Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2421: Chapter 2430: You’ll Definitely Like Her

However, the motive is too obvious.

She had just put on such a big performance, still feeling a bit guilty, she explained weakly, ”My main idea was that instead of dragging it out, it’s better to have you meet as soon as possible. That’s why I set it for tonight. I didn’t make any decisions without your agreement, really. I was thinking, if you didn’t want to go, then fine, I could just invite the young lady out for dinner tonight. I didn’t expect you to agree to meet.”

Deceptive...

Even Hayes, by Edward Jackson’s side, could tell that her explanation was just a lie.

It’s likely that Old Lady had arranged this long ago, just waiting for Master to compromise. She didn’t expect the young Miss to bump in, and following her tears, Master surrendered even quicker.

”You don’t have work planned for tonight, do you?”

Edward Jackson remembered he had a social engagement tonight, was about to say so, but when his eyes met the grandma’s expectant gaze, the words that reached his lips became, ”Nope.”

Old Lady genuinely burst into laughter this time, couldn’t control herself, happily jumped up, ”Then quickly go change clothes, tidy up. I also need to wash my face and freshen up. It’s about time, if we don’t hurry, we’d be late.”

Seeing her full of energy like this, it’s hard to believe she was the elderly lady who’s been sad and had eaten nothing all day.

Edward Jackson realized he fell for it again, the fasting was likely fake.

But he had agreed, and knowing his mom, if he backed out now, she’d surely get angry enough to have a heart attack.

He could only furrow his brows, headache coming, and said, ”You’re going also?”

Old Madam Habsden was already getting off the bed, pushing him out, reasonably saying, ”Of course I’m going, how could I keep an eye on you without going, know whether you’re taking the date seriously. You often didn’t give ladies face before, making them too upset to go further in the relationship. This time it’s a young lady I painstakingly found, whom I greatly like. I’m counting on her becoming my daughter-in-law, I wouldn’t want you to drive her away for me.”

It’s her last hope.

Her family from grandson said, the son mostly likes this girl.

She’s been worn out to a point of not having any temper left. Now she does not care whether it is a man or a woman, as long as he agrees to marry, anyone alive will do.

If he were to tell her someday he had an eye on Hayes, she’d accept!

Besides, the photo her grandson showed her was of a girl, and he passed on information too. The young lady seemed nice in all aspects, a satisfying prospect.

She couldn’t wait for him to bring her back as her daughter-in-law.

”Alright, go change your clothes and tidy up nicely. I remember you bought an expensive watch before, remember to wear it. Also, your ties, find a nice one to match! Wear a blue shirt, blue suits you better. As for your hair...” She rambled non-stop, couldn’t help but worry, ”It’s too late to style now... Let Hayes fix it for you, if not, let me cut it a bit shorter, shorter hair looks energetic! In my days we liked spirited young men.”

Edward Jackson just refused without a second thought, ”No need, I can fix it myself. Mom, aren’t you going to change clothes? I’ll head out first.”
