Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 450: Chapter 373 Refusal Chapter 450: Chapter 373 Refusal Hardiles City, a detached house several kilometers away from the academy.

In a basement over a hundred square meters, there was nothing except for a barrier that nearly occupied the entire underground space.

Inside the barrier, numerous elements were densely packed: gold, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, lightning, ice, light, and darkness—the Ten Constant Elements were all present!

Yang Aoshan’s research focused on the compound effects among multiple elements.

This barrier was Yang Aoshan’s most cherished creation. If this less-than-a-hundred-meter Barrier Model could achieve a breakthrough, Yang Aoshan might be able to use it as a foundation to construct a true Sixth-Level Barrier, thereby ascending to the rank of Barrier Master!

Back then, the reason Yang Aoshan came to the North was to fill the knowledge gaps regarding the “light” and “dark” elements.

After over a year, the combination of theory and experimentation led to progress that exceeded expectations in the study of the Barrier Model.

At present, Yang Aoshan was meticulously and cautiously dismantling the Barrier Model step by step.

Suddenly, the phone placed on the nearby small table rang.

“Hello?”

“Teacher Yang, the banquet is about to begin. When might you be arriving?” It was Colt, her student, on the other end of the line.

Yang Aoshan glanced at the time and realized it was already close to seven o’clock.

*She had been so preoccupied with dismantling the model that she had completely forgotten about this matter.*

If she dismantled the model quickly, she could return to Great Flame immediately. Yang Aoshan initially planned to decline outright but hesitated as the words reached her lips.

“Teacher Yang?” Colt inquired again.

Yang Aoshan said, “I’ll come by a little later.”

“Got it. Then we’ll be waiting for you~”

“No need, you all can start without me.”

“Oh, okay…” Colt was replying but seemed to be interrupted as someone else grabbed the phone.

“Teacher Yang, it’s Klaradak. How about I come to pick you up now?”

Hearing Klaradak’s voice, Yang Aoshan frowned slightly. “No, I’ll just take a cab and come by myself.”

“Alright then. Please hurry; everyone’s waiting for you!”

“Hmm, I know.” Yang Aoshan hung up.

In a villa estate in the outskirts of Hardiles City.

Klaradak stared at the disconnected phone call and breathed a small sigh of relief—at least Yang Aoshan hadn’t just abruptly refused to come.

Colt retrieved his phone and asked, “Klaradak, are you planning on confessing to Teacher Yang again?”

Klaradak chuckled, “Of course. That’s why I’ll need you all to create the right mood. Also, this time, I brought something special—a high-tier energy stone of the dark attribute secured via my family’s connections. She’s bound to love it.”

Nearby, Luo La and the others exclaimed, “That’s truly extraordinary!”

Energy stones were crystalline artifacts with ultra-high energy density, artificially compressed from the energy extracted from Star Cores and Star Stones.

While not as versatile as Star Stones and unable to be directly absorbed by Star Card Masters, they were particularly suited for barriers.

Upon finding out that Klaradak intended to woo Yang Aoshan, his family eagerly provided this high-tier dark attribute energy stone.

After all, a genius Fifth-Level Barrier Master under twenty-five was highly significant to Klaradak’s family!

Colt secretly shook his head, though. *While Klaradak was undeniably outstanding, it was evident that Yang Aoshan held little interest in him.*

*And despite the energy stone’s value, Yang Aoshan did not seem like someone who would compromise herself for material possessions.*

There wasn’t much hope.

At this moment, Robert, who was standing beside Klaradak, contemplated for a moment before patting Klaradak on the shoulder. He said, “Klaradak, I need to talk to you.”

“Hmm? What’s wrong?”

“Come with me.”

The two walked to a corner of the estate.

After a brief pause, Robert said, “Today, I saw Teacher Yang go to the café behind the academy, right after you went to the library to invite her.”

Klaradak laughed, “She likes coffee; isn’t that normal?”

“But she usually prefers hand-ground coffee, doesn’t she? Moreover, from what I observed, she seemed to have gone to meet someone. She appeared quite happy.

I used the Air-tight Guide and noticed the presence of someone else’s energy on her—it should be a man.”

Klaradak froze momentarily before asking, “Did you get a clear view of the man?”

“No, I also went into the café later on, but for some reason, that person was already gone.

And tonight, at the banquet, Teacher Yang still hasn’t left home yet and didn’t let you pick her up. I was wondering…”

At this point, Robert trailed off.

Klaradak didn’t need him to elaborate.

“Are you implying she might have someone at her place?” Klaradak clenched his fists tightly. “Teacher Yang, such an exceptional woman, wouldn’t behave frivolously. It’s impossible!”

*How could Klaradak accept this after chasing his goddess for so long, only to find that she might have someone else—and even bring them home?*

Robert nodded, “I hope so. I just thought it would be better to give you a heads-up.”

“Hmm.”

Klaradak nodded and returned to the group with Robert.

But despite the lively atmosphere of the banquet, Klaradak’s thoughts were far from the present. His mind kept replaying Robert’s words.

“Damn it!”

Agitated, he slammed his hand against the edge of the table, cracking it.

“Klaradak?”

Ailan, Robert, Colt, and the others were startled.

With a darkened expression, Klaradak said, “I’m going to pick up Teacher Yang.”

Without another word, he headed straight out the door…
