Shrouding the Heavens

He immediately thought of the Dao Scriptures; other than the most precious treasure of the Eastern Wastelands, the Dao Scripture was the main reason why the Spirit Ruins Paradise’s Sect Leader and Grand Elders were fighting with the Greater Demons.

This golden page was too marvelous, as if it had been condensed from a rainbow’s essence.

Its glorious light made it difficult to keep one’s eyes open in front of it, and it was also many times heavier than metal.

“Just this one page has thousands and thousands of words on it…” Ye Fan narrowed his eyes and carefully examined the brilliant golden page in his hands.

Although he was just barely capable of looking through it, those infinitesimal characters were too small.

Both sides of the paper were all densely covered with thousands of words, each character like a star that blossomed with divine light, extremely glaring.

Ye Fan had difficulty remaining calm at this point.

If he hadn’t guessed wrongly, the Dao Scripture that he had longed to obtain was now in his hands.

He felt that this was almost unbelievable.

Tightly grasping the dazzling golden paper in his hand, it was only a long time later than he calmed down.

He suddenly realized when the green-faced Pang Bo had sent these corpses flying over, he had given Yan Fe a profound glance.

“Could it be that he did it purposely?” Ye Fan immediately thought of this possibility.

But that unknown thing that was occupying Pang Bo’s body wouldn’t have such good intentions, so how could it be possible for it to help him?

“It was…Pang Bo!” Ye Fan quickly realized.

From the beginning, Pang Bo had been fighting for control over his body.

Maybe he had taken control of the body for a short time.

But then Ye Fan shook his head, as that possibility was very low.

At best, Pang Bo could only slightly shake that frightening existence within him; there was no way for him to completely control it.

“Within that kind of life and death struggle, if that existence were to be disturbed, its life might have been at stake…” Ye Fan deeply thought about it for a short moment.

His theory was that that unknown existence in Pang Bo might have compromised and reached a temporary agreement with him, sneaking out the golden Dao Scripture in absolute secrecy.

The more he thought about it, the more he sure he felt that it was Pang Bo who had helped him by sending over the Dao Scripture.

He muttered to himself, “Nothing bad must happen to Pang Bo…” Thinking back to the demonic marks on Pang Bo’s face, Ye Fan’s heart sank.

That unknown existence was most likely from the demon race, but it was obviously different from the other Greater Demons.

It wasn’t at all interested in the human race’s Dao Scripture; it was probably fighting for the things left behind by the Great Emperor.

Once Ye Fan calmed down, he carefully went over all the other corpses.

However, he didn’t find anything new.

The heavy and resplendent golden page was an absolute treasure-trove for him, bringing with it a kind of pressure.

In reality, this one page was far more precious than any other treasures.

He wanted to study it, so focusing his thoughts, he connected to his golden Sea of Bitterness, using all of his visual powers, he tried to find just what exactly was written upon this golden page.

Faint golden rays condensed from Ye Fan’s Sea of Bitterness into his eyes, causing his eyes to turn a flickering golden color.

“Wheel Sea Volume!” At the beginning of this golden page were three comparatively larger words.

Those three words were like three bright moons.

Below them, the writing became much smaller, and while the characters could be made out with great difficulty, their dazzling divine light pierced the eyes like needles, and the more he wished to read, the more incomparably painful it became, quickly making it impossible for him to continue.

Ye Fan’s eyes turned red from the extremely bitter pain, and tears flowed freely.

He hastily closed his eyes and scattered the golden light within his eyes, and only after a while did he completely recover.

When he looked at the page normally, although he wasn’t able to read it, the words wouldn’t be so piercingly painful.

But when he condensed divine energy into his eyes to read this page, it had almost permanently damaged his eyes.

It was a strange mystery.

“As expected, this page of the Dao Scripture is extraordinary…” Ye Fan was unwilling to let this go, and after resting for a bit, he once more collected his spirit and connected to his Sea of Bitterness to bring out the most of his visual prowess.

But this time he didn’t start from the beginning, but at the very end of the back of the page.

“Wheel Sea Volume End!” The last four ancient characters were just like the first three, much bigger and easier to read, just like the large bright moon rising on top the sea.

Also the same was that, other than these four words, the remaining words on the back were extremely hard to make out because each word was like a miniature sun, rays of divine light shooting out needles, stabbing into his eyes and making it extremely difficult to endure.

Ye Fan hastily turned his pained eyes away.

He had now basically confirmed that this golden book was the most important foundation volume of the Dao Scriptures!

The so-called Wheel Sea it spoke was obviously about the Wheel of Life and Sea of Bitterness.

That was the location of the gurgling spring of divine energy; it was the very foundation and root for a cultivator.

No wonder the Spirit Ruins Paradise Sect Leader had said that this section of the Dao Scripture was the most important; it was the very first volume of the beginning of the immortal canon; it was the very foundation on which lofty skyscrapers could be built.

Elder Wu Qingfeng had once said that cultivators only need to reach the pinnacle of their Wheel of Life and Sea of Bitterness to become peak experts in their lifetime.

Thus, the importance of the Wheel Sea Volume was insanely high.

The Spirit Ruins Paradise had only managed to obtain a small section of this volume, and it was even an incomplete section, containing less than a tenth of the real thing.

It was only capable of letting immortal sprouts to connect to their Sea of Bitterness, and it didn’t have any follow-up methods.

This had always made Ye Fan feel rather regretful, and now that he had obtained the complete Wheel Sea Volume of the Dao Scriptures, he was extremely pleased.

This one volume represented a complete cultivation system.

It was enough for him to continue cultivating all the way to become a peak expert.

Ye Fan received this golden page very carefully.

He knew that he absolutely could not divulge news of this, or he would definitely die a tragic end.

Even if the Spirit Ruin Paradise Sect Leader had collected it, he would have to immediately request help from the Sacred Land backing him up to protect him, or there would a calamity that would wipe out his entire sect.

This volume of the Dao Scripture could be considered a priceless treasure, yet at the same time could be considered an enormous volcano about to erupt; enormous profits existed at the same time as destructive calamities.

Receiving this single-paged tome was already enough.

Ye Fan didn’t want to stay here for long.

He currently didn’t have the strength to intervene in the struggle.

The best option for him now was to leave.

He quickly rushed down the mountain.

Using the Dao Scripture’s mystical arts, his Sea of Bitterness immediately released rays of golden light that spread throughout his body, nourishing his bones and flesh, allowing his speed to immediately increase to another level.

But just at this moment, Ye Fan felt a strange change.

The golden page within his robes seemed to be trembling.

At the beginning he hadn’t noticed it, but now he suddenly felt a cold sensation from his body, as if the golden page had made contact with his skin.

“What’s going on, I didn’t place it on my skin…” He hastily stopped and checked.

But what shocked Ye Fan was that when he checked, there was nothing there; that page of the Dao Scripture had disappeared.

“How is this possible?!” Ye Fan couldn’t believe what was happening.

Even if it was the Spirit Ruin Paradise Sect Leader, he wouldn’t take it in such a silent manner.

How could it have suddenly disappeared?

At the same time, he felt his body’s Life Qi flare, and the Dao Scripture’s mystical arts autonomously activated.

Without his control, his Sea of Bitterness’ golden splendor increased.

“Huh?!” Ye Fan was extremely startled to feel that something was different with his Sea of Bitterness.

It seemed as if something else had appeared within it, and he quickly checked.

What he saw stupefied him.

Within his soybean-sized golden Sea of Bitterness had appeared a single-paged golden tome!

The golden page had become many times smaller, and somehow unimaginably ended up within his Sea of Bitterness.

This result caused Ye Fan to be stunned for a long time, feeling as if it was far too outrageous.

The Dao Scripture’s mystical arts stopped and everything became tranquil again.

But now, Ye Fan’s Sea of Bitterness had gained a golden page.

No matter how he tried, he was unable to shake it even in the slightest, and he could no longer bring it out.

Ye Fan foolishly stood there in a daze, not understanding how this could happen or why it would happen.

However, the golden page didn’t cause his Sea of Bitterness to feel unwell, so this calmed him down a bit.

After Ye Fan calmed down, he once more decided to leave and started to run.

BOOM!

Just at this moment, a fierce sound came from behind him.

The distant ancient palace was shaking and released countless rays of red light which sent the super beasts and Spirit Ruin Paradise’s Elders flying.

“No, I still can’t leave!” Ye Fan truly cared too much about Pang Bo.

Although he knew he was absolutely useless and couldn’t offer the slightest assistance, he absolutely had to see Pang Bo make it out alive.

Otherwise, he couldn’t leave.

Of course, he wasn’t an idiot.

This time, he selected an even further mountain peak to observe from.

Chi, chi, chi… Just at this moment, in the distant horizon, the sound of space ripping apart came.

Dozens of divine rainbows were arriving.

Rumble… Following it, the sound of an army galloping appeared behind the dozens of divine rainbows, and bursts of beast roars and howls came.

Mist surged and clouds shrouded the heavens.

Dozens of beasts were galloping upon the clouds, each of them with a cultivator on their back.

Although they were stepping across the sky, the rumbling sound was like thunder, like a huge army charging forward.

Those beasts were all strange varieties left over from the Ancient Desolation, each covered in dense scales and bearing endless malevolence.

The centermost beast’s cultivator was holding a banner in his hands which blew in the wind.

Its might overflowed the heavens, the four words upon it read: Flickering Light Sacred Land!
