Shrouding the Heavens

56: Heartbeat 56: Heartbeat Editor: Atlas Studios Within the buildings at the bottom of the volcano, one divine rainbow soared into the sky, its divine light filling the night as it flew towards the mountain peak that Ye Fan was on.

This immediately shocked him.

Thinking that he had been noticed by an expert, he didn’t even breathe as he motionlessly hid behind a huge boulder.

Whoosh!

The divine rainbow soared over, revealing Elder Wu Qingfeng.

He descended upon the mountain, placing Pang Bo in a hidden place.

He then once more soared up into the sky and rejoined the others advancing up the volcano.

Ye Fan quickly ran over from behind the huge boulder.

Pang Bo had already been sealed by the Spirit Ruins Paradise’s Elders.

His two eyes were tightly shut and his body was completely rigid and motionless.

His face seemed slightly green and abnormal, and a dim green light slowly and secretly circulated within his body.

“Just what thing entered into his body?” Ye Fan didn’t dare to just randomly touch Pang Bo’s body.

After all, he had already been sealed by the various Elders, and divine energy fluctuations radiated off of him.

The atmosphere on top the volcano was extremely tense.

Neither the human race nor the demon race wished to give way, and each of them was prepared for battle at any moment.

The old Flood Dragon with scarlet scales flickering all over his body stood like a crimson Great Wall in front of them, giving off a sense of power.

He loudly shouted, “Spirit Ruins Paradise, are you planning on breaking the peace of the past hundreds of years and battling with us?” The Spirit Ruins Paradise Sect Leader didn’t back down in the slightest, also reasoning, “We must take back the Eastern Wastelands human race’s most precious treasure.

How could it be allowed to land in the hands of the demon race?

As for the immortal cultivation technique, the Dao Scripture, that most important section should be allowed to see the light of day again.

It has disappeared from the great lands of the Eastern Wastelands for thousands of years.

It should once more appear in human hands.” The demon race’s golden-winged maiden spoke in a voice that was moving and alluring, yet also powerful and full of killing intent.

“This is my demon race’s Great Emperor’s tomb, yet you keep bringing up the human race’s precious treasure and the Dao Scripture.

It’s obvious that you’re just trying to raid the Demon Emperor’s tomb, but you still make up such excuses.

If you humans are ready for a fight, then just come up!” The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s Sect Leader was not cowed.

He also unyieldingly replied, “Whether it is true or not will be determined once the ancient palace is open.

If the Eastern Wastelands human race’s precious treasure and the Dao Scripture are not present, then we will immediately apologize and leave.

But if these two things are here, then we absolutely must have them.

How does that sound?

This way we will avoid a conflict, and both sides will benefit.” The three-meter huge man with two horns on its head spoke in a voice that was like a temple gong, shaking people’s eardrums.

“If those two things are not present, at that time you probably become an annoying troublemaker and say that the other items left behind by the Demon Emperor are what you were talking about.

I have the greatest understanding of you humans; turning black to white, confusing right and wrong, that is your specialty.

The demon race’s Great Emperor’s tomb cannot be defiled by the likes of you!” The atmosphere became more and more strained.

Both sides refused to back down at all.

A battle was inevitable.

“You Greater Demons are being too arrogant.

No matter what happens today, we absolutely must take back the sacred objects of our Eastern Wastelands’ people.” The Spirit Ruins Paradise Sect Leader was very determined, once more advancing a step forward.

“This is you forcing our hands!” The beautiful golden-haired maiden flapped her wings, and thousands upon thousands of golden divine feathers pierced towards the Spirit Ruins Paradise’s Sect Leader, just like golden divine arrows.

The Sect Leader swung his large sleeves, and a misty purple cloud spread out just like an angry ocean, its violent surges stopping the endless divine feathers.

“Kill them!” the demon race’s maiden coldly shouted.

Divine golden light blossomed from her body, and golden divine feathers immediately covered the sky, their densely packed bright lights appearing like an inescapable net.

They dispersed the purple clouds, covering the Spirit Ruins Paradise Sect Leader.

A purple copper cauldron rushed out from the Spirit Ruins Paradise Sect Leader’s body, and purple clouds immediately soared out, their brilliance radiating everywhere.

The purple divine rays shook the surroundings and broke all the endless golden divine arrows into nothing more than broken bits, filling the sky with blazing golden energy.

The maiden’s expression was icy-cold.

Her wings fluttered, and two divine swords shot out.

The swords glowed with a golden splendor which blazed with light as they slashed towards the Sect Leader.

The Sect Elder lightly tapped his purple copper cauldron, causing it to immediately soar into the sky.

It released a surging purple blaze that enveloped the two golden divine swords, burning them, seemingly wanting to refine them on the spot.

BOOM!

The two divine swords were like two lightning bolts, shaking the whole sky as they attacked the purple light.

“KILL!” “BLOCK THEM!” Just at this moment, the other Greater Demons also took action, causing Demonic Qi and killing intent to soar through the sky.

Demonic energy surged like a raging ocean, attempting to engulf the the heavens.

At the same time, the four Grand Elders of Spirit Ruins Paradise all advanced.

Their Seas of Bitterness’ divine energy source-springs flared, and a gorgeous divine splendor filled their bodies, illuminating the whole sky.

The battering Demonic Qi was scattered, and the four Grand Elders simultaneously attacked.

Demonic Qi shot everywhere, and divine light filled the sky.

The Greater Demons and the strong members of the human race all began to battle.

Multicolored light radiated everywhere, and all kinds of weapons made their appearance, causing the night sky to become as bright as day.

Divine drums, immortal lamps, copper cauldrons, golden swords, eight trigram mirrors, blood swords, Flood Dragon sharp scales, and the like seemed alive as they blocked and attacked with divine lights.

Collisions constantly occurred, and the sound of resounding impacts fell incessantly on the ear.

Each collision was a competition of divine energy, causing the sky to tremble.

At this moment, the Lightning Bird whose whole body was covered in electric sparks, the Silver Centipede, and their fellow super beasts also arrived at the volcano’s crater; at the same time, Elder Wu Qingfeng and the other Spirit Ruins Paradise’s Elders also hurried from the other side to oppose these super beasts.

A huge battle was on the verge of erupting.

Far back in the distance, Ye Fan was extremely nervous as he looked at all this.

The huge battle on top the volcano’s crater dazzled him with its speed, causing him to want to learn it for himself.

It would be a lie to say that Ye Fan wasn’t interested in the Demonic Emperor’s tomb, but he simply didn’t have the power.

That section of the Dao Scripture would be extremely important to him.

The immortal cultivation technique that shook the Eastern Wastelands, the absolutely most critical section, had been taken by the demon race’s Great Emperor.

It was what he needed the most right now since he lacked cultivation techniques for the later stages.

As for that most precious treasure of the Eastern Wastelands human race, Ye Fan didn’t really understand it, so he didn’t get excited over it.

Only the Dao Scripture gave him an incomparable thirst.

Although he had obtained the ancient scripture from the ages-old copper coffin, those ancient characters that had been carved into his heart didn’t seem to be directly about cultivation no matter how he looked at them.

On the contrary, they seemed like abstruse guidelines he had no way of currently comprehending.

The Dao Scripture’s name had shaken the whole world.

According to the legends, it was an immortal cultivation technique that had existed countless years ago within the boundless Eastern Wastelands.

There were only a couple ancient scriptures that could stand side by side with it, and none of them could be said to exceed it.

The extremely mystical cultivation techniques recorded within it allowed one to establish and cultivate their Sea of Bitterness and Wheel of Life, all the way to linking up heaven and earth’s Divine Bridge and reaching Paramita, even allowing one to reach the next secret stage of cultivation.

It was all carefully explained inside, and it was the supreme immortal cultivation technique that Ye Fan absolutely needed at this moment.

Dong, dong, dong… Just at this moment, the muffled sound started to continuously ring out, sounding just like a violently throbbing heartbeat.

Five-colored light soared from the volcano’s crater, completely smashing apart the soaring Demonic Qi and the vast divine energy fluctuations.

Blood-scarlet lava was continuously surging, flowing out of the volcano’s crater, turning half the sky red.

That grand ancient palace floated out, shaking within the lava as light sparkled off it, and possessing an ancient air.

BOOM!

With a last rumble, the ancient temple slowly rose from the lava.

Lines of complicated and profound demonic writings could be dimly seen, but they could no longer restrain the ancient palace, and it regained its freedom, emerging from the volcano.

Rumble… The volcano was shaking as the grand ancient palace rushed out of the volcano’s crater.

Dazzling streaks of light illuminated the ancient grounds.

The stars seemed to dim, and the sky became as bright as day.

Five-colored divine light lingered everywhere.

The Greater Demons and the powerful members of the Spirit Ruins Paradise all stopped fighting to charge towards that grand ancient palace.

They all wanted to be the first to open the palace door and enter, receiving the Great Demon Emperor’s inheritance and divine depository.
