Chapter 1961: Chapter 515: Victorious Escape

The two people returned to the submarine again, and Huang Kaiwen instructed the Young Master on some radar operations.

Ramos was also on the side learning along with them.

Until nightfall, Inzaghi and Kaka hadn’t returned.

The three of them simply ate a meal outside the submarine.

Just when Huang Kaiwen was about to call the two, the walkie-talkie sounded, and Kaka excitedly said, ”Kevin, we’ve brought back a lot of diesel.”

”That’s great, make sure not to bring the vehicle up here.”

Huang Kaiwen replied.

The thickness of this mountain might not bear such heavy weight.

”Got it, we’ll park the cars ahead of time.”

Kaka said.

”Come on, let’s go take a look, Chris should come along too to relax the mind.” Huang Kaiwen waved and said.

The three of them went up along the rope and saw two completely ludicrous trucks.

Two large trucks hauling countless barrels of oil, tilted and parked at the bottom of the mountain!

”Do you guys have the relevant licenses?”

Huang Kaiwen ran down helplessly and asked.

Inzaghi chuckled and said, ”I’ll definitely apply for one when we get back.”

”We couldn’t find oil tankers, so we had no choice but to return this way.”

Kaka said.

”Rest up a bit first, then we’ll figure out how to get the oil into the cave.”

Huang Kaiwen said, patting his forehead.

This journey wasn’t without its challenges.

A barrel of 200 liters weighs less than 200 pounds, bringing it up and then pulling it into the cave is not easy.

Moreover, five and a half barrels amount to a ton, this is quite an operation.

Ramos suddenly said, ”Can we drive the truck to that cave entrance and let the barrels follow the underground river inside?”

”Absolutely!!!”

Huang Kaiwen excitedly said, ”Sergio, you came up with a great idea.”

Ramos nodded excitedly as well.

All along he hadn’t contributed much in this aspect, Ramos was very pleased to finally offer a useful suggestion.

After more than twenty minutes, several people began working.

After moving the barrels near the submarine, even Ramos collapsed on the ground.

”If we’re treasure hunting next time, we should hire some people.”

Inzaghi said.

”Aren’t you afraid they’ll kill you when they see the treasure?”

Kaka rolled his eyes and said.

It was his first time doing such intense physical work.

It reminded him of Beatrice.

”Get some sleep early, tomorrow we’ll go back and forth twice, and we’ll be ready.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

Today, there’s no way to return to the city for lodging, might as well sleep in the submarine for the night.

The second day, the four of them went to even further cities and only prepared by nighttime.

On the third day, with the equipment available, it took them most of the day to deal with the submarine’s fuel tanks.

June 11.

The group finally completed the final preparations.

Huang Kaiwen managed to convince everyone with his mental work, allowing him to personally light the fuse.

He didn’t hesitate, directly using the Immunity Card.

Huang Kaiwen extended the fuse for dozens of meters until it reached the end, he looked back at the others and said, ”Hurry back, return to your positions, otherwise in a bit we might become treasure hunters who find the treasure but die because the submarine didn’t start.”

Huang Kaiwen watched intently, seeing the bright flashlight return to the submarine, then he bent down and ignited the fuse.

Immediately, Huang Kaiwen turned and ran.

He felt as if he had never run so fast before.

At this moment, if Bolt were beside him, he dared to glance back several times.

After days of figuring out the path underfoot, Huang Kaiwen almost ran with his head held up.

Upon seeing the submarine, Huang Kaiwen didn’t relax but instead quickened his pace.

He dashed inside the submarine, immediately pulled the waterproof door, and fiercely handled the door wheel, closing the door tightly.

”Kevin!!!”

”Kevin!!!”

Huang Kaiwen waved his hand and said, ”Go back, I’m fine.”

The group returned to their positions, and they heard a loud noise, followed by a round of earthquake-like tremors.

”Damn it, did the mountain collapse?”

The radio erupted with Ramos’s angry cursing.

The sound of rocks striking the submarine had already confirmed Ramos’s suspicions.

Even Inzaghi kept silent.

Everyone prayed that the submarine wouldn’t be pierced by the falling rocks.

At this time, Huang Kaiwen said, ”You all lie down and grab hold of chairs or something else with your limbs tightly!”

The first time steering a submarine, mistakes are inevitably made.

A submarine, damn it, doesn’t have seat belts.

When the Connecticut collided, America’s navy was injured quite a bit.

Fortunately, the situation wasn’t as bad as Huang Kaiwen anticipated, after the first wave of seawater came in, the submarine had stabilized and floated, the group was unharmed.

Under the tremendous noise, the U482 proceeded along the planned route.

Seeing the submarine cruising out of the cave, Huang Kaiwen excitedly announced over the radio, ”Guys, light up your cigars, we’re less than 200 kilometers from Sardinia, and at a speed of 18 knots, we’ll reach Sardinia in just over 5 hours!”

”Hooray!!!”

”Hooray!!!”

Ramos cheered.

Inzaghi cheered.

Young Master also cheered.

Huang Kaiwen turned to Kaka and said, ”You don’t really have to be here, we can sail on the surface just like regular ships, I can handle it myself.”

”Certainly not!”

Kaka laughed and took out his walkman, pulling out the earbuds.

The classic theme ”Raiders March” from ”Indiana Jones” suddenly played.

Huang Kaiwen felt like he transformed into Indiana Jones himself.

This journey yielded a lot, and more importantly, he experienced so much with his friends.

Such an adventure, Huang Kaiwen thought, might only happen once in a lifetime.

He also lit a cigar in celebration. After days of being tense, they were finally heading back to Italy.

Once they reached Sardinia, there would be someone arranged by the young lady to meet them, and even if the American military in Avellino discovered something, they would have no way to act.

The goods would have long been moved by the time they reach Sardinia.

At this moment, Huang Kaiwen couldn’t help but feel a bit smug.

He was careful to avoid the pitfalls detailed in movies.

So on this journey, aside from that car chase, it was relatively smooth sailing.

To find the treasure left by the Nazis on the mysterious North African continent.

This is something the Yellow Ball King definitely needs to include in his memoirs, to be disclosed decades later.

”It’s so boring!”

Inzaghi complained over the radio.

”If you want, you can go out to get some fresh air.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”No, are you trying to ditch me, Kevin?”

Inzaghi shouted, now in a higher pitch.

”Of course not; when a submarine is on the surface, soldiers can stand on the deck.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”Really?”

”Of course it is true, haven’t you noticed how U-boats are shaped like ships? Some even have cannons installed to engage enemies on the sea surface.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

He had been boning up on such information recently.

”I bet Filippo won’t be able to resist.”

Kaka laughed and said.

”I think so too.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

Not only Inzaghi, but Ramos also went out for some fresh air.

Recently, they had been doing physical work, which was quite dull for them.

Midway through their journey, Young Master exclaimed over the radio, ”Uncle Kevin, I see a ship, a ship!”

”Don’t panic, it’s not like we’re unlucky enough to run into the Forrest, right?”

Huang Kaiwen quipped.

In truth, he was somewhat afraid of encountering an American aircraft carrier.

After all, with victory so close, he’d be bummed if the Yankees got the loot.

”Not sure, but it’s moving fast.”

Young Master replied anxiously.

After all, he was still just a kid.

”Should we dive, Kevin?”

Kaka asked, a bit nervous.

After all, they’d been sailing for over four hours, with victory in sight.

”No, keep sailing on the surface.”

Huang Kaiwen said without hesitation.

What if something goes wrong when diving, then they’d all be doomed.

Compared to money, life is most important.

”But, Kevin...”

Kaka was a bit reluctant.

Huang Kaiwen shook his head and kept the course.

If it were really Forrest, they wouldn’t be able to hide anyway.

Soon, Inzaghi ran into the control room saying, ”Scared me to death, we saw a merchant ship.”

Huang Kaiwen breathed a sigh of relief.

That’s right.

The Mediterranean has plenty of merchant ships.

The chances of running into a merchant ship are way higher than an American aircraft carrier.

Approaching Sardinia, they encountered a few more merchant ships.

”We’re almost there, hold tight, don’t end up in the hospital at the last moment.”

Huang Kaiwen said over the radio.

Then, with this submarine being no longer needed, they simply landed it onshore.

With a sound of scraping and a strong shake, U482 finally made landfall in Sardinia!
