Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1782: Chapter 1772: I haven’t seen any change in him for three years

At the airport, Enna Clark had no idea about Lyle Westbrook’s public confession, which had already caused a stir throughout the city, and even Baron Lawrence had seen the live stream report.

She finally managed to drag him to a secluded place, immediately letting go of his hand, biting her lip tightly. Although filled with guilt, she still resolutely spoke, ”Lyle Westbrook, wait a minute, I have something to tell you.”

The man, who had maintained a warm smile from the beginning, stopped and looked at her with those deep and attentive eyes, as if waiting for her to speak.

Enna Clark didn’t know how to face his eyes, paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and spoke, ”I’m sorry. There were too many people just now, and there are some things I don’t want to say in front of so many people.”

Her silence at the time was because there were too many airport staff present, and she didn’t want to reject him on the spot, leaving him no way out.

But she needed to make things clear to him to avoid misunderstandings that would hurt him more.

Enna Clark took off the necklace from her neck and forcibly returned it to him, ”I’m sorry, Lyle Westbrook. You know, I have someone I like. I still like him, I’ve always liked...” The one she liked was Baron Lawrence. Even though they had broken up, the person she liked was still him.

So, she couldn’t accept his confession.

The star-like brightness in Lyle Westbrook’s eyes dimmed suddenly at the moment she spoke. He had already grabbed her hand and took the initiative to say, ”I know the person you like now is Baron Lawrence. It’s okay, I’ll wait. Enna, I’ve said before, I just want a chance, a chance where you don’t reject me from the bottom of your heart.”

His voice was not forceful, gentle but with an undertone of undeniable power.

”Before, I just wanted you to be happy. As long as you were happy, I was content to watch from afar. I never intended to disturb you, and I believed what you told me that time in the hospital, that he treated you well. But now, I no longer believe it.”

”Three years have passed, three years ago he couldn’t control his temper, and three years later he still can’t. In these three years, I haven’t seen any changes in him.”

Enna Clark was surprised by his words, dazed for a moment, and said, ”No, he actually has changed, really. Baron Lawrence has made many changes, that day was just an accident...”

”The last time in the hospital, you also told me it was an accident. I don’t know if it was an accident, but it’s a fact that he did the same thing as three years ago,” Lyle Westbrook lifted her wrist and said, ”This is the evidence.”

There were still faint bruising marks on her fair wrist.

However, because Baron Lawrence had given her a massage to disperse the bruise while she was in a high fever and unconscious, it had improved a lot.

Lyle Westbrook gazed intently into her eyes, ”Enna, last time he lost control, and this time he lost control again. Who knows when he’ll lose control next time and what he’ll do. So, I don’t trust leaving you with him anymore.”

Yes, he no longer felt assured.

Before, he did nothing because he respected her choice.

As long as she was doing well, he was content to watch from afar, to protect from afar.

But now, he no longer believed that man could make her happy. So he decided to fight for her.

The person he loves, he will protect!

In the blink of an eye, he returned to normal as if Enna Clark had never rejected him, gently and courteously, ”Enna, let me take you home.”

Enna Clark pressed her lips tightly together, not knowing how to explain to him. That day really was an accident, a series of coincidences that led Baron Lawrence to misunderstand and act impulsively.
