Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 839: Chapter 309: Dong Yan’s Confession

When they returned home, Yang Mei and Song Wen came back together.

Song Wen couldn’t help but say, ”Brother Liang, I should have gone with you this time.”

Liang Yuan laughed, ”Yangshan Shelter needs you more, so many things at the Plantation are waiting for you. If you leave, the Plantation won’t run smoothly.”

Song Wen felt a bit helpless, torn between her reluctance to part with Liang Yuan and her happiness at being needed by the Shelter.

In the past, she still had to beg Liang Yuan for bread; it was Liang Yuan who taught her to be self-reliant.

Now she had truly achieved that, step by step, becoming an irreplaceable figure at the Yangshan Plantation.

However, Liang Yuan was her first love and also her only man; she loved being close to Liang Yuan.

In the past, she would see him every day even if she wasn’t the one to share a bed with him that night. She would find a way to come back at noon to share a moment with Liang Yuan.

Now that Liang Yuan was going on this trip, with no idea how many days it would be before they’d meet again, she couldn’t help but feel reluctant.

Liang Yuan smiled, ”This trip won’t be long, I should be back in a week at most. We need you here at Yangshan; I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving it to someone else.”

Song Wen hugged him, saying coquettishly, ”I just can’t bear to be without you.”

Liang Yuan blinked and said, ”Will you sleep with me tonight?”

Song Wen was taken aback and instinctively said, ”Isn’t tonight Sister Mei’s turn?”

Liang Yuan chuckled and whispered in her ear, ”Together, Sister Mei won’t mind.”

Song Wen’s face turned red instantly, and she shoved him away in embarrassment, ”No, let’s not.”

Liang Yuan sighed, ”We won’t see each other for a week, aren’t you willing to spend the last night with me?”

Song Wen pouted, feeling a bit conflicted.

Yet the thought of the three of them together in bed made her feel awkward and shy, it was so embarrassing.

While they were talking, Yang Mei had already started cooking.

The continuous sound of cooking came from the kitchen.

This time, Yang Mei made several servings because she knew Liang Yuan’s Storage Space could keep them warm.

She planned to make dozens of dishes for Liang Yuan to store in the Dimension Space.

That way, whenever Liang Yuan wanted to eat, he could just take it out.

This way, even if she wasn’t with her little brother, he could still eat her homemade meals every day.

This thought made Yang Mei feel incredibly happy.

However, little did she know that someone had already backstabbed her, planning a three-way battle for the night.

The lunch was sumptuous, and Dong Yan came back to eat.

Obviously, Dong Yan had gotten the news and knew that Liang Yuan was going on a long trip, so she couldn’t help but want to see Liang Yuan more at home.

During the meal, Dong Yan couldn’t help but ask, ”Brother Liang, why aren’t you taking me with you this time?”

Liang Yuan laughed, ”Your tasks at Yangshan are not easy. I’m planning to establish a monitoring agency, and when I come back, I want to see the results of your investigations during this time.”

”If you do well, I will assign you to manage this monitoring agency.”

Dong Yan was momentarily stunned, then looked delighted, ”Oh? Really? Is that true?”

Liang Yuan smiled gently, ”Of course, it’s true.”

Song Wen and Yang Mei also became curious and asked about the monitoring agency.

Liang Yuan briefly explained the functions of the monitoring agency.

The two immediately became serious, and Song Wen nodded in agreement, ”Self-monitoring is indeed essential; I’ve also noticed some of the plantation aunties have been quite lax lately, exhibiting a disregard for discipline.”

Liang Yuan raised his eyebrows and asked, ”What’s going on?”

Song Wen sighed, ”Some plantation employees sometimes take a few vegetables for themselves, although it’s not much, it still violates the rules.”

”But because many of the employees are older, they have a natural tendency to take small advantages, and I find it hard to confront them.”

”Now that I hear you’re setting up a monitoring agency, I think it’s an excellent idea to have someone independent from their department do this job, though offending people, it indeed brings great benefits to managing the entire Yangshan Shelter.”

Liang Yuan, after hearing this, felt a weight in his heart, realizing the seeds of corruption had already started to sprout.

Even though Song Wen spoke casually, just mentioning employees snagging a few vegetable leaves.

But this kind of behavior had started, today it’s just a little vegetable leaf, but what if someday there’s a bumper harvest in Meishan’s fields, if a granary is established, would they start taking some grain home?

It seems his decision to build a monitoring agency is undoubtedly the right one.

Yang Mei couldn’t help but add, ”Actually, there have been some signs at the shopping center too, which I’ve yet to handle.”

”Recently, when checking inventory, I found the accounts for some loose rice, flour, and other items were off, there were discrepancies between the sold weight and the displayed weight, maybe some staff secretly took away some rice and flour too.”

”Although it’s not much, it’s possible this is happening. I’ve been wanting to find an opportunity to inspect thoroughly, but there’s just never been time.”

”Despite repeatedly emphasizing the importance of discipline, these issues persist. I genuinely think your idea of a monitoring agency is very necessary.”

Liang Yuan, listening to Yang Mei, frowned even more.

He said in a serious tone, ”Looks like surveillance in both the shopping center and the Plantation needs to be installed.”

”These issues of insider theft cannot be tolerated, and establishing a monitoring agency is urgent.”

Liang Yuan thought for a moment, looking at Dong Yan, ”Yanyan, you heard what your Sister Mei and Sister Wenwen just said, right?”
