The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 666: Chapter 665: Exquisite Sword Dance

The commotion here was loud and Xia Wenjin, standing high over there, also saw it.

Her gaze met Huangfu Jingchen’s in mid-air, and Xia Wenjin raised her eyebrow, not expecting him to be here too.

This Zhan Jinlei, always speaking jestingly, was someone she intended to deal with later, but unexpectedly, Huangfu Jingchen had already dealt with him for her.

The two exchanged a quick glance, each feeling a subtle sweetness in their hearts.

Someone had already handed Xia Wenjin a sword over there.

Three feet long, somewhat heavy, perhaps intentionally, this wasn’t an ordinary material.

Holding the sword in her hand, Xia Wenjin realized its owner intended to see her laughable moment!

However, whoever wanted to see her make a fool of herself would be dreaming!

Zhan Jinlei stuck his head out above the water to breathe, yelling at his attendants on the shore: ”Are you all dead? Don’t you know to come down and help me!”

”Wait!” Huangfu Jingchen’s gaze was cool, sweeping over Zhan Jinlei and then his attendants, he said indifferently: ”The belongings of this princely heir aren’t things anyone can touch; Mr. Zhan, are you suggesting that you need someone else to act on your behalf?”

Even someone as oblivious as Zhan Jinlei could understand the implication; he was being told to retrieve it himself, not call for help. Though it wasn’t too cold in the water due to the weather, it was still chilly. Nonetheless, he gritted his teeth and replied, ”I understand, Prince Jing can rest assured I’ll retrieve it myself!”

Huangfu Jingchen leisurely said, ”Mr. Zhan, I won’t be here to accompany you. If you retrieve it, remember to send it to Zhiwan Pavilion!”

When Zhan Jinlei fell into the water, the responsible steward quickly came over to rescue him, but seeing Zhan Jinlei was adept in water, and his attendants hadn’t gone into the water, they hesitated, unsure of the situation.

A steward approached Huangfu Jingchen respectfully, quietly inquiring, and Huangfu Jingchen smiled faintly: ”Mr. Zhan dropped something in the water, he wants to retrieve it himself, you needn’t intervene!”

The steward was a bit troubled, but after checking with Zhan Jinlei, he no longer concerned himself with the matter.

Huangfu Jingchen looked towards the high platform, revealing a gentle smile.

He stood tall and elegant, with a gentle and refined demeanor reminiscent of jade, captivating many young ladies who couldn’t look away. Yet he emitted a cool aloofness, a noble coldness, that made people admire from afar but not dare to approach.

Noble and elegant, with regal grace.

Such an outstanding figure, how had they overlooked him before?

If not for Prince Zhuang’s street assassination drawing attention to Prince Cheng’s Heir, with the heir’s low profile, they certainly wouldn’t have known such a resplendent presence existed.

This demeanor, this integrity, is in no way inferior to the capital’s titled young gentlemen!

This seems to be an unattainable, high mountain flower to aspire to!

Huangfu Jingchen turned towards Zhiwan Pavilion, took a step then paused, ”Oh, and another thing!” He said mildly to Zhan Jinlei: ”Mr. Zhan, your teeth are too black, take care to wash them more!”

Zhan Jinlei didn’t understand the meaning, Prince Jing seemed to be scolding him? Yet he didn’t believe he had offended Prince Jing!

Now the Dark Gold Medal was not retrieved; if truly lost, he couldn’t even bear the consequence by selling himself, so he had no choice but to dive again to retrieve it.

On the platform, Xia Wenjin flicked her wrist, and the cold-breathing sword shone dazzlingly, making the entire stage appear like a curtain of light, blinding the eyes.

The audience gasped softly.

This sword dance seems somewhat different!

Others’ sword dances showed the sword, showed the dance, but just now, what did they see? A sky of starlight? The brilliance dazzling, yet no human shadow visible!

Below, people suddenly shouted: ”A feat beyond compare!”

Even if there were no sword dance afterwards, even if it ended now, this would be the most unforgettable scene.

Those who coldly mocked earlier abruptly closed their mouths.

Except for Zhan Jinlei struggling to search for the Dark Gold Medal underwater, the others’ attention was nearly entirely drawn to Xia Wenjin.

Among many surprised gazes, Zhao Keyan quickly recovered, sneering inwardly; what true noble young women learn is nothing but music, chess, calligraphy, painting, and embroidery.

This wielding swords and knives is not worth mentioning.

She believed, the reason for the crowd’s amazement was just novelty, soon they would come to their senses and find it nothing special.

When she took the stage, the meticulously practiced Jing Hong dance would truly become the center of attention. No, she sought not just audience attention, but the attention of a particular person.

Her gaze fell to the right side, vaguely seeing that extraordinary gentleman in Zhiwan Pavilion.

Xia Wenjin slowly drew her sword back, akin to gathering the stars from the sky, the sword flowers converging gradually, encircling her, she stepped three feet forward, leaping as her dress flared like a graceful lotus gently blooming.

Amid the sword flower’s light and shadow, her figure seemed dreamlike; whether the sword was behind her like an inseparable shadow, in front as one with her body, or at the side illuminating all directions, at times it was flowers and at times the sword’s glow.

Her posture became increasingly light, so light it seemed her feet did not touch the ground, while the sword seemed like a dragon in the sea, stirring up waves, transforming clouds, wind sweeping clouds, gusts soaring waves, swift as lightning...

Dazzling, but the dazzling sword light couldn’t hide her graceful posture!

Magnificent, yet the magnificent sword light wouldn’t overshadow her elegant dance steps!

Resplendent, but the resplendent sword light wouldn’t break her skirt’s bloom!

...

This was a visual feast; this was a sword dance, which was actually a dance.

The sword danced, the person danced.

Enthralling sword dance, ethereal human dance!

Initially critical, dismissive, mocking, derisive, malicious gazes gradually broke in the sword light feast, turning into surprise, shock, fascination...

Of course, many also slowly changed their expressions.

Those who had been on stage felt very fortunate.

If going on stage after Xia Wenjin, wouldn’t it be inviting a slap in the face?

Those who registered but hadn’t yet gone, already sent people to inquire if they could cancel. With such a gem beforehand, why should they go on stage? For ridicule?

Huangfu Yu’s eyes shifted, retracting the darkness, revealing a faint smile amid the shadow.

Very dazzling, very beautiful, very unique — just as he guessed, it’s all show, not usable for killing, only for viewing.

Yet he never expected someone could perform a sword dance to such a degree, who could compete with such a dance?

Who said women’s dances need to be only alluring and light to be pleasing? Who said women’s sword dance inevitably end up awkward?

Xia Wenjin’s sword dance was ethereal like a fairy, swift and agile, carefree and grand, besides being beautiful, they couldn’t think of any words to praise.

Because in that moment, the mind was occupied solely by the breathtaking dance, the floating figure, the dazzling sword flower!

Xia Wenjin sheathed her sword, and all preceding motions came to a halt.

East tower, west corridor silent as ever, only the figure stood boldly on stage!
