Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1954: Chapter 1964: Diamond and Artistic Flower

Baron Lawrence didn’t mind being spotted; in his worldview, you don’t mess with a friend’s partner. It’s perfectly normal for him not to remember Emily Goldsmith’s name; it would be abnormal if he kept tabs on her all the time. He furrowed his brow slightly and asked, ”Emily Goldsmith, isn’t she in Linton City?”

If she were, Terry Leigh would usually bring her along.

Rupert Harris leaned back in his chair, his features relaxing into a more laid-back demeanor as he loosened his shirt’s tie and replied, ”Yeah, she went to Yluria Country for an art exhibition. Her favorite painting master happens to be holding an exhibit there, so she left two days early.”

”A guy?”

”Huh?”

”I mean, is the painting master a guy?”

Enna Clark really wanted to cover his mouth.

Asking such a question was akin to suggesting that if it were a guy, you shouldn’t let your girlfriend go see it?

Rupert Harris responded casually, ”Yeah, he’s a guy, but supposedly over fifty years old. So it doesn’t matter; if she likes it, let her go.”

A man over fifty?

Baron Lawrence imagined Enna Clark liking a man over fifty; even if it was just liking his paintings, not the person, he still felt uncomfortable.

Even if it was just liking the man’s paintings and not the person himself, he still felt a sense of oppression.

He furrowed his brow, as if trying to control the discomfort rising in his heart. But it was useless; the more he thought about it, the more it made him agitated.

Enna Clark switched subjects at this moment, ”What type of painting master does Ms. Goldsmith like?”

”Oil painting, but I’m not too sure. I don’t have much interest in that field,” Rupert Harris said honestly, without a hint of embellishment.

Indeed, he and Emily Goldsmith shared no common hobbies.

Emily Goldsmith liked painting, while he preferred politics.

Emily Goldsmith liked music, while he enjoyed riding and archery.

So, putting them together, in Emily Goldsmith’s words, was like inserting a beautifully artistic flower into a diamond. One is hard, the other soft. One is indestructible, the other fragile and beautiful. One is inconspicuous, the other colorful. However you look at it, they’re mismatched.

But no matter what she says, he doesn’t care about those things. He only knows he likes her as a person, and that’s enough.

As for whether they match or not, others are neither the diamond nor the artistic flower, so they aren’t qualified to judge whether two completely different types fit together.

Enna Clark’s bright eyes blinked, giving her a renewed understanding of him.

At this moment, the waiter came in with the dishes.

She smelled the aroma of the food, suddenly feeling her stomach grumble twice, and without any fuss, she picked up her chopsticks and started eating.

The taste of the Oriental Restaurant recommended by Rupert Harris was indeed great; compared to the dishes here, the few dishes she used to make for Bobby were practically pig feed. It was such a hassle for her family’s Bobby to grow up so smart and cute while eating the awful food she made.

Speaking of Bobby...

Enna Clark’s appetite suddenly waned.

She wanted to ask the person next to her, but with Rupert Harris also around, it wasn’t the right time to speak up.

Just as she was feeling restless, Rupert Harris went out to take a phone call, and when he came back in, he had an apologetic look on his face. He said, ”Sorry, Baron, Ms. Clark, something came up, and I’ll have to leave early. You two go ahead and eat; I’ll treat Ms. Clark to a meal next time.”

”Go on,” Baron Lawrence released him straightforwardly.
