Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 899: Chapter 899: New Year’s Celebration

The mother and daughter lay on the kang, ”Mom, this Chunsheng’s wife is really nice.” She is a smart person. She knows what she can say and what she can’t.

”Yes. She’s a good one, Chunsheng is lucky to have her.

Xue, I haven’t seen Yuanyuan for several years now, I wonder how that girl is doing?” As people get older, they tend to repeat themselves.

”She should be doing pretty well. Yuanyuan will definitely live a special life. Don’t worry, she must be very busy. Doesn’t she bring you nice things every year?”

”Yes, I was thinking of telling her in person. Actually, I was thinking about Yuanyuan’s temperament. If she really helped your brother find a job, she would definitely help find jobs for everyone in your uncle’s family.

”Because of your brother, she would certainly find jobs for everyone.

Let her find you a job too, so you can lighten your load a bit.”

”Mom, it’s unrealistic for me to find a job. There are so many people in need of jobs, and many men are still unemployed, let alone being a woman.”

”Yuanyuan can definitely do it. Still, tell Chunsheng to mention it to Yuanyuan when he sees her.”

”Mom, it’s very hard for women to find jobs. If they really find a job for me, let my husband take it.”

Hu Chunhua shook her head, ”That’s not possible. Your sister-in-law still needs to have a job. Otherwise, there will be trouble in the future. Don’t tell your husband about this, lest he feels upset.”

The mother and daughter chatted endlessly, and Hu Chunhua always mentioned the job issue. Even when Yang Xue tried to change the subject, it would be brought back again. This issue weighed heavily on her mind. She knew that making such a request would be accomplished by Yuanyuan, but she worried it might cause a rift between them.

But without doing this, the family wouldn’t be a family anymore. Just give it a try. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, at least her conscience will be clear.

Yang Xue and her husband left with their three children after dinner. On this day, the eldest of the Yang family didn’t show up either. This caused resentment in her heart.

That evening, Hu Chunhua shared her thoughts with her husband.

”Chunhua, this is really hard to handle. It’s not just one person. Your brother’s family has three kids, and we have two. It would take incredible ability to arrange jobs for five people at the same time.”

”Now I don’t know what to do?”

”You’re overthinking it. Even if Chunsheng really talks to Yuanyuan, the arrangements won’t happen overnight.”

Hu Chunhua sighed, yes, she was indeed making things difficult for Yuanyuan.

On the morning of the fifth day of the lunar new year, Yang Minggang drove to send off the younger son and his wife.

Hu Chunhua had prepared food and other necessities for them. Cai Jianya watched her son sleeping soundly in the covers, feeling a deep reluctance. Only a mother knows the pain of leaving her child.

Hu Chunhua understood her daughter-in-law, and this behavior made her even more satisfied.

”Xiao Ya, don’t worry, I’ll definitely take good care of Zong Wei.”

”Mom, I’m at ease. I know you’ll raise a well-behaved and sensible kid. I just can’t bear to leave.”

At this time, Yang Chunsheng also came in. He looked at their son, unable to bear leaving either, but they still had to go.

”Xiao Ya, let’s go. We can come back to see the kids again this year.”

”Yeah. Mom, should we pick Zong Wei up during the spring planting? That way, you can have it a bit easier.”

”Will you have time to take care of him?”

”We have grandparents, although their health isn’t great, they can manage for a month or two.”

”Okay. I’m fine either way. You two decide. If you want to, bring him back.”

Cai Jianya nodded happily. Finally, she bent down to kiss her son’s forehead before leaving reluctantly.

It was really cold outside. Yang Minggang put an old blanket on the car, which at least blocked the wind.

At the Second Farm, celebrating the New Year was a joyous event. Especially for Sun Yun, she was genuinely happy, the house looked so good, and the Li Family had really tidied it up nicely.

The three daughters weren’t home. Coming and going, it was just the couple. Not seeing the three daughters made her mood better. Suddenly, she felt letting them leave was a good thing. At least she didn’t get angry.

On the twenty-ninth day of the twelfth lunar month, Zhao Tian drove to bring the three kids back. At this time, Zhao Qingxiang and his partner were grinding cornmeal. They had already ground quite a bit. They were taking advantage of the leisure time now to work on it so they wouldn’t be too busy or tired later.

Zhao Xiaole knew they would be leaving in a few days. So during the day, she kept working, always working, so her mom wouldn’t get angry seeing her.

Sun Yun had come to terms. Although she felt sorry about the money, without the three daughters around these days, she felt very relaxed. Now she thought it would be better if they left. So, for the New Year, she didn’t pick faults; she wasn’t angry.

Thus, the family of five had a peaceful New Year.

On the morning of the fifth day, Zhao Qingjie came over to send off his son. Since the luggage and groceries had been prepared over there, he only needed a few changes of clothes and the kids’ personal items.

”Big brother, I don’t need to go, do I?”

”If you have nothing to do, come along and take a look.”

”The corn at home hasn’t been shelled yet.” Zhao Qingjie was quite envious of his Big Brother, even though he had three daughters, those two girls were capable. He remembered that every day it was he and his wife shelling corn, the two sons would run as soon as they opened their eyes, not coming back until it was time to eat. Hoping to have them help with work was out of the question.

”Well, they are well-behaved kids, you can keep an eye on them. There shouldn’t be too many people on the train at this time, and even if there are, they know not to run around.”

Xu Hongbing also came over. Xu Haijun was carrying a briefcase, as he was the one driving them to the city train station this time. He wanted to go to the city since he hadn’t seen Huang Mei for a long time. He wasn’t at ease, so he thought he’d check it out. Moreover, this time he had the opportunity to buy a house in the city, which would make things more convenient in the future.

Zhao Xiaoling carried a bulging sack made of serge, which contained clothes, items, and books for the three sisters.

Zhao Xiaole was responsible for her little sister’s safety, and there was absolutely no letting go. Their father had already told them that there were lots of people on the train, including traffickers, so she had prepared a cloth strip to tie her little sister at the train station to prevent any trouble.

Sun Yun wasn’t willing to part with her husband, but she didn’t mind the three daughters leaving. Since there would be less work in the field in the future, the couple could manage without the girls at home.

Xu Hongbing drove them to the city train station. The road was really difficult to travel; sometimes, they had to get down and push the cart because the young mule couldn’t move it in slippery conditions.

On the afternoon of the sixth day, Zhao Qingxiang boarded the train with the five kids. He held the youngest daughter in his arms all the way, which reassured him. For the rest of the kids, he tied a strip of cloth to their wrists, so they wouldn’t get lost.
