why can the low-pressure zone never be filled?’

’I don’t know! I feel so empty... so empty...’

These struggling voices gradually faded. The dots of light escaped from their two bodies and flew uncontrollably toward the Block, plunging into the metal wall.

The star-cluster creatures didn’t get far before all the dots of light were pulled from their bodies. They flew spontaneously toward the Block, the reddish dots converging into a river that flowed into the valley.

Mo Ling couldn’t hear these voices.

What he saw was a completely different scene: countless dots of light were assailing him, crashing violently against the metal wall in a suicidal attack.

’Aha! So you’re still attacking me!’

In Mo Ling’s eyes, the fleeing star-cluster creatures were merely making a tactical retreat, hiding off to the side to launch a sneak attack.

Since the dots of light disappeared after being teleported into the Block anyway, Mo Ling no longer held back. He aimed at the surging river of red light and activated his teleportation.

’Why do they get more aggressive the more I teleport them?’

Mo Ling noticed the dots of light were getting faster and more frantic.

But what Li Luo and Zhou Dynasty heard was a different voice:

’The consciousness pressure is growing stronger! We can’t escape!’

These voices were filled with despair and soon became indistinct.

As for the star-cluster creatures, they were sucked back before they could even return to the ancient trees. The dots of light were stripped clean from their bodies, and the star-clusters themselves slowly dimmed.

As the protection of the starlight gradually receded, the creatures’ true forms were revealed.

Beneath the dimming star-clusters was some kind of viscous, transparent liquid.

Zhou Dynasty moved closer, crouched down, and poked the pool of liquid with a stick. The stick left a deep indentation in the liquid, which then slowly healed itself.

He lifted the stick, sniffed it, and said with some surprise:

”Resin?”
