Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 458: Chapter 380: Side Effects Chapter 458: Chapter 380: Side Effects Inside the side hall.

Su Yuan roughly explained the task situation to Xu Fengtian, including seeking out Antonios due to the mark inside Yang Aoshan, and encountering two Twelve Palace Star Envoys leading to a battle.

“Are you saying you encountered two Star Envoys?” Xu Fengtian asked in surprise.

Su Yuan nodded: “That’s right, Sagittarius and Aries.”

Xu Fengtian took a deep breath, his expression becoming serious. “To escape from the hands of two Twelve Palace Star Envoys, you truly deserve to be the top genius of Great Flame Academy, a Space Star Card Master…

Just in time, we currently lack intelligence on Aries. The power of prediction is indeed quite troublesome.”

Su Yuan asked: “Do we now have any intelligence on the Twelve Palace Star Envoys?”

“Yes, the Holy Temple Twelve Palaces have been quite active recently, so we have accumulated some intelligence.” Xu Fengtian slowly began to explain to Su Yuan.

“The Holy Temple, fully known as the Heresy Court, is a core institution of the Holy Temple, specialized in dealing with thorny targets that might threaten Qiguang, carrying out slaughter missions.

And the Twelve Palaces are a Shining Star-level organization recently established within the Holy Temple.

They recruit many Shining Star elites from various departments and forces of Qiguang to join the Holy Temple to receive the ‘Holy Blessing,’ and then select the strongest twelve.

Although established not long ago, they have gained a fearsome reputation across Qiguang and most of the northern region with overwhelming strength and ruthless methods.

Below the Radiant Moon level, few can resist the Twelve Palace Star Envoys.

Though there have not been many confrontations, based on current intelligence, it requires at least a First Level Special Envoy to pose any threat to a Twelve Palace Star Envoy.

As for those weaker… at this level, the number of ordinary opponents hardly matters.”

Yang Aoshan, hearing Xu Fengtian’s explanation, was increasingly astonished. Only now did she realize that the two opponents Su Yuan faced before coming back were actually so powerful.

Su Yuan nodded slightly, well aware of the strength of these Star Envoys after two confrontations.

“How do they compare to the seven Star Lords of my Sky Patrol Department?”

Xu Fengtian thought for a moment and said: “We need actual combat to know. Furthermore, the Twelve Palaces were established recently, and there seem to be considerable differences among Star Envoys. There also seems to be ongoing internal reshuffling.”

Su Yuan couldn’t help but recall the Virgo Star Envoy he defeated.

Although the opponent summoned a Radiant Moon-level Fusion Monster, it had many flaws which might be due to the opponent not mastering the power long enough to use it proficiently.

In comparison, this time, Sagittarius was obviously more troublesome…

After a moment of contemplation, Su Yuan asked: “Xu Envoy, since people of the Twelve Palaces are selected through the Holy Blessing, are there any side effects of this blessing?

Otherwise, enhancing soul power so much would be extraordinary…”

Xu Fengtian nodded: “Of course there are. According to intelligence, many who received the Holy Blessing failed during the process and were injured, some even died due to the collapse of their Soul Cards!

Besides, even if they succeeded, their Soul Cards would be overdrawn due to gaining soul power prematurely, and without any accidents, it would be hard for them to undergo further awakening and evolution.”

“I see…” Su Yuan nodded in realization.

If these are just Epic Star Cards, then it means they can’t break through to the King Level in the future, not even reaching the Burning Sun Level.

Therefore, the reason the Twelve Palace Star Envoys have such strong soul power is that they are sacrificing their future.

However, at the Shining Star level, they are indeed extremely powerful!

Xu Fengtian changed the subject: “If you have your task report ready, just hand it to the Task Hall duty officer later. You should receive the task evaluation within a day or two.

Additionally, since you completed this Three-star task, there shouldn’t be any tasks assigned to you in the short term, but if you want to earn battle merits, you can take tasks proactively.”

According to Xu Fengtian’s thoughts, a new Special Envoy like Su Yuan with extraordinary strength should be more eager to complete high-risk tasks than to cultivate alone.

This way, he could earn battle merits to exchange for treasures in the Star Storage Hall and make a name for himself in the Sky Patrol Department.

Su Yuan nodded and responded: “Understood.”

After chatting for a while, seeing that Xu Fengtian still had things to discuss with Yang Aoshan, Su Yuan prepared to take his leave.

“Su Yuan…” Yang Aoshan called out to Su Yuan but seemed unsure of what to say.

Su Yuan asked: “What’s the matter, Master Yang? Do you have anything else to instruct?”

Yang Aoshan hadn’t expected Su Yuan to leave so suddenly and, now having called out to him, didn’t know what to say.

Right… Barrier Books!

Yang Aoshan’s eyes lit up. She took out a Space Ring and handed it to Su Yuan: “Inside are some basic Barrier Books. I’ve made many annotations and also left my phone number. If you have any questions, call me anytime.”

“Oh?” Su Yuan took the ring, quickly checked it, and smiled, “Thank you very much.”

“Mm~”

After submitting the report and leaving the Task Hall, Su Yuan first went to the Military Supply Hall before returning to Zhu Yuan 777.

The Military Supply Hall is a place where goods are purchased using Star Stones, containing many commonly needed items for Star Card Masters.

Back at his residence, Su Yuan directly entered the Qingming Realm.

He walked a few steps and sat down facing Antonios, asking: “What are your plans for the future?”

Antonios had already thought about it. Aries was too mysterious, and he didn’t know the extent of her predictive power.

Staying in the north might mean being hunted. It would be safer to stay in the south for now.

Antonios raised his hand, taking out 100w Cent Star Stones—the amount given by Su Yuan.

“Here’s your 100w Star Stones. I still owe you 200w. I’ll sign a contract. Until I repay the remaining 200w, I will work for you.”

Su Yuan nodded. That was necessary.

Antonios bought his life with money and even had it on credit. The earlier situation was urgent, but now that things had settled, the contract had to be put in place.

After all, 200w was a significant amount, even for someone at the Radiant Moon level.

Su Yuan flicked his hand, taking out a contract book.

“This is a soul contract I just bought. I’ve already filled in the terms. Review it, and if there are no issues, sign it.”

Soul Contracts are high-level contract books. Forming a contract requires an oath with one’s soul. Breaking the contract would lead to soul backlash.

The soul contract Su Yuan bought at the Military Supply Hall for 10w Star Stones couldn’t be escaped, even by those at the Radiant Moon level.

Antonios reviewed the content carefully. It stated that until he repaid Su Yuan the 200w Cent Star Stones, he would work for him.

“No problem.”

Antonios readily agreed, and with his finger imbued with Star Power, he signed the soul contract.

With the contract completed, Su Yuan put it away and handed a Communication Talisman to Antonios.

“I’ll be staying at the Sky Patrol Department for the foreseeable future and shouldn’t have other tasks for a while.

You’re free to move, but you have one task: Help me find a Space Epic Star Card.

If you successfully find a star card, it will be counted as payment towards the star stones you owe.

Contact me with this Communication Talisman if you have any information.”

Antonios agreed: “Alright.”

Su Yuan then questioned Antonios about the Twelve Palaces.

Antonios wasn’t too clear about the specifics of the Twelve Palaces, as he hadn’t joined the Heresy Court.

However, the side effects of the “Holy Blessing” matched what Xu Fengtian had mentioned earlier.

Additionally, Antonios added that after receiving the Holy Blessing, the large influx of soul power could significantly alter a person’s personality.

This was why Antonios had refused the Holy Blessing.

After discussing for a while, Su Yuan escorted Antonios out of the Capitol City.

What he chooses to do next is up to him, as long as he is available when needed.

Upon returning to his residence, Su Yuan took out the ring given by Yang Aoshan. With a wave of his hand, numerous books and a notebook were spread out on the table…
