I'm Trapped in the Block

Chapter 463: Chapter 460: Sky Island

”Our current location is...”

Li Luo frowned, looking at the electronic screen in her hands.

Sky Islands didn’t stay in one fixed position; they often drifted with the clouds and mist. Although the map was updated frequently, it still couldn’t keep up with the ever-changing movements of the clouds.

Moreover, the Sky Island they were on now didn’t seem to be documented.

Perhaps because their method of reaching the fourth level was somewhat unusual, this exceptionally calm Sky Island didn’t match any of the ones in the database.

While searching, Li Luo observed her surroundings.

The clouds and mist here were relatively thin, and some other Sky Islands were visible in the distance. However, none of those islands were as large as the one they were on, nor was their vegetation as rich. Most of them looked more like bare rocks.

In contrast, the Sky Island they were on not only had lush vegetation but also an excellent environment. The thin clouds seemed to only circle the island’s perimeter, and the temperature and humidity on the island itself were extremely comfortable.

There was even a dense forest in the center of the Sky Island. As the island moved, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves with a soft, SHUSHING sound.

While Li Luo was searching for information, Mo Ling had already expanded his vision, which had grown in range again.

They were on a grassy patch at the edge of the Sky Island, with the boundless Sea of Clouds on one side and the dense forest on the other.

Mo Ling’s vision probed downward, but even when it reached its limit, he couldn’t see the bottom of the Sky Island.

’What a huge Sky Island.’

Mo Ling was fascinated. He had never imagined he would get to see one of these floating islands, the kind that only appeared in fantasy stories, with his own eyes.

’I just wonder how they fly.’

Mo Ling saw some faint updrafts beneath the Sky Island that gently blew fallen pieces of rock back up, but these currents were clearly not strong enough to support the massive island.

After studying it for a moment, Mo Ling turned his attention in another direction.

His vision entered the Sea of Clouds far from the Sky Island.

To Mo Ling’s surprise, the seemingly thin Sea of Clouds was violently discharging electricity. Purple lightning snaked through the mist, splitting the air and producing thick, dark smoke.

The dark smoke quickly became part of the clouds and mist, which began to gather electricity once more.

’So dangerous. You can’t even tell from the outside...’

If he hadn’t extended his vision into that layer of clouds, Mo Ling would never have discovered how terrifying it was within.

After observing for a while, Mo Ling shifted his focus to the dense forest.

The moment his vision entered the forest, Mo Ling witnessed a strange scene:

A huge boulder was chasing a bug.

Mo Ling thought he had seen wrong and quickly checked again.

’That’s right. It’s definitely a rock chasing a bug.’

It was an oval-shaped stone, like an egg, rolling continuously as it tried to crush the frantically fleeing bug.

The bug used all its strength, squirming its clumsy body, but the stone still drew closer and closer.

Finally, the relentless stone rolled onto the bug’s body, crushing it viciously.

After the stone rolled past, only a shapeless puddle of pulp was left on the ground.

The stone was also covered in the bug’s remains.

After turning around, the stone returned to where the bug had died and smeared the bug’s juices onto itself.

The juices seeped into the stone, and it began to tremble as if it had eaten something delicious.

’Is this predation?’ Mo Ling watched, dumbfounded.

Could that stone be a living creature?

Mo Ling quickly submerged his vision into the stone’s body, but after a look around, it was just ordinary rock. Besides the fact that it could move, it was no different from any other stone he had ever seen.

’The Mineral Race from the Thorn Stone Forest was like this too. Could this be a similar type of creature?’

As Mo Ling was pondering, a Black Shadow suddenly fell over the stone.

Immediately after, an immense force shattered the stone to pieces.

Just like that, the strange stone creature turned to dust.

A claw that looked like a tree branch reached out, picked up the stone dust, and sprinkled it over its body.

Mo Ling was stunned. The thing that had smashed the stone was actually a bush.

The bush was supporting itself on tough roots, standing on the ground. Its branches had transformed into claws, and its leaves trembled nonstop, creating a rather bizarre sight.

After sprinkling all the dust on itself, the bush, like the stone before it, trembled in enjoyment for a moment before beginning to move rapidly through the forest.

’It’s moving this way.’

As fate would have it, the bush was moving toward the edge of the Sky Island—exactly in their direction.

Mo Ling considered dealing with the strange bush right away, but after a glance at Li Luo, he decided to let it come to them. This way, Li Luo could look up information about it.

The bush moved quickly, its tough root system twisting rapidly, and it soon reached the edge of the forest.

Hearing the strange rustling of leaves, Li Luo immediately looked over.

The moment she saw the bush, Li Luo froze as well.

But she quickly recovered and backed away.

When the bush saw Li Luo’s movement, it reacted as if it had seen something incredibly tempting. It charged madly toward her, its branches fanning out like a peacock’s tail, brandishing themselves menacingly.

If it were a beast, this would be somewhat normal. But this was just a bush, only half a person’s height, utterly unremarkable—the kind you wouldn’t even glance at twice if you passed by. And now, it was attacking a human.

The more Li Luo looked, the stranger it seemed. She gripped the Purple wrist cord.

Just as she was about to pull the end of the cord, another figure shot out from the forest, charging straight for the bush.

Before she could get a clear look at the figure, she saw a gray object smash into the bush, knocking it flat on the ground.

Only then did Li Luo see clearly that it was a human.

He was wearing somewhat tattered combat gear and a protective mask that completely hid his face. All bundled up, he looked no different from the soldiers on the first level of the Abyss.

But what was strange was that he was holding a Longsword made of stone, which was what he had just used to knock down the bush.

He didn’t seem to have noticed Li Luo at the edge of the Sky Island, his gaze still fixed on the fallen bush.

”Finally caught you! Go on, try to run now!”

The voice from under the mask was full of energy, sounding like a vibrant young man.

He raised the stone Longsword and smashed it down hard on the bush, beating it until it could no longer move.

The man’s attacks had no real technique; he mostly just swung the Longsword wildly, occasionally throwing in a kick. But it was still enough to keep the bush pinned down.

”You wanna ambush me, huh?”

The man took aim at the bush’s main stem and forcefully thrust the stone Longsword down.

With a CRACK, the bush twitched a few times and then went still.
