Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 673: Chapter 673: The Biggest Bully

These people all regarded Lin Dong as a fat sheep ready for slaughter, and they all ”welcomed” him.

Lin Dong smiled, scratched his head, and said, ”This is my first time playing, I might not be very good at it, so please go easy on me!”

Seeing this, everyone’s eyes grew brighter, and the greed in their eyes looked like it was about to jump out.

Lin Dong deliberately asked everyone how to play, pretending to be a complete novice.

The game they were playing was ”Three Cards.”

It was a game where each player drew three cards from a deck of playing cards and compared their sizes.

From all the betters, one would be chosen to be the banker. The others would bet, and how much they staked determined how much they could win or lose.

If anyone’s three cards added up to eleven points, then the payout would be doubled.

After listening to everyone explaining the rules, Lin Dong said, ”How about I be the banker, how does that sound?”

Everyone was eager for Lin Dong to be the banker so that they could win more money from him.

Zeng Xiaoniu was the first one to shout, ”Sure, Lin Dong, you be the banker. It’s the most fun and interesting role!”

The rest of the players chimed in as well.

”Yes, yes, yes, Lin Dong, being the banker is the most fun!”

”It’s also the easiest to win, if we have the same points, then the banker wins.”

”If the banker has three cards equalling eleven points, then it’s a clean sweep!”

”...”

Lin Dong chuckled inwardly but pretended to be clueless on the surface, nodding and saying, ”Okay, then I’ll be the banker.”

”Ah Lang, bring over my money!”

Ah Lang nodded, and then brought over a few boxes of money from the car.

When opened, they were all bundles of hundred-yuan bills.

”Here’s five million, feel free to bet as much as you like,” Lin Dong said.

Everyone involuntarily gasped, their eyes brimming with greed that could barely be suppressed. They almost couldn’t wait to win all of Lin Dong’s money.

”Let’s get started, quick!” Everyone urged, wanting to begin as soon as possible.

Lin Dong nodded and started playing with them.

Lin Dong shuffled the cards, then dealt them.

During the first few rounds, Lin Dong intentionally lost.

In the initial rounds, everyone made more tentative and smaller bets.

So even though they won, they didn’t win much.

”Damn, I really regret it; I should have bet more!”

”Bet more in the next round.”

”I’m going to make a fortune today.”

”...”

Afterward, their bets grew larger and larger.

Lin Dong continued his strategy of laying long lines to catch big fish.

And kept losing.

Soon, out of the five million, he had directly lost one million!

This one million was won by the crowd, some winning more, up to a hundred thousand, others winning less, but still several thousand.

Seeing this, more and more people became jealous.

Even Zeng Xiaoniu’s step-mother, a rural woman, couldn’t help but start betting. She placed her bet with her son, Xiaoniu, wanting to share the spoils.

Lin Dong sneered and continued to play with them.

He wasn’t in a rush to close his net yet.

Because he was still waiting for someone.

Soon, the events here also spread.

Not long after, a man driving an Audi arrived.

This man was about thirty, with a buzz cut, tattoos on his arms, and a large stature.

He had a thick gold chain dangling from his neck.

As soon as he arrived, he greeted Lin Dong with a laugh, ”Yo, isn’t that Lin Dong? Haven’t seen you in years and now you’re doing well for yourself.”

Lin Dong turned to him.

Everyone called this man Da Fei.

This Da Fei was also the biggest bully in the village. The previously mentioned Shou Hou used to hang around with him.

All the bullies and ruffians in the village took him as their leader.

He was eight or nine years older than Lin Dong. When Lin Dong was still studying, Da Fei often led people like Shou Hou to bully Lin Dong and extort from him.

At that time, Lin Dong’s greatest wish was to bring him down and make him get the punishment he deserved.

But back then, Lin Dong hadn’t started cultivating and was just an ordinary student. How could he possibly stand a chance against this gang of bullies and hoodlums?

Da Fei, however, had backers.

He had several older sisters whose marriages were all quite successful. They were married to some well-known figures in the county.

His eldest brother-in-law worked in the War Department of the county, holding the position of a captain and commanding hundreds of men. He was Da Fei’s biggest backer.

Besides that, his second brother-in-law was a known tycoon in the county, a coal boss who had contracted a coal mountain!

His third brother-in-law was also impressive, serving as the Deputy Town Head.

With these three brothers-in-law backing him up, he managed to be oppressive and domineering up to this day.

The news of Lin Dong distributing money had also reached his ears, which is why he specifically came to have a look.

To his surprise, upon arriving, he found that Lin Dong and the villagers were playing cards together, and from the looks of it, losing quite a lot.

He too planned to make a quick buck.

At this moment, Lin Dong finally saw the person he had been waiting for.

He smiled and said, ”Ah, it’s Brother Da Fei, long time no see.”

”Ha ha, Lin Dong, you’ve become much smarter than before. No wonder you’ve made a fortune. By the looks of it, you’ve made at least tens of millions, right?” Da Fei asked Lin Dong while puffing on a cigar.

Honestly, only those worth tens of millions could catch Da Fei’s attention. Of course, they barely made his cut.

Lin Dong shrugged and said, ”Brother Da Fei, who are you looking down on? This year when I came back to the village, I spent nearly thirty million on red packets and gifts. If I only made tens of millions, would I be giving so much away?”

Hearing this, Da Fei’s eyelids twitched and he inquired, ”Then, have you made hundreds of millions?”

A billionaire was rare even for Da Fei to encounter. His second brother-in-law was a famous coal boss in the county, but the real money he could use was only several tens of millions.

Lin Dong nodded and said, ”Not much, I just made several billion last year!”

He didn’t say much, just mentioned several billion. Mainly to ’fish’, to lure the fish to the hook.

”What, several billion?” Da Fei’s grip on his cigar faltered, and with a tremor, it fell to the ground.

Meanwhile, Xiaoniu, his mother, and others around him all took a sharp intake of breath.

There had never been a billionaire from the village!

And Lin Dong was the first!
