Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1979: Chapter 1989: Old Madam Habsden Is Here?

Baron Lawrence picked up his phone from the bedside table and glanced at the message on the screen.

It was sent from an unfamiliar number, but he’d seen this number before. It was Edward Jackson, Enna Clark’s little uncle.

Why was Edward Jackson sending him a message?

Baron narrowed his eagle-like eyes and tapped to open the message.

”Enna’s grandma wants to meet you. We’ve arrived in Linton City. Tomorrow morning at nine, Hatton Manor, see you there. Also, don’t tell Enna about this.”

The content was brief and the information clear, consistent with Edward Jackson’s usual style.

Baron’s dark eyes deepened as he fixed his gaze firmly on the message, his thin lips pressed into a straight line.

Is this what they call meeting the parents?

He’d heard the woman mention the Old Madam Habsden, and every time she spoke of her, it was with a tone of respect and closeness. Clearly, she regarded the Old Madam Habsden from the heart as her own family.

If the Old Madam Habsden strongly opposed their wedding, there’s a chance this woman might waver...

Baron involuntarily tightened his grip on the phone in his hand, his chiseled features tense, his eagle-like eyes narrowed, a flicker of anxiety and irritation flashing in his eyes.

Meeting the parents was something he’d never done before.

He’d only met business partners. If the Old Madam Habsden were his business partner, he wouldn’t be this anxious because he’d know how to interact with her.

But the Old Madam Habsden was not his business partner. She wanted to see him as Enna Clark’s grandma and wanted to meet him alone without informing Enna. He shrewdly sensed that the Old Madam Habsden intended to evaluate him.

Despite his irritability, he quickly deleted the message without leaving a trace, lest Enna accidentally saw it.

Edward Jackson specifically instructed him not to let Enna know, so if he let her know, he would have failed the first test.

Additionally, Edward Jackson might assume he deliberately let Enna find out.

Because once Enna knew and was present, even if the Old Madam Habsden didn’t like him, she’d still give Enna face.

This woman had once faced the Old Man alone for him; how could he, as a grown man, not dare to meet her family without telling her first?

Baron made up his mind, and his expression returned to normal.

He put the phone back on the table and picked up the clothes his assistant bought from the bed to have a look.

A dark blue hoodie and black pants–what kind of combination was this?

Also, what was the lightning-like pattern on the hoodie supposed to be? Ugly!

What kind of assistant had Enna found, with such poor taste, and she even let this assistant buy clothes?

If the assistant were here, she would be utterly aggrieved. She had specifically checked several exclusive stores before buying it. The hoodie was the most popular style this year, and the lightning insignia was this year’s trendy style for guys. She even followed Enna’s instructions to choose the most basic dark color scheme and had the clerk match a set. For just this set, her hands were trembling when swiping the card, costing over 1,500, which in her standard was already considered upper-class attire.

She didn’t know that Baron had a few fixed brands he bought from, preferring the more minimalist, indirectly styled basic items, which were the kind that a single sweater would cost several thousands or even more than 15 thousand for just the basic models.
