Chapter 1954: Chapter 514: The Empire’s Rupture

I’ve found the treasure’s location.

Huang Kaiwen finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Even if we don’t find the treasure, finding a U-boat would still be a success.

Otherwise, just finding one of Rommel’s backup command posts always felt like something was missing.

According to the images left behind by Rommel, Huang Kaiwen believed it was a U2 submarine.

As for what modifications it had, no one knew.

Maybe he even got the model wrong.

After all, black and white photos can be somewhat distorted, and he wasn’t exactly a naval enthusiast.

It was only due to playing ”Azur Lane” and recently cramming that he gained some understanding of WWII German equipment.

”Let’s go back.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”Not going to look for other clues?”

Inzaghi asked.

”Other clues aren’t important anymore.”

Huang Kaiwen explained: ”If it’s not on the map left by Rommel, then it really isn’t there.”

”Alright, let’s head back now then.”

Kaka nodded and said.

On the way back, everyone’s steps were much lighter.

Some unnecessary tools were just discarded; they could buy new ones in town. There was no need to carry them for hours when they had earned so much money playing soccer, no need to be stingy now.

Of course, confirming the treasure’s location was the main reason.

The mechanisms left by Rommel made Inzaghi and the others feel impressive and raised their expectations for the treasure.

”Chris, what do you want to do if we find the treasure?”

Huang Kaiwen asked.

Since they brought the Young Master along, it wasn’t possible not to give him a share.

”Do I get a share too?”

The Young Master asked excitedly.

”Yes, you get a share too!”

Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.

The map belonged to Kaka, so Kaka’s share was guaranteed.

At worst, he’d cover the Young Master’s share himself.

There was no choice, as the kid hit it off with the Yellow Ball King.

”Then I want to play games professionally!”

The Young Master said excitedly.

”Alright, I support you!”

Huang Kaiwen said, putting his arm around the Young Master.

Whether or not they found the treasure, he’d have a talk with Paul about this when they returned.

Chris was clearly more mature than he thought.

It would be good for him to venture out a bit.

At worst, once he returned home, he could inherit the Ma Family business. Anyway, his second and third brothers had some talent, and even that little brat Danny could make quite a bit of money playing soccer.

If the Young Master took over the Ma Family’s leisurewear line.

Huang Kaiwen would definitely suggest they get rid of those outdated designers.

The design styles of the Maldini and Vieri brands always seemed a decade behind the rest of the world.

That evening, back at the hotel.

Huang Kaiwen received a call from the Young Mistress.

”How’s the trip, Feiyang?”

The Young Mistress teasingly asked over the phone.

Feiyang was the name of the protagonist in Jack Chen’s movie ”Feiyang Plan.”

”Not bad, apart from Neo getting hurt, there weren’t too many surprises.”

Huang Kaiwen said with a laugh.

This time they had prepared quite well, and even crossing the desert, they hadn’t encountered much danger.

”That’s good to hear. The arrangements you mentioned are in place, but isn’t it a bit of an overkill?” the Young Mistress asked.

”Who knows.”

Huang Kaiwen tilted his head, cradling the phone with his shoulder, while watching a French weather forecaster on TV, and said, ”Better safe than sorry, especially when it might involve a lot of money.”

”You’re right, then let’s leave it at that, don’t forget to bring some gifts.” The Young Mistress said over the phone.

Huang Kaiwen laughed, ”We’ll see what we find. If the Amber Room is here, I’ll bring it back as a gift for you.”

The Young Mistress giggled and hung up.

The Amber Room couldn’t possibly be in North Africa.

After all, it was stolen by the Germans from the Soviet Union, and no matter how you think about it, Rommel wouldn’t bring it to Africa.

On the contrary, the Ark from ”Indiana Jones” might be a possibility, if that thing really existed.

Based on various reports, they all said the Ark was taken by the Ancient Egyptians, and after so many years, it’s uncertain in whose possession it might be. Since Rommel rampaged in North Africa for so long, there was a non-zero chance he could have obtained it.

After hanging up, Huang Kaiwen called the Young Master into the room.

”What’s up, Uncle Kevin?”

The Young Master asked excitedly.

”Well, even early submarines need two people to operate, and that’s with giving up the launching and torpedo departments, so I think it’s good to prepare in advance. Just in case we need to pilot the submarine to leave, you’ll at least be able to help.” Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.

”That’s so cool, Uncle Kevin!”

The Young Master exclaimed excitedly.

He swore he never imagined he’d have the chance to operate a submarine.

Huang Kaiwen couldn’t help but laugh at the Young Master’s enthusiasm.

Unless absolutely necessary, he really didn’t want to pilot a submarine.

If something went wrong with that thing, there’d be no chance to escape.

Who knew if something that old from decades ago would still function properly?

”But Uncle Kevin, why are we abandoning the other departments? What if we encounter pirates?”

The Young Master asked.

Huang Kaiwen: ...

This is the Mediterranean.

You’re more likely to encounter the US military than pirates.

If there are pirates, it’s probably just the US military in disguise.

The Suez Canal is now under American control too.

But the Young Master does have a point.

It’s definitely no harm in being more prepared.

”Then go call them in.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

The Young Master excitedly ran out to gather people.

”Long story short, we might need to leave by submarine, it’s a possibility, so before that, you’ll get some short-term training, and if there’s enough time once we’re onboard, I’ll give you a practical demonstration.”
