After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 1967: Chapter 517: Only You Are Called Thomas Müller

”The jersey number is a problem.”

Huang Kaiwen said, holding his head.

Even though Messi is set to join during the winter break.

But the young Messi can’t really wear number 30, right?

Even if he doesn’t care.

Jorge Messi won’t make trouble.

Number 30 will affect Messi’s commercial value, as this number has always been on the fringes. Long-term fans will have this impression, and not only will Messi make less money, but Milan will also earn less.

”Contact Sky TV and other broadcasters, besides the training camp in Asia this summer, all Milan jersey numbers will be reselected.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”What do you mean, Kevin?”

Gagliani didn’t quite understand what Huang Kaiwen meant.

”We’ll have a live broadcast program. If more than one player is interested in a certain number, we let them compete comprehensively, and the winner gets the desired number.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”Including number 10?”

Gagliani asked instinctively.

”Of course, if someone can win, they can wear number ten.”

Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.

”It sounds like it will attract worldwide attention, but what about Alessandro?”

Gagliani asked.

Nesta, due to injuries, is very unstable in performance. If he really competes, with his injuries not fully healed, he may not be able to beat Thiago Silva.

Huang Kaiwen rolled his eyes and said, ”Do you think anyone would want to take his number? I think some encouragement is necessary to get everyone moving, as our defense line doesn’t have much fierce competition. Bender and the others wouldn’t compete with Alessandro for the number.”

”I understand.”

Gagliani chuckled and said.

This is like live reality TV without a script.

But in positions without intense competition, encouragement is a must, otherwise, the competition for numbers concentrated only on the front field will be unexciting.

”Will we do this every year?”

Gagliani asked.

Huang Kaiwen felt like hitting someone upon hearing this.

”The focus is Barca, do you understand? They also have an Asian tour, and if we invite Barca players to compete together, we can secure Messi’s jersey in advance, so no one else can object.”

Huang Kaiwen said, tapping his forehead.

While this activity is novel, it can easily become serious.

And changing jersey numbers every year is not a good idea.

The main reason is the Messi issue needs resolving, and Huang Kaiwen thought of a compromise.

Gagliani still wants to be on TV every year for profits.

What is he thinking?

Compared to commercial development, Huang Kaiwen values team stability more.

A football club should never become some kind of Hollywood on the green field or a green field influencer team.

Milan already has enough attention and doesn’t need more off-field incidents.

Players quarreling all day damages the team’s value.

Speaking of this, Huang Kaiwen lamented Ronaldo’s bad luck.

Back when he was playing, players weren’t allowed to compete in European games for two teams in one season.

After he retired, the new rule permitted it.

Otherwise, Van Bommel could not have won the UEFA Champions League with Milan.

”One more thing, Andrea Pirlo wants a salary increase, should we satisfy him?”

Gagliani asked.

Huang Kaiwen paused.

This is indeed a problem.

Pirlo is different from Nesta, Gattuso, and the others.

He still has a few years left at the peak of his career.

And he has contributed a lot to Milan.

”Are we able to comply with FFP?”

Huang Kaiwen asked.

Gagliani smiled bitterly and said, ”Even for Messi’s salary, we have to come up with many ways to resolve it. Currently, it’s difficult to increase the frontline’s salaries openly.”

Milan has too many stars.

Even if we restrict wages, they’re still higher than most teams.

This is while a part of Huang Kaiwen’s salary is covered by sponsors; otherwise, signing Messi would be impossible.

Even if Messi joins Milan for free, it’s unaffordable.

Seeing Huang Kaiwen silent, Gagliani advised, ”Why don’t we take advantage of the situation to cash him in? Ancelotti likes him too. Chelsea can meet his requirements, and after all, Kroos and Rakitic are younger.”

That’s true, the words make sense.

But as a club, you can’t only focus on profits.

Huang Kaiwen said, ”Then offer him some commercial contract compensation, and discuss this matter with Andrea, see if he agrees.”

If he doesn’t agree, there’s no choice.

”What does the coach think about this?”

Huang Kaiwen suddenly asked.

Guardiola’s attitude is also crucial.

”Pep says he hopes Pirlo stays, but he doesn’t mind either way.”

Gagliani said.

Huang Kaiwen nodded.

It seems Guardiola isn’t fond of Pirlo’s character.

There’s no issue with Pirlo’s skill, but his personality is quite challenging.

Italian players don’t often quarrel internally, but their personalities aren’t easy.

From Maldini to Totti, the leader players, and including low-key players like Pirlo, they’ve had conflicts with coaches more than once.

”It’s best to try to keep him. Among the Italian players from the 2004-2005 UEFA Champions League victory, the only ones likely to stay with Milan for the next few seasons are him and Filippo.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

Gagliani didn’t ask about Inzaghi.

He has understood in recent years; Inzaghi has friends supporting him, allowing him to play at AC Milan continuously.

”Guardiola wants Atlético Madrid’s Aguero, and Atlético Madrid wants to sell the player to us, but Manchester City is also competing.”

Gagliani continued.
