Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1556: Chapter 889: Hong Lei and Li Ruohan

There’s no doubt that even within Mengya, Jin Shirong was hated by everyone.

In truth, the people of Mengya had suffered under Jin Shirong for a very long time.

Jin Shirong was lustful to the point of madness; any woman he took a fancy to, no matter her status, could not escape.

Among these people, it was very possible that someone’s friend, or even family member, had been ruined by Jin Shirong.

So when they heard that Jin Shirong was dead, not only did they feel no sadness, they instead showed delight at the very first moment.

Liang Yuan was also a bit stunned; he hadn’t expected Jin Shirong’s reputation to be this bad even on his own turf.

Chen Xu, upon hearing that Jin Shirong was dead, did not show any anger or grief; instead, he looked as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

He looked at Liang Yuan, and without any hesitation, directly put the Parasite Species in his hand into his mouth.

Before he could do anything, that Parasite Species drilled straight into the space between his eyebrows.

The next moment, the Parasite Species settled down in his sea of consciousness, pitching camp and taking root completely.

Liang Yuan then turned his gaze to the other people from Mengya Company.

These people didn’t hesitate; one after another, they consciously swallowed the Parasite Species.

Very soon, all of Mengya’s upper echelon had been implanted with Parasite Species; only then did Liang Yuan say, “Good. Since all of you are willing to join Yangshan, then from now on you must acknowledge Yangshan’s principles.”

“In Yangshan, we do not practice Mengya’s cold law of the jungle.”

“Yangshan is a warm big family; we are a Shelter with order, with rules, and with human warmth.”

“Here, we will grant every person equal rights; even ordinary people should live with dignity.”

“They are not to become someone’s property, someone’s plaything!”

“On this point, I want you to remember it clearly from this moment on.”

“Next, I need you to wear Energy-Sealing Handcuffs, return to being ordinary people, and spend a month adapting to Yangshan’s rules!”

“During this one month, you must perform normal labor and service, creating basic value for Yangshan.”

…

Liang Yuan gave these people a round of ideological education.

Of course, mere verbal scolding was definitely useless.

These people were Mengya’s upper echelon, the beneficiaries of the former law-of-the-jungle system.

So to make them change and adapt to Yangshan’s rules would definitely take some Time.

This sort of thing had to be handed over to Granny Li and the others in the propaganda department.

Liang Yuan only said a few brief words, then had Gu Feng and the others escort these people onto the ship, preparing to transport them to the Floating Island above Yangshan Island to perform service.

He spent a full two or three days remaining in Mengya handling affairs.

Fortunately there were still people like Wang Ling’Er and James around, so he didn’t need to handle everything personally; for the most part they only needed him to make decisions on the major issues.

At this point, there was no way they could let Mengya’s own people manage Mengya anymore.

James summoned quite a few personnel over from Kerry Technology to help manage Mengya’s current territory.

Meanwhile, Wang Ling’Er and the others were entrusted with heavy responsibility by Liang Yuan, charged with supervising the people from Kerry Technology.

In this way, it formed a structure where people from Kerry Technology managed Mengya’s people, while Yangshan’s people managed Kerry Technology’s people.

For now it would be like this; once the situation was completely stabilized in the future, Liang Yuan would naturally reshuffle these personnel assignments, doing his best to erase the factional brands from everyone and turn them all into Yangshan people.

There was another point: the distance from Yangshan Island to here was still too far.

Next, Yangshan Island and the Floating Island would both need to migrate this way.

The south was flooded everywhere, and indeed was no longer suitable for remaining.

In Liang Yuan’s mind, the Northward Plan surfaced.

Of course, that was all something for later.

With Jin Shirong’s death, Mengya Company was completely destroyed.

The Floating Island Island Lords of Mengya Company, who had previously been watching the situation, were already panicking.

At this moment, on a Floating Island above Ji’an City, a group of people had gathered.

This Floating Island was called Thunder Punishment Island; the main island lay very close to the Thundercloud.

The island was covered by a Lightning Defense Shield, rumbling all year round.

This Thunder Punishment Island was one of the territories of the Thunder Law King, Mr. Hong, one of Mengya’s Ten Board Members.

Within this island stood a massive city.

The city’s population was not large, probably only a few thousand.

At this moment, in a stone hall at the very center of the city, four gene recombination experts had gathered.

The four gene recombination experts were split into two groups.

One group was an old man and a beauty.

The old man was about sixty-something, with a stern face and gray beard, dressed in a blue robe embroidered with Mengya’s emblem.

Beside him stood a beauty of about twenty-seven or twenty-eight.

The woman had a fine figure, wore a simple set of sportswear, and had a White lace-edged cap on her head.

In her arms, she was holding a little kitten.

At this moment, she was gently stroking the kitten’s back; it looked like she was playing with the little cat, but in fact all her attention was focused on the two people opposite her.

Opposite them stood a woman with an excellent figure and a stunning face.

At the woman’s side was a young girl with an equally fine figure.

These two were none other than Li Ting from Yangshan Island, and one of her subordinates whom she had subdued, Huang Ying.

Huang Ying, like Li Ting, had been rescued by Liang Yuan from Jin Shirong’s Sumeru Ring.

When Liang Yuan went to attack Mengya, Li Ting originally wanted to go along.

But Liang Yuan asked her, if her old friends came to kill the Yangshan people, what would she do?

Li Ting fell silent on the spot.

So in the end she didn’t follow Liang Yuan to attack Mengya, but was instead sent by Liang Yuan to bring the Floating Island Island Lords of Mengya to heel.

Li Ting’s first stop was Hundred Flowers Island.

The Island Lord of Hundred Flowers Island was called Li Ruohan, the beauty holding the cat.

Seeing Li Ting, Li Ruohan was also taken aback.

Li Ting wanted to persuade her to surrender to Yangshan, but Li Ruohan was jealous of Jin Shirong’s favoritism toward Li Ting; not only did she refuse to listen to Li Ting’s persuasion, she even started a fight with Li Ting.

It turned out Li Ruohan actually had real feelings for Jin Shirong, so toward Li Ting, whom Jin Shirong favored, she felt intense hatred.

The two fought a fierce battle; Li Ruohan was no match for Li Ting. This former “Demonic-Eye Enchantress” relied on her powerful Spiritual Power to chase down the Wood Attribute Li Ruohan all the way.

In her haste, Li Ruohan fled all the way to Thunder Punishment Island.

And the owner of this Thunder Punishment Island was precisely the old man before them, the Lightning Dharma King, Hong Lei!

“Mr. Hong, what more do I have to say before you’ll give up resisting?”

Li Ting’s expression darkened slightly as she spoke.

Hong Lei’s old face was calm as he asked, “Mr. Li, you’ve actually mistaken one thing.”

“Hm? What do you mean?” Li Ting asked with a frown.

Hong Lei said blandly, “Whether I give up resistance or not doesn’t really matter. The one deciding your fate and mine right now is neither you nor me.”

“It’s Chi Mountain over there. Tell me, am I right or not?”

Hearing this, Li Ting also fell silent for a moment.

Indeed, no matter what choice Hong Lei made, if Jin Shirong didn’t die, then no matter what she said today, Hong Lei could never betray Jin Shirong.

Otherwise what awaited him would be death, nothing else.

Hong Lei turned and walked toward a stone bench to the side, saying, “Everyone, before the outcome over there is decided, I don’t think we need to be so tense with blades drawn and bows bent.”

“There’s absolutely no point to it, is there?”

“Why not sit together, chat a bit, drink some tea—wouldn’t that be better?”

Huang Ying turned her head to look at Li Ting, waiting for Li Ting to decide.

Li Ting smiled and said, “Mr. Hong really is someone who’s been around; faced with trouble he stays unflustered. Just this mentality alone is something us youngsters could spend a lifetime learning.”

Hong Lei laughed and said, “Unflustered in the face of change? It’s nothing but helplessness.”

“Man is the cleaver and chopping board, I am the fish and meat upon it, that’s all.”

“Miss Ruohan, you should sit down and rest a bit too.”

Li Ruohan glanced at Li Ting, let out a cold snort, and silently sat down on a stone bench not far away.

Li Ting took Huang Ying and also sat on the stone bench opposite.

The four sat facing one another. Li Ting opened her mouth and said, “Since we’re all just waiting anyway, Li Ruohan, could you let Liu Qinghong out?”

“Just as Mr. Hong said, we’re all fish on the board now. You don’t need to make things hard on Liu Qinghong, do you?”

Hearing this, Li Ruohan looked at Hong Lei.

Hong Lei merely smiled slightly and said, “Director Li, Director Liu can’t be released for the time being.”

“If Director Jin happens to win, we’ll have to keep fighting afterward. If we let Director Liu out now, wouldn’t that just give you an extra helping hand?”

Hearing this, Li Ruohan also nodded and said, “Li Ting, don’t try to sweet-talk me, I’m not falling for it.”

“I may not know why Liu Qinghong got bewitched like she did, dead loyal to that Liang guy, but I certainly won’t let her out so easily.”

Li Ting frowned and said, “Liu Qinghong is at least an old acquaintance of yours. You two knew each other even before the apocalypse. You really feel no nostalgia at all? You can bring yourself to lay hands on an old friend?”

Li Ruohan immediately let out a cold laugh. “If she weren’t an old acquaintance of mine, you think she’d still be alive?”

“Hmph. Precisely because I have decent ties with her, I only knocked her out instead of taking her life.”

“Once Director Jin kills that Liang and wipes out this so-called Yangshan, I’ll naturally let her out.”

Li Ting sneered, “How do you know Jin Shirong is definitely going to win?”

“Ha, how strong Director Jin is, others might not know, but you don’t?”

“He’s got countless avatars; even without his main body showing up, he’s already standing in an invincible position.”

“Now he’s obtained your Yangshan’s Sealing Array. Tell me, how could he possibly lose?”

Li Ting’s gaze grew gloomy as she said, “Without absolute confidence, you think the Yangshan people would dare go to Mengya’s headquarters?”

“I know how formidable Mr. Liang is as well. He absolutely wouldn’t do something he wasn’t sure of.”

“Since he dares go to Mengya’s headquarters, he must have the confidence to kill Jin Shirong.”

Li Ruohan let out a sharp laugh. “I really don’t know whether to call you stupid or say you’ve got terrible judgment. Back when Director Jin was still weak, if you’d paid even a little attention to him and cultivated him a bit, he wouldn’t have kicked you out of Mengya.”

“Now you’re being stupid again, putting your faith in this Liang who doesn’t know how high the heavens are or how deep the earth is. It’s really… heh.”

Li Ting gave Li Ruohan a faint look and said, “You think Jin Shirong kicked me out of Mengya because I didn’t value him back then?”

“Heh, let me tell you, men like him lust like their life depends on it. As long as he has Power, he’ll do whatever the hell he wants.”

“He imprisoned me purely because he coveted my beauty.”

“Oh, right, you probably can’t understand that—after all, you rack your brains trying to climb into his bed, and he might not even spare you a glance.”

“No, that’s not quite right. I remember now, it seems you were already with him right when the Great Flood began.”

“Tsk tsk, so what, now he’s got three thousand beauties in his harem, so many women taking turns in his bed, and he still hasn’t raised you up, made you Empress of his harem?”

Li Ting’s sneering mockery practically stabbed straight into Li Ruohan’s soft spot, making Li Ruohan spring to her feet in an instant.

“You’re asking for death!”
