The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 177: Chapter 143: One Dead, One Missing (6K Words, Subscription Requested) (2)

At this moment, Mr. Ma said sternly, ”Answer our questions truthfully!”

Then, the old man answered, ”After transporting the woman home, I placed her on the bed, removed her clothes, and did what couples do.”

Hearing this, Jiang An thought to himself.

It matches!

This fully aligns with the preliminary examination results of the female victim’s lower body.

”When did you throw the body into the river?”

”I threw the body into the river during the noon of the day, using the tricycle.”

”What specific time?”

The old man recalled. ”It was about 2 PM, I remember the woman lying on my bed giving off a foul odor.”

”I quickly rode the electric tricycle, covered the body with a sheet, and threw it into the Yongming River.”

Jiang An nodded; transported the body back at 4 AM and then again to the river at 2 PM, precisely a 10-hour interval.

From this perspective, it completely matches the time required for bilateral livor mortis distribution.

However, one more thing needs to be confirmed.

Jiang An asked, ”After transporting the body back, what position was it in?”

”After bringing the body home, she lay face up, always lying flat on my bed.”

”Did anyone see you when the body was thrown into the water?”

He shook his head, ”No one! It was very hot at that time, and no one was outside.”

”From transporting the body to having it on your bed, was anyone else involved?”

The old man shook his head, ”The whole process involved just me.”

Then, Jiang An turned to look at Mr. Ma and Li Jian.

”Mr. Ma, Mr. Li, do you have any other questions to ask?”

The two nodded in agreement.

Li Jian asked, ”Where is the electric tricycle?”

”In the yard of my home!”

Li Jian then turned and said, ”Mr. Ma, time is of the essence, I suggest immediately conducting a search of his residence, focusing on locating the victim’s clothes, to see if they contain individual identification information?”

Mr. Ma’s expression was heavy as he said, ”I agree!”

”Head to his home immediately to search for evidence and clues, mainly focusing on the tools used for transporting the body and the victim’s clothes.”

”Also, prioritize finding the surveillance equipment on the road within the village.”

”Yes! Mr. Ma! We will depart immediately!”

Subsequently, the group exited the interrogation room.

Mr. Ma patted Jiang An’s shoulder with a satisfied expression on his face.

”Jiang An, well done!”

”Thank goodness for you!”

”Just appointed as the lead detective of the homicide team, and you’ve already made remarkable progress!”

”You certainly lived up to the expectations of our bureau’s leadership team.”

Jiang An smiled, ”Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Ma!”

”The case hasn’t been solved yet, I still need to work hard.”

Zhang Yean and Wan were both bewildered at this point.

It felt like a dream.

Have they really found the third party involved in the case?

Wan, bringing up the rear, clicked his tongue and said, ”This old man looks frail and skinny, you really wouldn’t expect such strong desires!”

minutes later.

Li Jian, Jiang An, Wan, Zhang Yean, and other members of the criminal investigation team arrived at the old man’s residence.

The two-story old style building, with a courtyard, looked very tranquil in the deep night.

”Where are the keys?”

Wan opened the car door and asked.

The old man said, ”In the pocket of my pants.”

Wan immediately reached into his pocket, took out the key, and opened the door.

Li Jian entered the courtyard and saw a silver-white electric tricycle parked on the right.

He pointed at it, ”Did you use this vehicle to transport the body?”

The old man nodded.

”Where are the victim’s clothes?”

The old man turned and said, ”In the garbage pile by that wall.”

Li Jian gestured to the two officers next to him.

”Temporarily take him out!”

”Understood! Mr. Li!”

Then, the two officers took the old man back to the police car.

Li Jian looked at Jiang An.

”We will now begin the on-site examination.”

He surveyed the surroundings and said, ”Following the principle of prioritizing important over general, we will first examine the victim’s clothes, then the electric tricycle, and finally the bed inside the room.”

Jiang An nodded.

”Yes! Mr. Li!”

Then, Jiang An, Zhang Yean, and Wan wore gloves and quickly took action.

Wan held a strong flashlight and evidence bag, Zhang Yean had a camera on her shoulder, and they followed Jiang An towards the garbage pile by the wall.

Under the bright beam, they quickly found women’s clothing scattered on the garbage pile.

Wan, holding the flashlight, said, ”This clothing looks very fashionable.”

Zhang Yean nodded, ”The style is very new.”

However, Jiang An’s attention was on the gap in the white blouse.

He vaguely saw a brooch shape.

Then, Jiang An quickly walked over, crouched down, and picked up the white blouse.

Sure enough, on the left front side of the white blouse was a blue brooch.

”What is this?”

Zhang Yean asked curiously.

Jiang An took off the brooch, looked at the mark, and said, ”Shulan Clothing Commemoration.”

Wan leaned in for a closer look, ”Sounds like a clothing brand.”

Hearing the name, Zhang Yean suddenly felt a sense of familiarity.

She thought carefully for a moment, excitedly saying, ”I remember now!”

”It indeed is the name of a clothing brand!”

”I remember there’s a promotional poster for this women’s clothing brand in the unit building elevator.”

Jiang An nodded, pondering for a while.

”This badge shouldn’t be an accessory that comes with the clothing purchase.”

”It looks more like an event commemorative badge.”

Zhang Yean and Wan both nodded.

At this moment, Captain Li Jian, having inspected the whole courtyard, also came over.

”How is it? Any discoveries?”

Jiang An handed over the brooch in his hand.
