Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 428: Chapter 354: Clash Chapter 428: Chapter 354: Clash Seeing the black-haired young man use his hand as a knife, piercing through Lin Chongyun’s chest, everyone’s expressions changed.

“Envoy Lin!” Wu Jianghao exclaimed in shock, about to rush forward to help.

However, the situation quickly changed again.

A large number of silver patterns suddenly lit up on Lin Chongyun’s body. The pierced body turned into a mass of thunder sludge wrapping around the black-haired young man.

The black-haired young man was bound by the thunder sludge, unable to move for a moment, his eyes rapidly scanning his surroundings.

And in the next moment, the ground burst with thunder light, roaring silver thunder tore through the ground and shot upwards from beneath the black-haired young man’s feet!

The crowd looked up to see Lin Chongyun holding a thunder sword!

Not far away, Su Yuan nodded silently.

“This Lin Chongyun, not only has extremely keen perception, but his combat strategy and execution ability are also impeccable…”

Just now, when the Flying Thunder God’s Arrow had no effect, Lin Chongyun had already left a Thunder Illusion Body in place.

Because Lin Chongyun realized that no matter how strong “direct” attacks were, they couldn’t harm the opponent. At least, this was the case for him.

So after the first attack failed, Lin Chongyun immediately began to consider the next combat strategy. If direct attacks were ineffective, he would try a “stealth attack”!

Since the black-haired young man was previously stunned by the Thunder Fury Vision, it indicated that he could be controlled by control skills.

Combining the known information, Lin Chongyun quickly devised and executed this series of stealth attack strategies.

His thoughts were agile, and his adaptability was maxed out.

If it were an average person, seeing that their continuous onslaughts and even ultimate moves had no effect on the enemy, they might have already felt disheartened, with their fighting spirit shaken.

But Lin Chongyun calmly devised the next action strategy in a moment and executed it perfectly, truly outstanding.

The All-Knowing Vision could see through energy changes. Su Yuan had already sensed Lin Chongyun’s intention when he left the Thunder Illusion Body and hid underground.

Otherwise, if the black-haired young man really could instantaneously and suddenly kill Lin Chongyun, Su Yuan would naturally step in to help…

“Brilliant!”

The situation changed dramatically in an instant. Lin Chongyun, who had been pierced through the chest, turned defense into attack and succeeded in a stealth strike!

The monitors in the field, although most had considerable combat experience, had never seen such a spectacular exchange. They couldn’t help but silently applaud Lin Chongyun, feeling a ray of hope rising in their hearts.

Lin Chongyun, however, was staring at the black-haired young man intently. But in just a moment, his expression grew even graver.

The thunder light dissipated, and the black-haired young man, who had been hit by the sneak attack, remained unscathed!

Seeing this, Su Yuan’s expression also grew serious.

“Even a sneak attack doesn’t work?”

Su Yuan scrutinized the black-haired young man. There was no doubt that the other party was using a rule-based power of soul, seemingly capable of completely evading any harm.

But this evasion ability was too strong and too comprehensive!

For a Star Card Master, all measures ultimately came down to Star Power.

Even rule-based abilities were based on the foundation of one’s realm and Star Power.

Just like a Shining Star Level person using a rule-based ability against a Radiant Moon Level or Burning Sun Level. The massive difference in Star Power would greatly diminish the effectiveness of the rule-based ability or even destroy it violently, rendering it useless.

Lin Chongyun’s Flying Thunder God’s Arrow just now was far beyond what most Shining Star Level Star Card Masters could use, yet it couldn’t even scratch the black-haired young man.

Now, even the stealth attack had no effect.

This indicated that either the black-haired young man possessed far superior Star Power than the Shining Star Level, easily blocking the Flying Thunder God’s Arrow with his own ability.

Or, the black-haired young man’s meditation on Soul Cards and cultivation of Soul Power had advanced far beyond the average, making his ability inherently stronger.

Judging by the Shining Star Level Star Power fluctuations emanating from him, it was probably the latter.

“Soul Power far beyond the average…”

Su Yuan couldn’t help but think of Qiguang’s experimental subjects, who could use Soul Power at the lowest level. They could indeed be described as far beyond the average.

However, too much thinking is useless. The immediate priority was to figure out a way to deal with this enemy.

Being able to nullify all attacks, although despairing, was not absolutely invincible.

At least control and sealing skills could effectively deal with the opponent.

But Su Yuan himself was not skilled in sealing and knew no long-duration control skills…

At this moment, the black-haired young man struck again. With a raise of his hand, a black light shot out from his hand towards Lin Chongyun in mid-air.

Lin Chongyun dared not be careless and immediately set up a Thunder Light Barrier for defense.

The black light hit the Thunder Light Barrier, causing it to distort and dent.

With a bang, the Thunder Light Barrier shattered, and Lin Chongyun grunted, flying backward from the impact.

The black-haired young man stomped the ground, instantly rising into the air, rushing toward the retreating Lin Chongyun, and throwing a punch.

At that moment, a faster figure flew out, overtaking the black-haired young man, slashing at his back with a long knife emitting Black Flame.

It was Su Yuan!

“Flash.”

The Black Flame erupted from the knife. With Divine Fire driving the Flash, hardly anyone at the Shining Star Level could withstand it!

Yet at this moment, slashing the black-haired young man’s back only sparked some flowing black brilliance.

“So this is it, the ability to evade harm…” Su Yuan looked at the black brilliance, squinting his eyes slightly.

The black-haired young man glanced at Su Yuan behind him, ignoring Lin Chongyun. He turned around, grabbed the long knife filled with Undead Evil Fire, and swiftly drew out a jet-black blade, slashing at Su Yuan with extreme speed!

Su Yuan instantly executed a Local Transfer, dodging the jet-black blade without leaving any marks.

A hint of surprise flashed in the black-haired young man’s eyes. He did not expect Su Yuan to have a similar ability.

Su Yuan’s body ignited with Green Flames, increasing his strength and speed. He closed in, left hand entwined with golden fire, and smashed the Golden Burning Hand into the black-haired young man’s face.

With a bang, a shockwave exploded, sending the black-haired young man flying dozens of meters back.

The exchange between both sides lasted only a moment. Lin Chongyun exclaimed in surprise, “You hit him?!”

Su Yuan shook his head, “I hit him, but…”

Su Yuan didn’t finish his sentence, for the black-haired young man quickly steadied himself in mid-air. Though Su Yuan’s punch had landed solidly, there was still no sign of injury!

Lin Chongyun frowned, “This person’s power of soul truly is unsolvable!”

“But it wasn’t without any gain,” Su Yuan said, dispersing the flame on his left hand.

Lin Chongyun looked at the black-haired young man who had regained his balance in the distance: “You mean the fact that you knocked him back?”

Su Yuan nodded, “Exactly.”

Lin Chongyun’s eyes flashed, understanding Su Yuan’s meaning.

Earlier, all their various ranged attacks had directly passed through the opponent’s body.

But now, whether it was Su Yuan’s Flash Slash or the punch from the Golden Burning Hand, while the black-haired young man evaded the harm, the knock-back effect couldn’t be avoided.

At least, it was possible to restrict the opponent’s actions through similar close-combat attacks.

Su Yuan said, “But aside from this, there’s also bad news.”

Without Su Yuan’s prompting, Lin Chongyun said sternly, “He can still attack when using his evasion ability?”

Su Yuan glanced at Lin Chongyun, nodding, “Indeed.”

Until now, the black-haired young man had only attacked Lin Chongyun after evading their attack.

Hence, Su Yuan wondered if the black-haired young man couldn’t use his ability to evade while attacking.

From the recent results, however, it was clear that the black-haired young man’s ability didn’t have this flaw. Maybe it was even purposely revealed to lure an opportunistic attack from Su Yuan.

Without Phase Transfer, he might have been struck by the opponent’s counterattack. The close range combined with the opponent’s shocking swing speed would have made it too late even for Instant Movement.

“What a tricky situation…”

Su Yuan felt it was challenging, but he wasn’t in despair.

Yang Yifeng had once said, there was no absolutely invincible ability. All abilities had weaknesses.

As long as the rule was understood, a way could be found to break it.

Since close-combat attacks had some effect, there was still hope.

Su Yuan’s Green Flame Burning Body activated, and he leaped forward, swinging his knife.

The black-haired young man lifted his hand pointing at Su Yuan, causing a mysterious energy to appear on Su Yuan’s left foot.

Su Yuan’s All-Knowing Vision saw it clearly. He stepped aside suddenly.

“Hmm?”

The black-haired young man’s eyes flashed with surprise.

Su Yuan stepped again, appearing near his opponent, swiping the long knife in continuous slashes.

The black-haired young man allowed Su Yuan’s long knife to strike him, countering with swift and precise strikes of his own.

One evaded harm through special rules-based ability, the other through Phase Transfer. In their intense close-combat, neither sustained any injuries.

Lin Chongyun joined in with his thunder sword. Though known as an archer, Lin Chongyun was also adept in close combat, with lightning-fast and powerful swordsmanship.

Su Yuan suppressed the black-haired young man with his strength, while Lin Chongyun tried to find vulnerable points on the opponent.

However, Lin Chongyun was disappointed. Even stabbing the black-haired young man’s eyes had no effect.

The fierce exchange resulted in a stalemate.

Though Su Yuan’s strength was superior, continually pushing the black-haired young man back.

“Interesting, interesting. When did the north produce such a powerful stranger at the Shining Star Level that even I didn’t know?”

On the ground, Qiong Ying watched the black-haired young man in mid-air, eyes gleaming with intense interest.

“But which side is such a master supporting?”

Qiong Ying scanned the prisoners, soon focusing on a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties.

Qiong Ying’s green eyes shone faintly, clearly seeing the strong purple aura of fear surrounding this man.

“Is it him…”
