Shrouding the Heavens

In contrast, Ye Fan was completely calm, concentrating on establishing his Sea of Bitterness.

The unending sounds of waves, tsunamis shaking the heavens, and lightning and thunder between the waves reverberated throughout the stone room.

Elder Han was full of anticipation, eager for the next seven days to pass.

The bronze cauldron was enveloped by the silver flames, continuously absorbing its spiritual energy.

Holy and pure light filled the entire room, turning it hazy.

Four hours passed before the sound of tsunami waves and thunder slowly vanished.

The cauldron was now calm, with only the silver flames continuing to rage.

Elder Han wasn’t anxious, however, as he needed to wait seven days and nights before opening the cauldron, and the strange occurrences couldn’t continue throughout that entire time.

In his mind, he was basically sure this would be a furnace of peak tier spiritual pills, because it was completely the same as the recordings from the ancient texts.

— A full day and night passed.

The medicinal cauldron was as silent as normal, with only the fire pulsing a milky white light into the bronze medicinal cauldron.

Ye Fan had been in a state of emptiness, only gradually awakening now.

His golden Sea of Bitterness had been expanded by quite a bit again, and was now as large as a peeled lychee fruit.

It was golden and bright, as if the universe’s stars had been collected and fixed there.

His body had also gained twenty-seven Divine Glyphs that floated above his Sea of Bitterness.

They occasionally appeared like iron chains, and at other times like lightning bolts.

The strangest thing was occurring within his Sea of Bitterness.

Ripples were constantly coming out from its center.

When those ripples reached the edges of the golden Sea of Bitterness, they turned into a bright hazy mist that enveloped it.

Ye Fan opened his eyes.

He could clearly sense the changes within his Sea of Bitterness.

A vigorous life force had appeared in his body now.

His eyes emitted two clear divine rays.

He still wasn’t finished; reaching out his hand, he grabbed that Green Jade Snow Lotus’s fruit.

This chicken egg-sized green fruit was very bright, circulating with a green light that could enchant people.

It seemed like polished green jade, flowing with a gentle green radiance.

The Green Lotus Snow Lotus fruit was rarely seen.

The plant only grew on the peak of snowy mountain dozens of kilometers tall.

It would only grow without seeing sunlight for a thousand years, and at that time was only able to generate one fruit.

Its surroundings were guarded by powerful monsters, and Elder Han had wasted eight whole years before managing to pluck one by luck.

When the fruit entered his hand, Ye Fan felt a bone-chilling cold.

The boiling medicinal extract hadn’t dissolved this fruit.

He bit into it like an apple, sampling a small amount.

Of course, he was very careful this time not to release any noise from his actions.

After all, it had already been over a day.

According to common sense, he should have already been cooked dead.

The green jade-like fruit’s flavor was sweet and fresh, but as cold as ice, causing him to shiver.

Vigorous Life Qi quickly spread throughout his body.

In the end, a green light covered Ye Fan’s body.

His skin was like jadeite as it flickered with a green luster.

The medicinal cauldron’s temperature quickly dropped, and the medicinal extract no longer boiled.

An hour passed, and the bronze medicinal cauldron once more emitted the sound of the ocean along with lightning flashes and thunderclaps.

This time the scene was even greater than the last time.

The medicinal cauldron lightly shook, and even the stone room rumbled.

Elder Han felt as he were facing a huge boundless angry ocean, and became even more excited.

“Strange anomalies again!

The treasure pills will definitely succeed!” Elder Han seemed to suddenly become ten years younger.

He laughed without restraint, giddily expectant and wishing the seven days would immediately pass.

The raging waves and thousands of lightning bolts filled the air, and rolling thunder shook the stone room, causing it to tremble unceasingly.

“The day the pill forms will be the time for me to make my breakthrough!” Elder Han was high-spirited and confident.

Breaking through his bottleneck and more wouldn’t be a problem with such a furnace of peak tier treasure pills.

Within the bronze medicinal cauldron, the sounds shook and various strange things seemed to be occuring, but only some muffled sounds could be heard outside.

Elder Han couldn’t remain calm, unceasingly pacing around the cauldron excitedly.

This time, the tsunami and thunder sounds lasted for six whole hours before gradually calming down, allowing the stone room to regain its calm.

“After the medicinal cauldron is closed it cannot be opened again until after seven days…” Elder Han’s only feeling was a pity that he had been so prudent.

If he had thrown all the spiritual medicines in, there might be even more strange occurrences.

The ancient texts’ recording of the sky filling with auspicious colors might have even occurred.

Despite this, Elder Han felt successful.

He believed he had grabbed a great opportunity that no one could ruin.

—— Another day and night passed, and Ye Fan slowly opened his eyes.

His body was full of vitality, the wounds on his limbs and chest had completely disappeared, and his eyes glowed with divine light.

Ye Fan’s Sea of Bitterness once more had changed.

It had once again become larger, and the ripples from the center became even more powerful, appearing like bubbles from a spring that formed bright mist when they broke the surface, enveloping his Sea of Bitterness and making it appear extremely mysterious.

At this moment, Ye Fan also felt like Elder Han – confident of success.

The both of them could be said to be in essentially the same mood.

Of course, he couldn’t possibly be satisfied with just this.

Reaching out and grabbing the divine phoenix herb, his body immediately began to feel the divine energy fluctuations from the blazing fruit.

Legend was that only holy lands dyed by the blood of the phoenix’s divine blood could give birth to such a divine herb.

Elder Han used over ten years to travel over all kinds of ancient lands and ruins before finding just one.

Its value was basically inestimable!

Nine Leaf Divine Phoenix Herb; its body was scarlet, blazing with divine light.

A strange smell drifted into the air, refreshing Ye Fan’s heart and mind, capable of intoxicating a man.

Ye Fan placed it into his mouth and only chewed it for a moment before it immediately turned into bright scarlet lights that rushed into his body.

He was immediately enveloped in a mysterious layer of red light, like scarlet blazing flames were burning.

An ordinary person’s body would have already turned to ashes, but Ye Fan’s body was extremely particular.

His Sea of Bitterness was like a bottomless pit, forever incapable of being filled.

All the bright red light was absorbed, and his flesh, organs, and bones all became sparking, seeming to be free of all impurities, like an extraordinary perfect masterpiece.

Even his body was lustrous, and his life energy slowly circulated.

When the sound of tsunamis and thunder once more appeared, Elder Han was startled once more into standing up.

Pacing around the medicinal cauldron, he said, “Even the heavens are helping me…” —— When Ye Fan awoke once more, he noticed his Sea of Bitterness had once more increased in size, but it hadn’t grown too large.

Cultivation was a path that was harder the further one went.

Those three spiritual medicines had basically the same effect, but the first one had increased its size the most.

After refining three rare spiritual medicines, Ye Fan’s Sea of Bitterness had become startlingly different.

From the center of it, bright mist continued to rise up and linger around.

The Divine Symbols were unclear in that haze.

The bottom of the Sea of Bitterness seemed like a volcano as bubbles continued to rush out of the sea.

Ye Fan wasn’t confused by what was happening.

Cultivators at the Sea of Bitterness realm needed to go through many things.

At the beginning, only a small amount of Life Qi would linger above the Sea of Bitterness.

Accumulated over a long time, the Qi would increase and condense into an iron chain-like Divine Symbol.

Once the Sea of Bitterness was established, every day bubbles would surge out, forming bright clouds once they broke the surface.

Later, the Sea of Bitterness would bubble like a spring or volcano, the bright clouds soaring and filling the space with dazzling light.

When the day came, the “volcano” at the bottom of the Sea of Bitterness would completely erupt and the bright clouds would become liquid.

That was the moment to attack the Spring of Life realm.

If successful, that volcano would become a bubbling divine spring.

Cultivators at the Sea of Bitterness realm needed to pass through these three occurrences before attacking the Spring of Life realm.

Ye Fan had passed through the second one today: his golden Sea of Bitterness was starting to bubble like a spring.

The bubbling formed resplendent clouds, yet also seemed like a volcano, unceasingly shooting out extremely bright splendid lights.

“If I could completely refine all of the rare spiritual medicines Elder Han collected and find a good place to cultivate, I might be able to attack the Spring of Life realm within two years by carefully comprehending the Dao Scripture…” A hopeful expectation rose in his heart.

But he first had to get out of this dangerous situation and keep his life.

Otherwise, everything would just be empty thoughts.

After refining the three spiritual medicines, he didn’t rush.

He quietly waited for the right opportunity.

Three days had already passed, and he needed to wait four more days for the cauldron to be opened.

The bronze medicinal cauldrons extract could be used as the Hundred Herb Liquid and filled half the cauldron.

Although there was no way for it to compare with the likes of the Nine Leaf Divine Phoenix Herb, it still contained a large amount of Life Qi.

It was still early, so Ye Fan naturally wouldn’t let go of this opportunity.

He quietly started to cultivate, absorbing the Life Qi into his body.

—— Two days later, Elder Han felt that something was strange since no more strange events occurred and the medicinal fragrance from the cauldron became much less until there was basically no more.

“What’s going on…?” He was somewhat suspicious, but in the end he seemed to think of something.

“Could it be that the treasure pills have formed and that their essence has been condensed?

“Right, that must be it!

According to legend, when peak tier pills form, all of the essences will be absorbed into them and not even a trace of fragrance will be released, not wasting even the slightest medicinal effect.” Elder Han was very excited, saying, “Now I can confirm that I definitely refined the legendary treasure pill!” Over the past two days, Ye Fan had completely absorbed all the Qi within the medicinal extract.

His Sea of Bitterness was like a spring gushing, yet also like a volcano that was on the verge of exploding.

Bright clouds curled around, Spiritual Qi condensed, and bright mist surged within him.

Counting the days, there were still two more days before the cauldron was opened.

Ye Fan was very calm, quietly waiting for his chance.

He started to refine the flame fiends’ spiritual energy.

Specks of silver light continuously rushed into his boy.

—— The two days passed quickly.

Elder Han was laughing constantly, his laugh sounding like an owl’s cry.

He prepared to open the cauldron and take out the treasure pills.

“Little brat, the only thing you have to blame is that you ate the legendary sacred fruit and drank from the divine spring.

Find a good family to live in next life; your current life was destined to be used helping me.”
