The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 697: Chapter 696: Four Beauties

The door creaked open, and two maids entered. Seeing Xia Wenjin sitting up, they immediately smiled and said, ”Miss Xia, you’re awake?”

Xia Wenjin said in a deep voice, ”Where is this?”

One of the maids smiled slightly and said, ”This is Fengming Manor!”

The other said brightly, ”We’re here to take care of you, Miss Xia. Please feel at home here. If you need anything, just let us know!”

Who would want to stay here?

From their tone, it seems they want to keep her here permanently?

Xia Wenjin asked, ”Who is your master?”

The two maids giggled and said, ”Does Miss Xia wish to see the young master? Don’t worry, he said he’d come to see you when he’s free.”

Who wants to see him? She wished she could kill him.

She wasn’t sure if it was the dream that rekindled her hatred or if Huangfu Yuxuan had crossed her bottom line this time, but now Xia Wenjin’s heart was filled with murderous intent.

She felt she had been wrong all along.

She didn’t want Haotian Village to become a pawn in the struggle for royal power, so she only wanted her father, brothers, and uncles to stay away from anyone connected to the throne, especially Huangfu Yuxuan.

But had she managed to avoid it?

Completely unavoidable!

Everything she did was futile, and the root cause of it all was Huangfu Yuxuan.

If she truly wanted her family to stay clear of royal power struggles, the best way would be to eliminate Huangfu Yuxuan, root and stem!

In the past, she was overthinking and too cautious about consequences.

If Huangfu Yuxuan still had ill intentions toward Haotian Village, she would just directly eliminate him!

The maid in green said considerately, ”Miss Xia, would you like to get up? We’ll help you get up!” Saying this, she came forward to support her.

Xia Wenjin pushed her hand away and got out of bed herself, lifting the blanket.

She was still wearing the clothes from yesterday, unchanged, and the effects of the drug had waned.

Seeing her striding toward the door, the maid in blue hurriedly said, ”Miss Xia, where are you going? Breakfast is ready, please have it in the room!”

As she spoke, she stepped forward to block her path, but Xia Wenjin coldly said, ”Step aside!”

The maid in green also stepped forward and said, ”Miss Xia, you shouldn’t tire yourself out; best to rest in the room!”

As the two tried to stop her, Xia Wenjin attempted to use the Shadow Circulation Step, but upon moving her feet, she realized she couldn’t use her inner strength. It seemed they had fed her something other than the drug.

However, even without the assistance of inner strength, Xia Wenjin managed to avoid the two maids and reached the door.

When she was about to exit the room, a tray suddenly appeared in front of her, containing fine dishes for breakfast.

Three women formed a barrier at the door.

Xia Wenjin reached out to flip the tray over, but the woman holding it only smiled faintly at her, and the tray remained unshaken.

Without inner strength, Xia Wenjin’s exertion had no effect on them.

In her eyes lay a deep solemnity.

The three weren’t dressed like maids but like daughters of ordinary households, with peach blossom hairstyles, fresh and elegant, and beautiful faces.

Xia Wenjin recognized them.

In her previous life, Huangfu Yuxuan had four ruthless female operatives at his side, who killed without blinking, known as the Four Beauties. They were originally his carefully trained Hidden Guards, and once their abilities shone, Huangfu Yuxuan repositioned the Four Beauties, two to handle various affairs and two to eliminate his targets.

These four were rigorously trained, their hands drenched in blood to a shocking extent.

It was said the Four Beauties together had killed more than five hundred people.

Five hundred, what a staggering number! Many villages don’t even have that many people.

The first time Xia Wenjin encountered them, she was almost overwhelmed by the bloody aura from two of them.

She wasn’t weak; she too was battle-hardened, she understood power strategies, and she was adept at planning. She wasn’t delicate just because she was pregnant.

However, the presence of that bloody aura showed what kind of deadly air these Four Beauties carried.

Now, facing three of them at once, she recognized their names—Hong Yi, Cui Xiu, and Zi Shou.

Or rather, by placing her here in Fengming Manor, Huangfu Yuxuan not only used a drug to suppress her inner strength but also summoned the Four Beauties to guard her!

Huangfu Yuxuan truly valued her!

Hong Yi, standing at the front, said with a half-smile, ”Miss Xia, you just woke up, it’s best not to move around randomly. We’ve brought breakfast, please eat in the room.” She stepped forward as she spoke.

Xia Wenjin was pushed back by her strength.

Xia Wenjin understood that she wouldn’t be able to leave for now. Even though only three of the Beauties were present, escaping under their watchful eyes was impossible without recovering.

Without inner strength, she was no match for them.

But although she had no medicine, she had the Golden Needle, which could aid recovery, perhaps slowly, but there was a chance.

Since Huangfu Yuxuan hadn’t appeared yet, she was temporarily safe.

Xia Wenjin retreated slowly into the room.

As expected by Hong Yi and the other two, their expressions didn’t change, but a trace of contempt was visible deep in their eyes.

Xia Wenjin took note of everything but pretended not to see.

She was weak now, having to bide her time. Confrontation would get her nowhere.

Back in the room, Xia Wenjin said calmly, ”Since it’s like this, then set the table.” She returned to the main seat, her demeanor indifferent, yet naturally exuding an aura of authority.

Such an authoritative presence surprised Hong Yi, Cui Xiu, and Zi Shou slightly.

They knew the young master had captured a girl and ordered them to serve her well, which was unprecedented and made them curious.

Previously, seeing Xia Wenjin retreat timidly, they thought she was just a pretty but useless woman. Now observing her poise and authority, they dared not meet her gaze.

They exchanged looks, silently placed the tray down, and efficiently arranged the exquisite dishes.

The young master had instructed to serve the finest meals.

Now, on the fine porcelain as white as jade, the dishes were delicately arranged, inviting in appearance.

Xia Wenjin glanced at the spread while the three stood aside.

She frowned and said, ”What are you waiting for? Don’t you know how to serve a meal as a maid should?”

The three jolted; they were, indeed, the young master’s subordinates, willing to serve him when ordered, but why should they serve this woman?

She was merely a toy caught by the young master.

Hong Yi sneered, ”Such airs!”

Zi Shou also smirked, ”Who do you think you are?”

Xia Wenjin’s expression changed. She swiftly shoved the table, flipping it over, and the exquisite dishes and meals clattered to the ground noisily.
