Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1468: Chapter 801: Yangshan Flooded

“Did you move everything from home?”

After a while, Liang Yuan sighed and asked.

Dong Yan nodded: “It’s all moved out, Old Ma and the others helped us build a villa at Little Straw Mountain. The layout inside is the same as here, but I always feel something is missing.”

Dong Yan felt a bit sad; she really missed the days at Yangshan.

Liang Yuan gently rubbed her head and said, “As long as we’re together, anywhere can be home.”

“Do you want to go underwater again?”

Dong Yan’s eyes lit up: “Sure.”

Liang Yuan smiled, immediately put an arm around her waist, and instructed everyone to wait here for a while.

Then he activated his superpower, forming an energy shield around himself and Dong Yan, and the two dove underwater.

In the floodwaters, the waves flowed, seemingly clear and transparent due to long absence of human pollution.

Mutant fish swam freely around, but upon seeing Liang Yuan and Dong Yan, they immediately turned and fled.

Now, with Liang Yuan’s strength, these mutated creatures posed no threat anymore.

These mutant fish now seemed no different from ordinary fish before the great flood.

Even if Liang Yuan reached out to let them bite, they couldn’t hurt him.

Underwater, algae spread, and most trees had already withered.

Dong Yan couldn’t help but remark, “These trees are dead now.”

Liang Yuan touched the trees, sighed: “When the flood broke out, most species began to choose the direction of evolution. These trees on the mountain, not coming into contact with floodwaters, did not evolve towards underwater survival.”

“Now that the flood has spread, it’s too late for them to evolve again, and their fate is just what we see now.”

Dong Yan looked up and said, “Just like if I hadn’t determinedly trusted Brother Liang back then, you wouldn’t have gone to Building 75 to rescue me?”

Liang Yuan was amused; girls are always sentimental.

In fact, back then Liang Yuan was expanding his team to catch fish for points.

Whether or not Dong Yan was involved, he would have chosen to rescue people in that building.

But since Dong Yan asked, Liang Yuan naturally gave her the answer she wanted.

“Of course.”

“Hehe.”

Dong Yan laughed happily.

While chatting, the two had arrived at what was once the complex.

The rooms carved into the mountain wall were still there, but various materials from the Fire Bamboo Forest nearby had been moved out.

Even housing in the Sunshine District had been mostly dismantled.

The Fire Bamboo Forest outside had been entirely excavated.

Liang Yuan was astonished: “Why did they dig out so much?”

Dong Yan immediately covered her mouth and chuckled, “Everyone thought Yangshan would be submerged anyway, so these fire bamboos would drown. Instead, it’s better to transplant them into Mirage Snake Space.”

“And you don’t know, when the water level rose, everyone panicked, even moving stone houses.”

“Little Straw Mountain has strict regulations; stones, bamboo forests, and trees cannot be cut arbitrarily.”

“So they directly moved these from Yangshan to build houses.”

Liang Yuan chuckled helplessly but quickly asked, “Wasn’t Little Straw Mountain supposed to prohibit private construction?”

Old Ma had discussed with Liang Yuan before; there weren’t many peaks in Mirage Snake Space, and Little Straw Mountain was the tallest.

Everyone eventually decided to build all shelter facilities on Little Straw Mountain.

This gave Little Straw Mountain not just the status of a mountain but also political significance.

So everyone competed for space on Little Straw Mountain, knowing if developed, it would inevitably become the center of the shelter.

Large complexes, various Sunshine rooms, would all be built around Little Straw Mountain.

So, from the start, Old Ma had suggested prohibiting private land use, letting the architecture department plan and build everything.

Liang Yuan had agreed back then.

Now hearing Dong Yan, Liang Yuan felt peculiar.

If houses weren’t allowed on Little Straw Mountain, why were people transporting bamboo, wood, and stone?

Dong Yan laughed: “You can’t build on Little Straw Mountain, but the water level in Mirage Snake Space isn’t as deep as outside. In many places, the water is low, especially near Little Straw Mountain.”

“Many clever folks reclaimed land by the sea near Little Straw Mountain, building houses. If the architecture department hadn’t stopped it quickly, Little Straw Mountain could have expanded.”

Liang Yuan was speechless, truly, with more people comes complex management; someone always has a crafty idea.

Liang Yuan had discussed with Yangshan’s leaders before.

Floating Islands can only reduce weight, not add weight.

Because the buoyancy of Floating Islands is fixed; adding too much weight will inevitably cause it to sink.

Thus, this rule was established.

Now, Mirage Snake Space’s increased population already adds a huge burden.

For this, Li Qinghua specifically released substantial floodwaters to maintain balance in Mirage Snake Space.

If unrestricted, letting shelter residents bring in various items, Mirage Snake Space would eventually become unsustainable.

Currently, to reduce weight, Mirage Snake Space has only residential and farming functions.

Production equipment, mechanical factories, these projects have moved to Floating Islands like Dark Abyss Mouth.

This helps share the pressure on Mirage Snake Space.

Thinking of this, Liang Yuan immediately asked, “Now that the ice has melted, have Floating Islands like Dark Abyss Mouth and Mist City arrived yet?”

Dong Yan nodded and said, “They’re on their way, but the Floating Islands move slowly, so it’ll be a few more days before they get here.”

“What’s the situation over at Guangfu?” Liang Yuan asked.

“Everything that needed to be moved has been moved. But among the mountains like Cangqiong Mountain and Cangfu Mountain, except for Cangqiong Mountain which hasn’t been fully submerged, the other mountains are all underwater.”

“There are still plenty of Superpower Stone resources in the mountains, but now we can only do mining operations underwater.”

“Speaking of which, there’s been a surge in underwater mining over at Guangfu.”

It turned out that as the floodwaters submerged these mountains, Yangshan completely abandoned these peaks, and the Floating Islands of Miyuan Rainforest, Cloud Mist Island, and Yellow Earth Divine Origin were also slowly drifting towards Yangshan.

However, although Yangshan abandoned the vast amount of Superpower Stones in these mountains, the residents in the shelter did not give up.

To them, if they could mine steadily, they could earn lots of Superpower Stones, which would be a stable source of income.

This was much less dangerous than going out to hunt Mutant Beasts, with little risk involved, as long as you had hands.

As a result, many people sailed to the water surface near the original mountain mine holes, built platforms, and began underwater mining operations there.

At first, it was only the Water Attribute Superpower Users who worked quietly, but once these Water Attribute Superpower Users became rich, even able to move their families into the core area of the Floating Island and afford various rune devices, even enter the Spirit Gathering Tower, others finally caught on.

Then, ordinary Superpower Users from the Floating Islands of Yellow Earth Divine Origin, Miyuan Rainforest, and Cloud Mist Island also organized and began the great task of underwater mining.

And because of this, now within the entire Yangshan power range, Water-Repelling Runes and other Rune Stones have been inflated to sky-high prices, and all masters who can make Talisman Stones stay home focused solely on inscribing Water-Repelling Runes, Water Spirit Runes, and similar Talisman Stones, earning a fortune as well.

In summary, although the floodwaters are rising, submerging everyone’s original homes.

People don’t seem to be getting depressed because of this; instead, they’ve exploded with an even stronger survival instinct.

Listening to Dong Yan’s description, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but laugh and cry.

“Well, in any case, those mountains underwater contain a large number of Superpower Stones; leaving them would be a waste, and we need a lot of Superpower Stones for the spaceship, sentinels, or base defense shields next.”

“Let them go mine,” Liang Yuan smiled and said.

And all he had to provide was some supplies.

After all, when these people sold their Superpower Stones and earned points, they would eventually spend them in the various Yangshan complexes.

And most of the supplies in the complexes are exchanged by Liang Yuan.

Of course, with the various equipment now developed in Yangshan, many factories have also begun operating.

The Yangshan Complex’s many supplies no longer need to rely on Liang Yuan’s system to exchange; they can be produced directly.

Only some complicated craft items still need to be exchanged from the system by Liang Yuan, other supplies Yangshan can completely self-sufficiently produce.

The two of them wandered underwater, reminiscing about the stone cave rooms they once lived in, and finally returned to Gouwu Pavilion.

Dong Jie and the others came up to them.

“Mr. Liang, with the current rate of floodwater rise, Gouwu Pavilion will eventually be submerged; when that happens, we’ll have to evacuate entirely,” Han Ben said.

He was the captain on duty at Gouwu Pavilion this time.

Liang Yuan nodded slightly and said, “Evacuate then, Yangshan being submerged is a matter of time.”

“Has the Spirit Gathering Tower been moved?”

“Yes, it’s already been moved to Little Straw Mountain,” Han Ben said.

Liang Yuan nodded, “That’s fine, let’s go to Little Straw Mountain.”

“Yes.”

Han Ben found a warship, and several people boarded, starting to head towards the direction of Mirage Snake Space.

After sailing for not even a few kilometers, they saw the once endless water surface gradually filled with numerous fishing boats, warships, and battleships.

Liang Yuan even saw the enormous form of the former President No. 7!

Seeing this scene, Liang Yuan immediately laughed.

“What are they doing?”

“Sir, the battleships and warships are training on the water, while the ordinary fishing boats are catching Mutant Fish,” Han Ben smiled and said.

“After passing this water area, we’ll be there.”

Liang Yuan looked up, indeed sensing a slight distortion in the space ahead.

That was caused by the spatial barrier of the Mirage Snake Space.

The warship sped forward, not stopping upon encountering the distorted space ahead, but crashing straight into it.

Suddenly, the space before them showed a slight sense of distortion, revealing a vast but serene lake-like water surface.

On the water surface, a large number of ships of various sizes were moored.

Han Ben explained, “Mr. Liang, this is a civilian port, exclusively opening a spatial channel for civilian ships to use for access.”

“In the event of combat, this spatial channel will be closed immediately.”

“And about twenty kilometers from here, there’s a military spatial channel, which is our Yangshan naval fleet’s dedicated port.”

“There are four naval fleet dedicated ports in total, located in four directions, allowing us to first organize an effective counterattack regardless of which direction the enemy attacks from.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly and said, “When I have time, I’ll go see the site.”

“Okay.”

During their conversation, the warship had already passed through the civilian port and entered the underwater area ahead, with a distant mountain peak standing proudly above the lake surface.

In the darkness, it was like a bright light, illuminating the hearts of everyone in the Mirage Snake Space, guiding them home.

That was where Little Straw Mountain was located.

Since there was no light in the Mirage Snake Space, many Mutated Sunflowers had been planted on the summit of Little Straw Mountain, creating this lighthouse effect.
