Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1465: Chapter 1465: I’ve already intercepted the person from the plane Chapter 1465: Chapter 1465: I’ve already intercepted the person from the plane “Enna Clark didn’t do it!” Baron Lawrence looked at her, his statement final and unequivocal.

Skye Lawrence’s temples throbbed twice, as she struggled to control her emotions, her beautiful eyes piercing as she retorted, “How do you know she didn’t do it? Don’t tell me that just because she said to you yesterday that she was going to see the Old Master. You might fool my dad with that, but I won’t fall for it so easily!”

“If she really told you yesterday that she was going to see the Old Master, you would have gone with her!”

Skye’s gaze was sharp, and her words were merciless, “She went to see the Old Master, and right after that, something happened to him. The hotel’s surveillance captured only her, and the things she made were found to contain toxins. With all the evidence laid out in front of us, why are you still defending her?”

“Baron, it would be one thing if it were someone else, but the man now lying in the Hospital Intensive Care Unit is the Old Master who raised you from a child, along with the Housekeeper who always took care of you! By defending her like this, not to mention how other family members or my dad would see it, wouldn’t the rest feel disappointed by your actions?”

After finishing her speech, Skye swiftly made a decision, “I mean to have Ms. Clark visit the police station. Since you trust her, I trust her too. If she hasn’t done anything, going to the police won’t be a problem. But it would be in your best interest for her to make this gesture.”

“I won’t let her go to the police station,” Baron Lawrence said calmly after she finished speaking, “If Enna Clark didn’t do it, then she didn’t do it. Going to the police station implies admitting suspicion. I won’t let her step foot inside! My woman, my belief in her is enough! As long as I trust her, she doesn’t need to face anyone’s questioning!”

Seeing that he had not heeded a single word she said, Skye’s face changed suddenly, and she raised her voice, “Baron!”

“A decision I’ve made will never change!” Baron Lawrence interrupted her, locking eyes with her, “More than that, I want to know why did you have Enna Clark kidnapped?”

A flash of shock crossed Skye’s beautiful eyes.

Baron Lawrence scrutinized her closely, not missing any change in her expression. When he saw shock followed by a well-concealed moment of panic in her eyes, his heart felt as if it had been stabbed forcefully, and an ineffable rage surged within him.

He didn’t need to ask who the man Enna Clark saw in the hotel corridor leaving the Old Man’s room yesterday morning; just pulling up the surveillance footage would confirm the man’s identity.

As for why that man was in the Old Man’s room and why the Old Man wanted to meet him, all of that would be clear after a little investigation.

Disbelief played across Skye’s elegant and aristocratic face as she frowned, expressing her displeasure, “Baron, what are you talking about? Are you suspecting me now? You say I’m responsible for her kidnapping, so tell me, why would I kidnap her?”

“I, too, want to know why you would do such a thing.” When he found out that it was indeed her, he wanted to know the reason more than anyone else!

Baron Lawrence clenched his fists, his gaze sharp as a blade, showing no intention of letting it go, and continued, “I’ve already had someone intercepted from a plane, and he’s now with Second Uncle. You wanted to know why, well once he’s been interrogated, you’ll know!”
