Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 35: 35 on the train

This is still just a little girl, and what she says may not be believed by anyone.

”Brother, tell her my name.” After saying this, Yuanyuan even winked at Wang Xiaodong.

Wang Xiaodong also winked, ”Wang Hong, you stay put.”

”Yes, yes, my daughter is called Wang Hong.”

Yuanyuan gave Wang Xiaodong a thumbs up, his reaction was really quick.

”You’re really persistent, aren’t you? I see you won’t cry until you see the coffin, this girl definitely isn’t called Wang Hong.”

At this point, the human trafficker was deflated, today was really a failure for him.

Now there was nothing more for Yuanyuan to do, she said a word and then left.

Because of this incident, her mood wasn’t great. Women often at this time, choose to let themselves go, spending money is the quickest way to joy.

Even though she was now just an eight-year-old child, deep down she was an auntie.

After getting off the train, seeing many people on the platform, travelers rushing with luggage, and vendors selling their goods.

Yuanyuan felt the actual scene was much more vibrant than what she had seen in pictures before.

She became interested and directly headed for the small stalls.

Mostly food items, peanuts, sunflower seeds, cigarettes, boiled eggs, steamed buns, pancakes, and crispy fried dough twists.

Yuanyuan bought five dough twists and two pieces of fried cake, watching as they were wrapped in reed leaves and handed to her, she took them awkwardly.

But smelling them, they seemed quite good and worth the price of fifteen cents each.

She walked and ate at the same time. When in a bad mood, eating something sweet can quickly adjust one’s spirits.

She browsed the small stalls, but didn’t find anything she needed, these were all things she could usually buy at the market, no need to purchase here.

After eating the two pieces of fried cake, she pulled out a handkerchief to wipe her hands. Seeing fewer people boarding the train, she quickly got back on. She couldn’t stay here; she still had serious matters to attend to.

Once she squeezed onto the carriage, there were no seats left and it was particularly crowded, being small, Yuanyuan was afraid of being knocked over and then stepped on, which would be troublesome. So she cautiously made her way to the sleeper car.

It took her a ton of effort to finally reach the sleeper car, though it wasn’t allowed to linger here.

Forget it, this will have to do, wait a bit and see what happens when the attendant arrives.

She found a corner to sit down, there was still some time left before reaching the city. It was just right for her, and maybe if she was lucky enough, she could head home at night. Though she wasn’t sure if there was a train going in that direction.

With all her thoughts jumbled, she dozed off in no time.

She heard someone calling her, and only then did she drowsily open her eyes, staring blankly at the woman in front of her.

”Little girl, why are you here all by yourself?”

”Auntie, there’s no room to stay in the seating carriages. So I came over to this side.” Not the train attendant.

”Well, why don’t you come with me into the sleeper carriage, there’s still two spots inside. Where are you planning to go?”

”Thank you, Auntie, but I’m getting off tomorrow morning, I’ll just stay here, or else my family won’t find me later.”

Yuanyuan couldn’t feel any malice from the woman, but she still didn’t want to interact with her.

The woman smiled and left. Yuanyuan continued to sleep, it was already past eleven o’clock in the evening.

Feeling a bit hungry, she took out some fried dough sticks from her space and began eating. Once full, she drank a glass of water before adjusting her position to continue dozing with eyes half-closed, awaiting the arrival of tomorrow morning.

Feeling disoriented as the train came to a stop, a chilly breeze suddenly blew in, Yuanyuan shivered, the door here had been opened.

She got up to make a trip to the restroom, to avoid being thrown out by an attendant upon being spotted.

The train stopped three times throughout the night, and for the last stop, Yuanyuan didn’t go back to sleep, waiting to get off.

The carriage was dimly lit, making Yuanyuan feel lonely. Ever since her grandmother passed away, she had always been alone, rarely having such moments.

Curled up, hugging her knees, she deeply regretted traveling to this parallel world, wishing she had landed in one where her grandmother lived, she’d take good care of her, never letting her suffer.

She was lost in her own thoughts for quite a while until she heard the station announcement, then she got up to stretch, waiting here to disembark.

This was a major stop, with a half-hour halt. So there was no rush, even if this door didn’t open, she could still get off from another carriage on time.

Finally, at seven in the morning she disembarked, feeling grounded as she looked at the bustling platform.

She exited the station directly. Without rushing to leave, she instead went to the ticket window to inquire.

After getting the information, she felt a bit disappointed, as there wouldn’t be any passing trains for the whole day, the earliest train she could catch would be at four o’clock in the afternoon tomorrow, but it would head directly to the county. That was the best option.

She was worried about where to stay tonight.

However, eating was the priority, nothing outvalued this.

The two cities weren’t far apart, so their tastes weren’t vastly different. But there were meat buns for sale, which was a delightful surprise.

She ate two fist-sized meat buns and bought five more to pack in her bag, technically into her space. These meat buns tasted great.

She worried about whom she could sell this big Wild Boar to.

Forget it, she’d just stay here, and ask around if someone seemed right. Of course, they needed to look affluent, as a six to seven hundred pound Wild Boar wasn’t something an average person could afford.

She strolled alone through the streets. She chose a place for the trade later, an unused restaurant or teahouse, already in disrepair. The rear wall of the courtyard had been knocked down, fitting her needs perfectly.

Suddenly, she saw an elegant middle-aged man ahead. So she approached him, speaking in fluent Mandarin.

”Uncle, do you want a Wild Boar?”

”Hmm? Little girl, what did you say? Wild Boar?”

”Yes. A big Wild Boar, my family said it’s over seven hundred pounds, do you want it?”

”Little girl, why did you come to me?”

”My family told me to ask capable-looking people if I saw any.”

The middle-aged man was amused by Yuanyuan’s praise. It was much more pleasing than empty flattery from others.

”Where’s your family? I want to see the Wild Boar.”

”Uncle, I’ll take you there.” The two arrived at the place.

”Uncle, wait outside for a moment, I’ll go see, my family isn’t here.”

She said and went inside, finding a hidden spot, taking out two big Wild Boars. After waiting a few minutes, she came back out.

”Uncle, my family has left. But the Wild Boar is still here, come inside and take a look.”

The middle-aged man followed her into the courtyard, seeing two big Wild Boars in the hidden spot.
