Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 658: Chapter 658: Mother’s Corpse is Missing

The next day, early in the morning, Lin Dong went with Bai Jue and Qiao Bing to pay tribute to his mother.

Soon, the three of them arrived in front of the tombstone.

”Mom, your son has come to see you.”

Kneeling before his mother’s tombstone, Lin Dong, in his life, knelt to neither heaven nor earth, only to his mother.

By his side, both Bai Jue and Qiao Bing wore a green bracelet on their hands, Lin Dong later gave the other bracelet to Qiao Bing.

At the moment, the two women knelt beside Lin Dong, one on each side.

Lin Dong then took out the letter that Daoist Master Qing Shan gave him yesterday.

He took out the second letter.

The seal on this second letter read, ”Open when my son becomes a Stage Five Grandmaster.”

Although Lin Dong had not yet reached the strength of a Stage Five Grandmaster, he now had the qualifications to open this letter.

After opening the letter, he found many things written inside.

The first was about Lin Dong’s origins.

In this letter, his mother informed him of his father Lin Zhantian’s identity and their ties with the Lin Family from the Capital City.

These were almost identical to what he had discovered from his own investigations.

Beyond that, it also detailed everything his mother encountered as they fled from the Capital to Jiangbei.

It described in detail how his grandfather, uncles, and others died protecting them.

It told of the initial betrayal by that servant Chen Beiming!

It also recounted the enemies that came to pursue and kill them during their flight.

In addition, during their escape, they had also encountered kind people who helped them.

”Dongzi, when you are strong, take vengeance for the grudges and repay the kindness. Miss not a single one!!!”

Afterward, his mother wrote some words of concern for him. She reminded him to take good care of himself.

If he found someone he loved, he was to give them the bracelet as a token of commitment.

In the end, his mother also mentioned his father, saying that his father was still alive and that after taking revenge, he should go find his father.

After reading the letter, Lin Dong couldn’t help but red eyes welled up.

”Mom, after the New Year, I will go to Jiangbei and take revenge for grandfather, uncle, and the others. Chen Beiming, as well as the old enemies who pursued and tried to kill us mother and son, I will let none of them go!!!”

”And to those who have shown us kindness, I will repay them.”

”As for the Lin family from the Capital, once I go to Jiangbei and take my revenge, I will enter the Capital. For what happened to us then, I will seek justice...” Lin Dong’s voice was very low as he spoke these words, but the overwhelming intent to kill they revealed caused the temperature around him to plummet.

”Sister Bai Jue, Sister Bing, please go back to Qing Shan observatory first. I want to stay here alone and keep my mother company a little longer, to talk with her.”

Lin Dong said to Bai Jue and Qiao Bing, who were still kneeling on the ground, in a gentle voice.

The two women looked at Lin Dong at this moment with a lot of heartache.

In their eyes, Lin Dong had always been shielding them from the wind and rain. It seemed there was nothing he couldn’t solve, yet such a mountain-like man today had red eyes from crying.

”Mm-hmm, we will wait for you over there. Dongzi, don’t be too sad, your mother’s spirit in heaven wouldn’t want to see you like this,” said Sister Bai Jue in a gentle voice.

Qiao Bing comforted him as well, ”Lin Dong, if your heart aches and you miss your mother, then cry your heart out today. When I felt bad in the past, I would often cry alone at night. After crying, I felt much better.”

After speaking, the two women walked toward the side.

However, they hadn’t gone far when suddenly Qiao Bing shouted loudly, ”Lin Dong, that... that soil seems freshly turned over?”

Hearing this, Lin Dong immediately froze.

He looked in the direction Qiao Bing pointed.

Indeed, he saw a patch of earth behind the tombstone that had been recently disturbed.

Lin Dong’s face instantly changed, ”Who has disturbed my mother’s grave!”

At that moment, he activated his X-Ray ability.

He instantly saw clearly the situation inside the coffin under the grave, and to his shock, he discovered that the coffin was empty, without his mother’s corpse.

”What’s going on?” Lin Dong’s face turned pale, ”Where is my mother’s corpse?”

”Who stole my mother’s corpse!”

That moment, he radiated an overwhelming killing intent. Because of the killing intent emanating from him, a gust of wind stirred around the area.

That moment, he wished he could turn the whole world upside down.

Qiao Bing quickly said, ”Lin Dong, keep calm, could there be another possibility? It’s not that aunty’s body has been stolen, but rather...”

”But what?” Lin Dong urgently asked.

”But, it’s possible that aunty didn’t die? She... she left here on her own!! I’ve seen that a lot in movies,” explained Qiao Bing.

Upon hearing these words, Lin Dong was taken aback.

The Lin Dong, who was just radiating waves of intense killing intent, suddenly calmed down.

Even a hint of surprise sparkled in his eyes.

Because he suddenly felt that there might really be such a possibility!

At that moment, he remembered an odd incident after his mother’s death.

Several days had passed after his mother’s death before the funeral was held, and during that time, her corpse had not decayed at all.

It was as if she were merely asleep!

Thinking back now, it indeed was very weird.

Could it be, Lin Dong’s mother, just as Qiao Bing said, had not died? After being buried, she woke up and left the coffin by herself?

If it had been before, Lin Dong might not have considered these things. But now it was different, his broad knowledge included awareness of numerous fake death methods. Just by taking a special medicine, one could fall into a deep sleep. Some medicines could even induce a state of slumber for several years!

Was Lin Dong’s mother like this?

Did she use some method or take some kind of medicine to fake her death? Then, after sleeping for a while, did she leave the coffin?

But if this hypothesis were true, why would she do that?

Now, where is she? And where has she gone?
