Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 459: Chapter 381: Barrier, New Module Chapter 459: Chapter 381: Barrier, New Module Su Yuan opened the notebook; it was written by Yang Aoshan over the past few days.

The thick notebook was already half-filled in just a few short days, the handwriting slender and neat, with a strong elegance.

“After fully understanding and digesting the ‘Barrier Basics,’ it’s best to read through ‘Introduction to Barrier’ and ‘Barrier Development.’ These three are all fundamental entry-level books, and I have annotated the important contents…

If you finish these three basic books, you can start reading ‘Ten Basic Barriers’ and try selecting one you are interested in to set up a barrier.

The ten basic barriers are all Level One barriers, but they cover most of the array theory knowledge, including large, small, superimposed, and compound arrays.

Of course, for all barrier masters studying array barriers, no matter which direction they want to specialize in later, mastering the ten basic barriers is a requirement.”

Su Yuan reopened the book “Barrier Basics,” and sure enough, compared to when he was at Yang Aoshan’s house, there were a lot more annotations.

Su Yuan looked at them one by one. Places where some confusion existed were almost all annotated.

Yang Aoshan, having been a teacher for more than a year, knew very well what could be difficult or confusing for beginners.

“Truly, Master Yang has put in a lot of effort,” Su Yuan quietly thanked Yang Aoshan and then carefully started reading.

Last time at Yang Aoshan’s house, Su Yuan didn’t look closely. The main purpose was to understand the way of barriers and see if it suited him, and if it suited his Qingming Realm.

This time, it was the official start of learning…

Compared to ordinary people learning barriers, Su Yuan had a huge advantage, which was “Left and Right Mutual Struggle.”

Left and Right Mutual Struggle could be said to be a top-level passive skill.

Its reason for allowing a star card master to cast different spells simultaneously was nothing but two points.

One was that the operation of star power was uninterrupted, and the other was having the ability to dual-task.

Dual-tasking, besides combat, could also have an auxiliary effect resulting in twice the outcome with half the effort in learning.

Su Yuan couldn’t read ten lines at a glance, but five or six lines at a time was no problem at all. Naturally, his learning speed was much faster than ordinary people’s…

The next day at noon, the task evaluation was out.

Su Yuan opened the Sky Patrol Black Card.

[Task]

[Level: Three-star (Confidential Level)]

[Details: Go to Qiguang, bring back Barrier Master Yang Aoshan]

[Rating: Good]

[Evaluation:

1. Successfully brought back Barrier Master Yang Aoshan.

2. Obtained some intelligence on the Twelve Palaces Aries abilities.

Overall, rated as good.]

[Note: The battle with the two star envoys could have been avoided, so it does not count as an extra score.]

[Rewards: 1. Battle Merit 2500, 2. A set of low stage array maps and related materials (need to be collected from the Task Hall)]

“Good… indeed it’s neither partial nor impartial.” Su Yuan nodded slightly.

Since this task was rated as three-star, then long distances and something like Yang Aoshan being marked were reasonable risks for a three-star task. Solving these normally counted as meeting the standard.

As for the two star envoys that came later, it was indeed an unexpected risk.

If the two star envoys had come for Yang Aoshan and Su Yuan stopped them and brought Yang Aoshan back, he could have been rated as excellent nine times out of ten.

But these two were after Antonios, beyond the task scope and something Su Yuan could have avoided.

Su Yuan himself chose to intervene, so naturally, it wouldn’t count towards the evaluation of bringing Yang Aoshan back.

However, because Su Yuan happened to gather some intelligence on Aries, it resulted in an extra “Good” rating.

“Besides, did Master Yang leave me something barrier-related?”

Su Yuan smacked his lips, only to say “sister” was thoughtful…

Originally Su Yuan planned to visit the Military Supply Hall to buy some items for arranging barriers when needed, but now it seemed temporarily unnecessary.

Su Yuan immediately went out to the Task Hall, collected the array map and materials left by Yang Aoshan, and returned directly.

Then, Su Yuan followed Yang Aoshan’s notes and continued to delve into barriers…

On the third day, Su Yuan finished “Barrier Basics”;

On the fifth day, Su Yuan finished “Introduction to Barrier”;

On the seventh day, Su Yuan finished “Barrier Development” and started studying the first barrier of the Ten Basic Barriers—the Flowing Mist Barrier.

On the twelfth day, in Qingming Realm.

On the ground, twelve Bronze-level Water Element Star Cores were placed in a certain pattern within a hundred-meter radius, forming a circle.

Su Yuan took a deep breath, then flew into mid-air, raising his hand to seal and projecting star power towards the barrier.

In an instant, many Water Element Star Cores connected in pairs, and within the hundred-meter radius, a thick layer of water mist arose, obscuring vision.

“Finally succeeded!”

A bit of joy appeared in Su Yuan’s eyes as he descended into the barrier.

Ruan Ruan followed in, curiously observing the misty domain of water light.

“Master, this doesn’t seem to be of much use,” Ruan Ruan said puzzledly.

Ruan Ruan gathered a bit of star power in her eyes to enhance her eyesight, seeing through the thin misty domain immediately.

Su Yuan laughed, “Of course, this is just the most basic Level One barrier. It can deal with Bronze level, but to obscure your vision would require a Fourth-level barrier.”

“Oh~” Ruan Ruan nodded, “So, Master, when will you reach Fourth Level?”

Su Yuan was pondering when he suddenly heard a long-lost prompt from the system in his heart:

“Level One barrier detected, Flowing Mist Barrier. Unlocking ‘Barrier’ module.”

A new module?

Su Yuan’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately opened the system panel.

Sure enough, after his personal panel, there was an additional section:

[Barrier Master]

[Level: Level One (Knowledge: 0%; Experience 0/5000)]

[Specialization: Large-scale (Level One)]

[Mastered Barriers: Flowing Mist Barrier (Level One)]

“Barriers are now in the system?!” Su Yuan was ecstatic after confirming.

It was like back when breathing techniques, once at the entry-level, could be enhanced using Star Dust.

And now barriers were the same. By setting up the Level One barrier, the system was activated, allowing enhancements through it.

“From this point of view, perhaps Alchemy Dao and Artifact Path are the same. As long as it’s a recognized path, reaching entry-level allows enhancements via the system.

The reason skills can be directly enhanced after embedding is that once a star card is embedded, it’s already at the ‘entry’ level.”

Su Yuan roughly understood.

“Still, even so, there seem to be differences…”

Su Yuan checked the newly appeared [Barrier] module.

Different from before, the barrier master’s level had two values behind it—

“Knowledge” and “Experience.”

Among them, knowledge was displayed as a percentage, while experience was a familiar precise progress bar.
