Chapter 159: Chapter 137: Three Fires for the New Chief, The First One Ignites!

Li Jian stood behind the two, his expression solemn.

A young woman with a pleasant appearance, devoid of any clothing.

Unless she had mental issues, she could only have been murdered.

At this moment.

Jiang An reached out and touched the major joints of the deceased’s limbs.

”The rigor mortis in both the upper and lower limbs of the deceased has completely resolved.”

”Moreover, there is a web of venous decay on the deceased’s abdomen.”

”I deduce that the deceased died about 3 days ago.”

”3 days?”

Zhang Yean asked curiously, ”With daily temperatures above 28 degrees now, shouldn’t the body’s decomposition have accelerated?”

Jiang An nodded.

”If the body is in a high-temperature outdoor environment, it would take only 48 hours to enter an advanced stage.”

”However, I analyzed that this deceased was underwater, where the temperature is relatively lower, decelerating the decomposition process.”

Wan said, ”Right! The fisherman earlier used a hook to pull her up.”

Li Jian crouched down and examined the corpse closely.

”How is it?”

”Can we determine if the deceased was alive or dead when she entered the water?”

Jiang An looked solemn, pressed the deceased’s abdomen, but no liquid flowed out from her mouth.

”Mr. Li!”

”I suspect the deceased might have been disposed of in water post-mortem!”

Instantly, all four froze in place, looking at each other.

Suddenly, Li Jian’s phone rang.

He stood up and took out his phone.

”Mr. Ma!”

”You aren’t aware that you’ve made the news, are you?”

Li Jian was shocked, ”Made the news?”

Mr. Ma said, ”Another floating corpse in the river?”

At this moment, Li Jian understood.

”Mr. Ma, probably a passerby took photos and uploaded them online.”

Li Jian immediately admitted fault, ”Mr. Ma, it’s all my fault for not properly clearing the scene, leading to some images spreading online.”

The criminal investigation team had just cracked a major case, Mr. Ma felt very satisfied.

Moreover, having transitioned from being a criminal investigation team leader to a bureau head, he naturally paid special attention to the criminal investigation team.

”No worries! Be careful next time.”

”I’ll have the cyber security team handle the online controversy, focus on your work.”

After a brief pause, Mr. Ma asked, ”What’s the situation on site?”

”In the morning, an old man went fishing by the river and hooked a female corpse from the water, naked and unidentified.”

Mr. Ma frowned, ”What about the time of death?”

”Jiang An deduces around 3 days.”

”Can the nature of the death be determined?”

Li Jian glanced at the corpse on the ground, ”Jiang An concluded there might be post-mortem disposal in water.”

Instantly, Mr. Ma was shocked speechless on the other side of the phone.

”Mr. Ma, but this is just an initial speculation; the final nature of death requires a comprehensive autopsy to confirm.”

After a long pause, Mr. Ma said, ”This case has already sparked an online controversy, you must quickly clarify the nature of the case, determine whether it’s homicide, suicide, or an accident.”

”Yes! Mr. Ma!”

”Rest assured! The criminal investigation team won’t let you down.”

Finally, Mr. Ma said, ”Just appointed Jiang An as the head of the major crimes task force, this is a good training opportunity for him.”

”In this case, try to let Jiang An take the lead in solving it, so he can mature quickly.”

”If you encounter bottlenecks in solving the case, guide him timely.”

After a brief pause, Mr. Ma said, ”Encountering setbacks in solving cases at a young age is a good experience for him.”

Li Jian turned to look at Jiang An, ”He might face bottlenecks, but he can overcome them himself.”

”As long as Jiang An is here, I believe there’s no case that can’t be solved.”

”Haha, you have such confidence in your criminal investigation team members.”

”Mr. Ma! Absolute confidence!”

Just as the call ended, Deputy Captain Chen He rushed over.

”Mr. Li, heard there’s a corpse, so I hurried over.”

”Water corpse, unidentified, very likely a homicide disposal.”

Chen He widened his eyes, looking incredulous.

”Another homicide?”

He quickly turned and walked to the body, taking a glance.

Li Jian asked, ”Jiang An, is the on-site examination of the body completed?”

Jiang An stood up and removed his gloves.

”It’s finished! We’ll do a forensic autopsy shortly!”

Li Jian nodded, glancing around.

”The place where the corpse was found was in the water, and the river is flowing, no conditions for a scene investigation.”

”We’ll split into two groups next, one led by Chen He to search upstream along the river to see if there are any water trash intercepts and find the area where the deceased entered the water.”

”The other group, led by Jiang An, to conduct a thorough examination of the corpse and determine the cause of death.”

”I’ll go to the Jiang City Forensic Autopsy Center first, accompany Jiang An for the autopsy.”

”Afterward, we’ll reconvene to discuss the next steps.”

”Yes!”

After arranging the next steps, Li Jian said, ”Mr. Chen, it’s a bit hot outside, so apologies for the trouble, you and the team.”

”Mr. Li! No trouble!”

minutes later.

Jiang City Forensic Autopsy Center.

Four people came to the preparation room before autopsy, beginning to wear protective clothing.

The main reason Li Jian always participates in the forensic autopsy is he believes as long as it involves a murder case, the body must be the best source of clues.

minutes later, Jiang An pushed open the door of autopsy room number 1.

The female corpse had already been placed on the autopsy table.

Under the shadowless lamp above, the deceased’s skin appeared even paler.

Wan shook his head and sighed.

”What a pity! Jiangcheng’s gender ratio imbalance is serious, now there’s another bachelor.”

Li Jian picked up the forensic record notebook from the table and glanced back at him.
