After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 2288: Chapter 583: Do You Want to Dance Too?

The peak Cristiano Ronaldo’s impact was too strong, Heitinga and the others from the Netherlands were always a step too late.

If Ronaldo wasn’t unlucky, hitting the post all the time, the Netherlands team would already be behind.

”Kevin, what should we do?”

Cocu asked anxiously.

This defense can’t hold up.

”Let’s make a substitution.”

Huang Kaiwen said after a few seconds of silence.

Choosing between Ronaldo and Nani, it’s better to have Kuyt shadow Ronaldo.

”A substitution in the first half?”

Cocu asked hesitantly.

Such a move in most teams, players would lose their temper.

In the Netherlands team, he could hardly imagine it.

”Are you going to wait until we’ve conceded a goal to make a substitution?”

Huang Kaiwen replied irritably.

Cocu quickly nodded and said: ”Alright, then we’ll make a substitution.”

”Ron!”

Huang Kaiwen turned and gestured.

After shouting twice, Ron Vlaar got up.

His ranking in the Netherlands team isn’t high, he never thought he could play in such an important match.

Once he realized, Vlaar quickly took off his training jacket and ran to the sidelines, saying: ”Boss.”

”Warm up, time is tight, you warm up while I talk to you about tactics.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

Only then did Vlaar believe Huang Kaiwen was preparing to let him play.

He started jogging on the sidelines.

”The situation isn’t good, I want to let Dek defend Ronaldo on the wing, so there’s no defender on the left side, now you need to deal with Nani.”

Huang Kaiwen asked: ”Any problems?”

”I’ll do my best.”

Vlaar didn’t dare to make a promise.

Even though he’s known for his defense.

His physique decides he isn’t as agile as Nani.

A relative advantage is his good aerial ability.

”Just give it your all, the team has no other options now.”

Huang Kaiwen said, patting Vlaar’s shoulder.

The biggest problem with the Netherlands team’s lineup is a carrot-per-hole situation, every slightly good player’s substitute has a big gap in capability.

Like England doesn’t use Cole, they have Everton’s Baines.

Right now, there really aren’t many good full-backs in world football, especially few in Europe.

Milan always using Zambrotta is also because of this.

These Dutch defenders don’t go abroad, but regarding their ability estimation, Huang Kaiwen feels these full-backs are only at the level of main or semi-main players in mid-lower teams of mainstream leagues.

A few minutes later, the Netherlands made the first substitution.

”Van der Vaart is substituted by Vlaar, Huang Kaiwen is preparing to strengthen the defense.”

”No choice, Ronaldo’s attack on the left side is too strong. The Netherlands team must strengthen their defense, haha, Van der Vaart wasn’t very happy when he went off.”

[Hawking] right.

”What the hell, Van der Vaart dares to show attitude, what championship does he have?”

”Show some respect, he’s Ajax’s captain, former captain.”

”What’s the use of Ajax, how many UEFA Champions League titles? Huang Kaiwen this guy is still AC Milan’s captain, current captain!”

”Don’t worry, with Huang Kaiwen remembering grudges like this, Van der Vaart won’t get a minute on the field next.”

”Van der Vaart mainly because of injury and position change, if he was as quick as when he was at Ajax, he wouldn’t have been substituted.”

”The Netherlands team truly relies on Robben for attack, Huang Kaiwen has turned the Netherlands team into the Italy team.”

”As long as there’s a counterattack, at least they can still push forward.”

Paul Bento watched the field.

He thought Kuyt would go to the front.

After all, Huang Kaiwen substituted an attacking player.

But he didn’t expect Kuyt to go and play as a double defensive midfielder with De Jong.

Strootman, who was freed, moved slightly forward to become a central midfielder.

Robben and Sneijder, the three of them have to cover both wings and the attacking midfield positions, with considerable freedom.

Summing up it’s about increasing defensive player numbers to target Ronaldo and Nani’s wing attacks.

Bento’s lips curled into a disdainful smile.

He knows Rehagel and Mourinho’s successes have made football start to worship defense.

But many times defense doesn’t work.

Otherwise, those relegated teams wouldn’t end the season with only a dozen or twenty points.

Huang Kaiwen’s tactics have been analyzed to death by the media.

Bento doesn’t believe the withdrawn historical chain-defense can pose any difficulties for Portugal.

However, Kuyt’s versatility still surprised him.

On the field, he switched from left-back to defensive midfielder and immediately adapted, even slowing Ronaldo’s offensive speed in defense.

But as halftime approached.

Bento’s face couldn’t hold his smile anymore.

Damn, Huang Kaiwen’s defensive coaching ability is stronger than he thought!

The Netherlands team’s defense looks messy, yet it’s not actually threatened.

Strootman, this versatile midfielder, has been turned into another role—the sweeper!

Indeed.

This is also a position that disappeared from football history.

Originating from England football, the sweeper, also known as the withdrawn central defender, only changed to a free role with Beckenbauer’s appearance.

Strootman doesn’t have Beckenbauer’s strong personal ability.

But called ”Little Cocu”, Strootman has impressive game-reading ability, critical moments always see him appear in dangerous positions to cover.

Most importantly, his passing and regulation abilities are excellent, he can quickly pass the ball out after defending, and prevent Portugal from getting a second chance to attack.

Damn it.

In the last match, Huang Kaiwen had Kuyt play full-back to limit Germany.

This match, after the substitution, Strootman turned out to be a masterstroke.

Bento, although reluctant to admit it, finds Huang Kaiwen’s adjustment ability during the match indeed very strong!

And in a bizarre way, letting these players exhibit great performance in unfamiliar positions.
