Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2652: Chapter 2661: Every Year, an Old Gentleman Buys White Roses

The boss looked up at her words, shook his head with a smile, and said, ”It’s nothing. Every year on this day, an old gentleman comes to our shop to buy this kind of flower. He hasn’t come this year, and when I saw you buying the same type of flower, I suddenly thought of that strange old gentleman, so I couldn’t help but be surprised. Are you buying the white roses to put at home, or...”

In the past, white roses were mostly used to remember deceased friends, but now many young people like white roses, and the meanings of white roses have increased.

He couldn’t figure out what Enna Clark was buying the white roses for.

”I’m buying them for someone.”

”I see.” The boss didn’t ask further. He tied a silk ribbon around the freshly and beautifully packaged bouquet and handed it to her, ”There, it’s all wrapped up.”

”Thank you.” Enna Clark took it, paid for it, and returned to the car with the flowers in her arms.

Lincoln started driving again, heading towards the outskirts of the city.

The car drove all the way into a stretch of open hills and finally came to a slow stop. The Housekeeper was the first to open the car door for them, held up an umbrella, and shielded it over Old Master Lawrence’s head.

”Lord, please be careful.”

Old Master Lawrence got out of the car steadily.

Enna Clark followed closely behind with the flowers in her arms.

Only after getting out of the car did she realize where Old Master Lawrence was taking her. It was actually a cemetery.

”Hand the umbrella to Enna, you wait here for me.”

”Yes, Lord.” The Housekeeper handed the black umbrella to Enna Clark and whispered to her, ”Young Madam, I’ll trouble you to take care of the Lord.”

”Yes, Housekeeper, don’t worry. I will take good care of Grandpa,” Enna Clark said steadily, noticing his worried expression.

The Housekeeper was reassured by her words and did not say more. He watched as the old and the young ascended the hill...

Every year on this day, the Old Lord comes here once, always bringing freshly bought white roses from the shop, as if visiting someone.

But every time, the Old Lord goes alone, never needing him to accompany.

This time, the Old Lord asked the Young Madam to accompany him up, unsure if it was a bad or good thing.

Hopefully, the Young Madam can help enlighten the Old Lord!

He felt that over the years, the Old Lord had been carrying a burden in his heart, especially after Ms. Skye poisoned the Old Lord and his health deteriorated. The Old Lord’s mood had been consistently low. Even the family doctor said that the Old Lord’s lack of improvement despite resting for so long was due to an emotional burden weighing on his heart.

The Housekeeper prayed silently, hoping that this time the Young Madam could resolve the Old Lord’s inner knot...

On the hill.

Enna Clark followed Old Master Lawrence around seven or eight turns before reaching a clean, solitary tombstone.

Judging by the appearance of the tombstone, this cemetery had been here for some time, at least not in recent years. She recalled the words of the florist and became more certain that the person who bought roses here every year was Old Master Lawrence.

Enna Clark couldn’t help but be curious about who was buried here.

Could it be Baron Lawrence’s grandma?

But from the looks of it, it didn’t seem like it.

”Give me the roses.” Old Master Lawrence stood in front of the tombstone for a few minutes before he turned his head and spoke to Enna Clark.

Enna Clark promptly handed him the roses she was holding.

Only to see Old Master Lawrence, strong and assertive all his life, bend down, quietly placing the roses beside the tombstone, and personally sweeping away the fallen leaves around the tombstone. In a low voice, he murmured, ”Here I am again, Autumn.”
