Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Young Lin Feng

“`

The night was deep.

At the back mountain of Jialan Academy, a nimble figure swiftly leapt through the forest.

This was a young boy, with delicate features, appearing to be about fifteen or sixteen years old. He hurriedly rushed towards the mountain peak.

“After today, the Poison Fire in Yue Xi’s body should be completely removed, and she will no longer suffer the pain of Poison Fire consuming her,” Lin Feng thought, quickening his pace.

In no time, he arrived at the mountaintop.

“Brother Feng, you’re here,” a sweet voice called out.

A young girl was waiting for Lin Feng.

Though young, she was charming and captivating.

Lin Feng and Su Yuexi had grown up together in Azure Cloud Town like childhood sweethearts, with deep feelings and were both geniuses from their town, joining Jialan Academy the same year for cultivation.

Inside Jialan Academy, they were both known as geniuses. However, a year ago, Su Yuexi went astray and became possessed during cultivation, the Poison Fire attacking her heart and she almost died. Though her life was saved, she had to endure the pain of the Poison Fire consuming her every day.

The Heavenly Martial Continent was the world of Martial Artists, with each Martial Artist having their own Martial Soul. Lin Feng’s was an extremely rare Devouring Martial Soul.

This Devouring Martial Soul allowed Lin Feng to absorb Heaven and Earth Energy much faster than others. Additionally, the Devouring Martial Soul endowed Lin Feng with a “Devouring Ability.”

Therefore, when Su Yuexi’s body faced issues, she pleaded with Lin Feng to help absorb the Poison Fire from within her.

The Poison Fire in Su Yuexi’s body was difficult to expel. Once absorbed into Lin Feng’s body, it was challenging to dissolve, but seeing Su Yuexi in so much pain, Lin Feng was willing to do anything for the woman he loved.

Thus, on every full moon night, Lin Feng would come to this place to expel the Poison Fire from Su Yuexi’s body.

Over the past year, due to absorbing Su Yuexi’s Poison Fire, the Poison Fire ravaged Lin Feng’s body, causing his cultivation to drop from the Sixth Level of Martial Artist to the Martial Artist Third Level.

Yet, for the sake of the woman he loved, Lin Feng had no regrets.

…

“Yue Xi, sit still, today I’ll remove all the Poison Fire from your body; by then, your body will be completely restored,” Lin Feng gazed tenderly at Su Yuexi.

“Thank you, Brother Feng,” Su Yuexi replied, with a sweet smile on her delicate face.

Lin Feng took a deep breath and began to operate his Martial Soul.

A jet-black vortex appeared within Lin Feng’s dantian.

With Lin Feng’s operation, the vortex flew out of his body and then appeared on his palm.

Lin Feng pressed his palm against Su Yuexi’s abdomen.

A faint Moonlight Power drizzled down, enveloping both Lin Feng and Su Yuexi in a silver glow.

Inside Su Yuexi’s body, a cluster of black flames appeared.

That cluster of black flames was the Poison Fire generated when Su Yuexi went astray and became possessed. At this moment, the Poison Fire swiftly moved towards Su Yuexi’s dantian.

Leveraging the “Devouring Martial Soul,” Lin Feng began to absorb those black Poison Fires.

All the veins in Lin Feng’s body bulged, his face turned incredibly pale, and a look of extreme pain flickered in his eyes.

Poison Fire entered his body, burning him; Lin Feng’s meridians had already been damaged during the treatment for Su Yuexi.

Yet, Lin Feng endured the torment of the pain. An hour later, the Poison Fire inside Su Yuexi was finally absorbed by Lin Feng.

Su Yuexi became lively again, whereas Lin Feng was soaked as if drenched in rainwater, sweat pouring from his head, his face ashen.

Lin Feng smiled and said, “Yue Xi, the Poison Fire inside you has been completely cleared. Rest for a while, and soon you’ll return to being the brilliant genius girl.”

“Thank you.” Su Yuexi nodded slightly, but there was a trace of coldness in her gaze towards Lin Feng.

Lin Feng said, “Why the formality between us? Yue Xi, it’s late, let’s head back to the academy.”

“I have some other matters to attend to, I fear I won’t be able to accompany you back,” Su Yuexi said coldly.

“So late, what else is there?” Lin Feng asked, puzzled.

“Haha, naturally, it’s to be with me.” Just then, a wild laugh suddenly came from within the forest.

A young man wearing white emerged.

This young man, about seventeen or eighteen, was handsome and graceful.

Lin Feng recognized this person.

This young man in white was called “Bai Yifei,” a genius from the Outer Court.

“Bai Yifei, what are you doing here?” Seeing Bai Yifei, Lin Feng’s brow slightly furrowed.

“Naturally, Yue Xi called me over, can’t you see? Yue Xi actually likes me,” Bai Yifei looked at Lin Feng with a face full of arrogance.

“Impossible, Yue Xi, what is happening here? Is Bai Yifei lying?” Lin Feng widened his eyes and looked towards Su Yuexi.

Su Yuexi gave Lin Feng a sidelong glance and said, “Lin Feng, Yifei is right; I like geniuses like Brother Yifei, and you, having absorbed my Poison Fire, now have damaged meridians and almost hopeless cultivation. You are now as good as a cripple—there’s no possibility of us being together. Now that my body is fully recovered, Brother Yifei has prepared a Purple Sun Pill for me to rapidly advance my cultivation. With the Purple Sun Pill’s help, my cultivation will progress by leaps and bounds. I will certainly pass the Inner Academy’s test; by then, the gap between us will be even wider. We are no longer people of the same world, so don’t delude yourself any longer, like a toad wanting to eat swan meat.”

Upon hearing Su Yuexi’s merciless words, Lin Feng felt like he was struck by a bolt from the blue.

He angrily shouted, “Su Yuexi, you deceived me, I absorbed the Poison Fire from inside you to help you heal, causing my meridians to be damaged, yet you betrayed me like this.”

“Boy, you deserve it, can’t even take a look at yourself, now that you’ve become a waste, are you still worthy of being with Yue Xi?” Bai Yifei cast a disdainful glance at Lin Feng, then turned to Su Yuexi, smiled and said, “Yue Xi, let’s go.”

Su Yuexi couldn’t be bothered to look at Lin Feng again. She nodded and was about to leave with Bai Yifei.

“Su Yuexi, you’ve harmed me so much, you can’t leave.” Lin Feng lunged toward Su Yuexi.

“Boy, looking to die.” Bai Yifei’s face immediately wore a cold smile, he turned and sent a strike towards Lin Feng.

Bai Yifei, with the Sixth Level of Martial Artist cultivation, far exceeded Lin Feng, who was merely at the Martial Artist Third Level now.

Lin Feng couldn’t withstand that strike at all.

With a bang, Bai Yifei’s palm hit Lin Feng’s dantian.

Lin Feng was sent flying.

He hit the ground, his whole body convulsing.

“My dantian, Bai Yifei, you destroyed my dantian.” Lin Feng’s eyes were filled with horror, followed by an endless look of hatred directed at Bai Yifei and Su Yuexi.

Su Yuexi frowned slightly and said, “With Lin Feng’s dantian destroyed, things are a bit troublesome now. Although he’s fallen from being a genius to a waste, he’s still a student of Jialan Academy. If the academy finds out, we’ll have big trouble.”

Bai Yifei snarled, “Then we should just go all the way and kill this boy, once and for all.”

Su Yuexi hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.

Lin Feng let out a bitter laugh, feeling as if his heart was pierced through ten thousand times, in pain and despair, his last fondness for Su Yuexi vanished.

Bai Yifei walked up to Lin Feng and grabbed him, laughing coldly, “Boy, you want to compete with me for a woman? You’re courting death.” With those words, Bai Yifei threw Lin Feng down the nearby cliff.

Whoosh!

Lin Feng plummeted rapidly.

Bang!

Before hitting the ground, Lin Feng’s body was stopped by a large tree, and he fell to the ground, unconscious.

Rumble…

It wasn’t long before thunder roared, dark clouds filled the sky.

Lightning bolts struck down one after another.

Purple thunders intertwined like purple True Dragons.

Crack.

The void tore open, and deep within the tear was endless darkness, with connections unknown to what kind of world.

Suddenly, a tiny jet-black bead, the size of a thumb, flew out from the torn void.

The bead hovered slightly in mid-air, then suddenly shot towards the unconscious Lin Feng on the ground.

Whoosh.

With a flash, the mysterious jet-black bead drilled into Lin Feng’s body.
