Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 917: Chapter 917 Just Nonsense

Lin Dong heard the monk’s words and couldn’t help but sneer inwardly.

However, his face maintained the guise of a devout believer, and he said ’sincerely’,

”Thank you, Master, I’ll transfer the money to you right now.”

The monk took out his phone and had Lin Dong transfer money into his private account.

Lin Dong sent him fifty thousand yuan, and after doing so, he smiled and said,

”Master, the threshold of your house must be pretty high, right?”

”Haha...” The monk laughed and said, ”Not high, not high, just one floor high. I only have a set of houses inside the city.”

”The masters in the temple, those are the truly high thresholds. The highest one is as tall as a building.”

Goodness, even a little monk like him has a set of houses in Demon Capital City. Being a monk sure is lucrative!

After saying this, the monk indeed kept his promise and led Lin Dong into the temple to find Master Falin.

Lin Dong followed behind him and entered the temple.

Once inside, he noticed that the crowd was a bit thinner, but there were still quite a few people around.

”Those who come here seeking wealth and officialdom are the most numerous,” said the monk with a smiley face.

”The world bustles for profit,” said Lin Dong. ”If one can get promoted and rich by praying to Buddha, then who wouldn’t want to?”

”You seem to be a cultured person, and I believe that you can get what you seek. The masters here are very accurate, whether it be for wealth or marriage,” the monk laughingly said.

Lin Dong nodded, then he asked, ”Master, how long has Master Falin been at this temple?”

”Master Falin arrived last year. He is a high monk in Buddhism, and ever since he came here, he has truly invigorated our temple’s incense offering.”

”Many people come just for him because his rituals are very effective. A lot of stars have become popular through his rituals.”

”And many tycoons have seen their companies grow bigger and bigger with his help...”

”Is that so.” Lin Dong let out a snort of cold laughter in his heart, but his face remained expressionless, as he again asked, ”Master Falin must have conducted rituals for a lot of people, right?”

”That he has; he does at least ten a day on average,” the monk said with some pride. ”Moreover, he takes disciples. If a monk has the fortune, he might have the opportunity to be accepted as his disciple.”

”As for me, I don’t have such luck, only able to be the little monk who watches the merit box.”

Lin Dong remained silent, not saying anything further.

Soon, the monk led Lin Dong into one of the temple’s great halls.

”This is Master Falin’s Taoist Temple, where he generally performs rituals for propitious men and women during the daytime. I have brought you here, but whether you can convince Master Falin to conduct a ritual for you depends on your own strength.”

”I’ll let you in on a secret; usually, offering this amount of money, Master Falin makes an exception to perform a ritual for a virtuous man.”

He held up a finger.

Lin Dong curiously asked, ”Do you mean a hundred thousand?”

”No, one million,” the monk whispered.

Lin Dong nodded, ”I understand.”

The monk, seeing that Lin Dong was quite wealthy, continued to follow him, hoping to gain more benefits.

As for Lin Dong, he turned his gaze toward the inside of the great hall.

He saw quite a few people standing inside.

One of them, a monk wearing a Baonan cassock, looked to be over forty years old, with a hefty build, and was performing a ritual for a young woman.

And standing beside them was a group of people, seemingly the young woman’s family.

”Is that Master Falin?”

Lin Dong pointed at the ritual practitioner and quietly asked the monk beside him.

The monk nodded, ”That is Master Falin indeed. He is currently curing the daughter of a tycoon. This tycoon might be someone you’ve seen on TV, haven’t you?”

Lin Dong glanced at the person the monk was referring to and shook his head, ”I don’t know him.”

”Really, mister, you don’t know him? I’m a monk in the temple, and even I know him,” said the monk in surprise.

”Oh? Is that tycoon very rich, or very famous?” asked Lin Dong curiously.

”Of course he is both wealthy and famous. He’s Wu Ming, Lord Wu from the Entertainment Circles, the king of Demon City’s entertainment industry. He owns more than a dozen entertainment companies, spanning literature and art, TV, animation, comics... all aspects. His personal net worth is a hundred billion!”

”Many superstars were propelled to fame by him.”

”Now, those top-tier stars, he’s lost count of how many he’s made famous.”

Hearing this, Lin Dong nodded, ”Now I understand; so it’s him.”

Lin Dong knew that there were a few awesome figures in Demon City who had come up from the underclass, including the Gambling King, whom he had met before, and this king of the Entertainment Circles, Wu Ming.

Wu Ming was in no way inferior to the Gambling King, He Sihai.

Both of them had risen from nothing to become people who were widely acclaimed.

”Now you see the power of my Master Falin, right? Even such a heavyweight as Lord Wu seeks him out,” the monk said with some pride.

But Lin Dong let out a cold laugh inside and then said,

”I think he’s just engaged in nonsense!”

Upon hearing these words, the monk’s face changed abruptly.

He pulled Lin Dong aside and warned him in a low voice,

”Mister, what do you mean by that? If you talk like this, you’ll have to leave!”

His expression was unfriendly, for if Master Falin were to hear such words, the monk could be implicated as well.

It could very well result in his being expelled from the temple.

He didn’t want to leave the temple. After all, making money here was as easy as water flowing, and who would want to leave such a place?

At the moment, Lin Dong paid no attention to him and instead looked toward the center of the great hall.

There, Master Falin was performing a ritual for Mr. Wu’s daughter.

Lin Dong could tell at a glance that he wasn’t really performing a ritual; he was actually casting a witch’s curse on Mr. Wu’s daughter.

It seemed that Mr. Wu’s daughter was also born on July 15th and was a target of the ’Yin Witch’s Curse’.

Upon seeing this, Lin Dong couldn’t stand it any longer and spoke out loudly,

”Mr. Wu, if you let your daughter continue to receive treatment from this charlatan of a monk, I’m afraid she won’t live longer than half a month!”

Whoosh!

As soon as these words were uttered, everyone’s expressions changed.

At the moment, everyone was looking toward Lin Dong...
