Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2670: Chapter 2679: Then I Can Pursue Renee Anderson

Adam Sinclair discreetly avoided the drink he was offered, declining, ”My stomach hasn’t been well lately. The doctor advised me to steer clear of alcohol.”

”Come on, that excuse might work on others, but not on me.”

He rubbed his temples and still refused, ”I really can’t drink. After this, I need to go to my girlfriend’s place. She doesn’t like me drinking.”

Olivia Lewis doesn’t like the smell of alcohol. Whenever he comes back from an event with alcohol on his clothes, he can’t get into bed and ends up sleeping on the couch.

Over time, he’s gotten used to drinking less at social gatherings, avoiding alcohol unless it’s absolutely necessary. With private gatherings like today, drinking or not doesn’t affect much, so he chooses not to drink.

The person was momentarily stunned and hugged Adam’s shoulder, teasingly saying, ”Alright, you’ve gone from being ’in and out of all kinds of relationships without any attachments’ to completely conquered. It’s making me want to meet this goddess, to ask how she managed to tame you. She’s saving so many beautiful women out there.”

”She didn’t do anything special; I simply like her.” Adam accepted the teasing with composure, openly flaunting his affection.

He flaunted it right in the person’s face.

The person who was all playful suddenly had the expression of someone who had swallowed a fly, furrowing his brows and becoming more serious, ”Thanks a lot. I’m still single. Don’t flaunt your relationship in front of me, making it seem like it’s hard to find a girlfriend. You’re so full of yourself! But seriously, seeing you so dedicated makes me curious about what’s so charming about Ms. Lewis. Someday, let’s have a meal together. She’s your girlfriend, but you’ve never brought her to meet us. Why? Are you hiding her away like a treasure?”

”No, I actually wanted to bring her tonight, but something urgent came up. I’ll arrange something soon.” Speaking of Olivia Lewis, his normally casual demeanor gained a hint of focus.

Seeing the brightness in his eyes, the person realized Adam was serious this time, hesitated a bit, and apologized, ”Okay. Sorry about earlier. I didn’t know you were... making an inappropriate joke.”

He meant that he didn’t know Adam was serious about a female Star, joking about Adam and Renee Anderson.

The guy already has a girlfriend whom he genuinely likes, yet the person joked about another woman, which was somewhat inappropriate after all.

”It’s okay, you were just joking.” Adam casually patted his arm.

The person breathed a sigh of relief, suddenly broke into a smile, and lowered his voice, ”So, you’re really not into Sister Renee anymore?”

”Hm?” Adam’s expression was calm, ”Yeah, that’s all in the past; I have someone I like now.”

”I know, I know, your girlfriend. Stop flaunting it in my face, would you? I’ve already said I’m single, you keep flaunting it, and I might really punch you.” The person rolled his eyes, pulled away, and suddenly, excitedly, lowered his voice, leaning close to Adam’s ear, subtly glancing opposite, saying, ”Then can I pursue Renee Anderson?”

Adam raised an eyebrow, surprisingly looking at him, ”You like Renee?”

”Why not? Are you the only one allowed to like her? If you hadn’t pursued her first, I would have gone after her because of our friendship. Back in the day, who didn’t like Renee? We were good friends, and despite my casual ways, I respected the code that a friend’s wife is untouchable. You were the first to express interest, so I quietly stepped back. You two aren’t together now, and you have a girlfriend; I realize I still have a soft spot for the girl I liked as a teenager, so of course, I need to chase after who I like.”
