Chapter 835: Chapter 835 The Way of Inspection

Lin Dong countered, ”What if you lose then?”

”Hahaha...” Li Huanzhen burst into laughter again, ”I cannot lose; I am the top Eastern medicine expert among the younger generation in our country. You are younger than me; there is no way you can win against me.”

”Enough talk, just tell me, what if you lose?” Lin Dong asked in a deep voice.

Li Huanzhen said disdainfully, ”If I lose, do whatever you want with me.”

”Okay,” Lin Dong nodded, ”If you lose, then you will personally hang the Hua Family’s plaque back up. And additionally, you will make a statement, admitting that your ’Eastern Medicine Treasure’ is a plagiarized version of Dragon Country’s major work of Chinese medicine!”

Li Huanzhen’s facial expression changed slightly; as an Eastern medicine practitioner, this was the last thing he wanted to hear.

”What, you don’t want to? Are you scared?” Lin Dong mocked.

Li Huanzhen suddenly laughingly said, ”Me, scared of you? Okay!”

Admitting that ”Eastern Medicine Treasure” was plagiarized from Dragon Country’s major work of Chinese medicine was something he would never do.

However, agreeing to Lin Dong’s bet was no issue.

Because in his view, it was impossible for him to lose.

There wasn’t even a slight chance of him losing.

After the two agreed on the bet, Li Huanzhen asked, ”How shall we compare our skills?”

Lin Dong said, ”The host accommodates the guest, you choose.”

”You’re truly arrogant!”

Did Lin Dong, with his ’up to you’ attitude, really think Li Huanzhen stood no chance against him?

He thought he was haughty enough, but he didn’t expect this kid to be even more so.

Li Huanzhen thought to himself, ”Just wait till you lose, let’s see how arrogant you can be then. By the time you, the leader of the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medicine, publicly admit that Chinese medicine originates from Eastern medicine, you’d better be prepared to become the sinner of Chinese medicine.”

Thinking this, a cold smile appeared on his lips.

”Fine, then let our first battle be the deciding battle!”

”Let’s not bother with any preliminaries; let’s fight it out and determine the winner!”

Li Huanzhen’s strongest suit was ’inspection,’ one of the four diagnostic methods in Chinese medicine.

Diagnosing diseases through ’inspection.’

So he proposed, ”Let’s compare our skills in inspection!”

Lin Dong nodded lightly, ”Fine by me; the result will be the same either way.”

”Hahaha, yes, the result will indeed be the same, you’re going to lose,” Li Huanzhen laughed again, amused by Lin Dong’s words.

Meanwhile, Hua Rong, standing beside them, grew worried. He stepped forward to remind Lin Dong:

”Chief Lin, this Eastern medicine expert Li Huanzhen is especially good at inspection. I just lost to him in inspection.”

”Why don’t you change the method? Your acupuncture technique is excellent; you could compete with him in that.”

Lin Dong shook his head and said, ”There’s no need to worry, Mister Hua.”

”Inspection is also my specialty.”

At this point, the medical competition between the two had also drawn the attention of Lady Hua and the others.

Lady Hua, a Western medicine expert, had heard of the term ’inspection.’ However, in her view, what could inspection possibly reveal? This so-called inspection, compared to the instrument inspections and blood tests in their Western hospitals, seemed utterly obsolete.

Yet at the moment, Lin Dong was competing for the Hua Family’s signboard, so she did not voice any criticism; instead, she internally supported Lin Dong, hoping he could win.

Soon, Lin Dong and Li Huanzhen had worked out the rules for their competition!

They brought in ten patients from the Hua Family’s pharmacy.

Lin Dong and Li Huanzhen were to diagnose each of them through ’inspection.’

Then they would compare the results of their ’inspection.’

They would see whose diagnosis was correct.

They would see who was quicker.

They would see who was more skillful.

Before long, the ten patients were ushered in.

The first patient came forward.

Lady Hua, the Western medicine expert, gazed at the patient. Although she was a Western doctor, she wouldn’t be able to diagnose the ailment without instruments, blood tests, and the like.

”Can they really diagnose the patient’s disease without interrogation, without tests, without X-rays, without MRI?” Lady Hua wondered with some curiosity.

Her eyes widened as she watched the two doctors.

She then saw Lin Dong and Li Huanzhen both look at the first patient.

Instantly, both said in unison, ”I have diagnosed his illness.”

To prevent anyone from following the other’s words, the results were not spoken aloud.

Instead, they were written down for comparison.

In front of each was a table and ten pieces of paper.

They both began writing down their diagnosis for the first patient.

Once the results were noted, Hua Rong opened them in front of both competitors.

Lin Dong wrote, ”This person has a black cauliflower-like thing growing inside his nose. In the ’Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic,’ there is a saying ’Directly below, is the liver.’ I diagnose his disease as liver cancer!”

Li Huanzhen wrote, ”This person has a black cauliflower-like thing growing inside his nose. I diagnose him with liver cancer.”

The two pieces of paper were opened, and the results were exactly the same.

At this moment, Lady Hua was deeply surprised as she checked the patient’s medical records.

The diagnosis in the medical records was indeed the same as the one given by Lin Dong and Li Huanzhen.

”My God, this inspection method is miraculous. Without any tests, without any instrument examination, just a glance can reveal the symptoms,” Lady Hua exclaimed in amazement.

And what astounded her even more was yet to come...
