Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 249: Come back 249 times

Su Yuanyuan sat on the train going back, honestly, she encountered too many things this time out.

She didn’t book a sleeper for this three-day train journey. Just sat in her seat. There were still quite a few people at this time.

Sitting was quite tiring, Su Yuanyuan regretted it a little, but it was still a day and a night’s time. She thought she should just endure it.

When she got off the train at noon, Su Yuanyuan felt she was purely being abnormal, why was she looking for trouble?

When she got to the city, she thought she’d better make a trip to the coal briquette factory. She had some vouchers in hand, but buying a whole cart was absolutely impossible. However, money makes the mare go, and this matter really couldn’t stump her.

In the city, she hired a horse cart, which could carry more than a donkey cart.

This way, she didn’t have to walk back. This was really quite good. It was still cold now, and the journey took longer. By the time she got home, it was already past eleven at night.

When handing over the money, she also gave a bag of peach crisps. Honestly, there was nothing at home.

Nothing is easy, it was so late, it was not good to keep people, so she gave a little something to make herself feel better.

The honeycomb briquettes and coal balls were packed in bags, so unloading the cart was also quite fast.

After sending off the cart driver, she started a fire.

Honestly, the only inconvenience here is it’s too cold, and in winter, it’s all about lighting a fire.

The stove was also lit, and by past three in the morning, the temperature started to rise. During this time, she had tidied up inside and outside the house.

She really couldn’t do anything about her little cleanliness obsession. She just wanted to change it, but couldn’t. Sometimes she forced herself, but would feel very uncomfortable until everything was cleaned and tidy.

She took out three hundred pounds of rice and fifty pounds of meat, as well as white flour and cornmeal.

These had to be dealt with openly. She thought for a bit and took out two bags of kiwi and dried mangoes, these were to be shared with close people.

Busy and hungry, after eating, she directly lay down to sleep.

Honestly, she was quite disgusted with the place, but she still treated it as home and could only sleep well after coming back.

She was awakened by the noise outside. Half asleep, she got up, dressed, and went out.

”Sister, my grandpa said you came back, and I didn’t believe it.”

”Hurry up and come in. I have some good things for you to take back.”

”Sister, when did you come back?”

”Got home at midnight, Li Yun, these are dried fruits from the south, try them, they’re really sweet.”

”So good, sweet and sour, better than sweet potato chips.”

Su Yuanyuan was amused by Li Liyun’s words. Actually, they’re almost the same, all dried.

The little girl liked kiwi dry even more. Anyway, she kept eating one after another.

It was not the child’s fault. Mainly because there really wasn’t much to eat at this time.

Su Yuanyuan prepared ten pounds of dried fruit for each person, and also prepared ten pounds of oil and five pounds of pork belly.

Li Hongxiang was used to living a wealthy life. She would try to give as many good things as possible.

Again, twenty pounds of rice and twenty pounds of white flour were prepared. That’s all she could do.

”Sister, so many things?”

”Yeah, all brought back from the South. I’ll put them on the cart for you, and you can push it home.”

The little girl felt very embarrassed, feeling like coming to someone’s place meant coming for things.

After sending off Li Liyun, Su Yuanyuan didn’t feel like lying down again. This time it was preparation for the Zhao Family siblings, also twenty pounds of rice, no white flour was given, as they also harvested wheat.

Ten pounds of oil, also five pounds of meat. Also gave ten pounds of dried fruit of the same kind. Finally, she put on a bolt of cloth she brought back, Zhao Yanping didn’t know if she got married or not. This counted as a wedding gift. This bolt of fabric was about twenty meters. She figured she wouldn’t need it all, and her girlfriends could each make one piece.

Everything was placed on the cart, and only after that did she go inside to have breakfast.

She had a glass of milk after washing, and ate a piece of cake.

Before she could leave, Li Hongxiang came over with his grandchildren.

”Mister.”

”Yuanyuan, are you going out?”

”Yes, I’m delivering these to my sisters, they’re all things brought back from the south, let’s improve a bit.”

”Girl, I’ll keep the dried fruits, but you must take the rest for money.”

Su Yuanyuan wouldn’t refuse matters like this, and agreed to one yuan per pound.

Li Hongxiang took out fifty-five yuan and handed it to Su Yuanyuan.

”Girl, I’ll drive the cart to take you there. Your little donkey is also kept at their place, right?”

Su Yuanyuan thought about it and agreed. ”Okay, I’ll drive back when I’m done.”

Li Liyun and Li Shaoguang also wanted to go along, so they all went together.

This time, Su Yuanyuan went directly to Zhao Qingxiang’s house, after all, they didn’t split up, and if she suddenly went to Zhao Qingjie this year, it would feel very inappropriate.

”Sister-in-law.”

”Yuanyuan, you’re back.” Sun Yun hurried out to greet her.

”Sister-in-law, I got home at midnight yesterday, where’s my brother?”

”Washing clothes in the room.” Just as she said this, Zhao Qingxiang came out.

”Yuanyuan, you’re back.”

Su Yuanyuan laughed and quickly got everyone to start moving things.

Sun Yun saw the packaged oil and pork and her face was full of delight.

This year, their family had cottonseed oil to eat, how could there be such fragrant lard? They always ate two types of oil together.

There wasn’t much edible fat left at home. This arrival was just in time; it was almost time for spring planting, which was a tiring task, and now there was not only oil but also pork, and she swallowed saliva thinking about it, since she hadn’t eaten stewed meat for many years.

After unloading, Li Hongxiang said something before leaving.

”Yuanyuan, sit down, I’ll call Xiao Li and the others over.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded with a smile, ”Brother, ask Xiao Li to bring my donkey cart over, along with the sheep, since I’m back, I’ll take care of them myself, they’ve had a hard winter.”

Looking at the little girl on the kang, she thought she was lovely. The little girl was almost five months old. Sun Yun just dressed her in cotton clothes and let her move around on the kang, looking quite fun.

She just sat on the kang and played with the little girl.

”Yuanyuan, did you meet Tan Shaoting this time?”

”Yes, I saw him. He’s doing well there. Sister-in-law, what’s the little girl’s name?”

”Your brother named her Zhao Ling.”

”Xiao Ling, huh. That’s a good name.”

The little girl now loved having someone around her, so she was even more lively, and her face had an excited smile.

”Yuanyuan, Xiao Li will surely ask if it was fun when she comes back. She’s been talking about you all the time.”

”Haha, I was wondering why I kept sneezing. Turns out she was always talking about me. The outside was okay, it was just the long time spent on the train that was inconvenient, actually coming and going takes two months on the train.”
