Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 659  Colder.. The Better...

As soon as the car started, Ruthʼs phone suddenly rang. The moment he answered, she asked in an urgent tone, ”Luis, are you guys okay?”

”Whatʼs wrong?”

Hearing her voice so anxious, Luis was completely confused.

Ruth was so worried she was about to cry, and said, ”There was a massive pileup on the highway ramp to the capital! Iʼve been scanning the news, and I canʼt find your car anywhere.”

What the hell... What kind of luck was this?

Not only Luis, but Ariana and Leah in the backseat were also stunned.

Leah reacted quickly, immediately using her phone to search the local news, and soon found out that over ten cars had crashed into each other on the on-ramp to the highway.

Although no one was killed, it had caused a huge mess, and that road was now completely jammed from start to finish...

Luis reacted just as fast, immediately putting on a complaining tone and saying, ”Weʼre fine. When we were about to get on the highway, it was already backed up. As soon as we saw something was wrong, we turned right back around.”

”Right now, weʼre discussing maybe just leaving the car here and taking the train instead.”

”Thank God, as long as youʼre all okay.”

Ruth seemed a bit angry now, and said, ”Luis, with things like this happening today, it proves itʼs not a good day to go out. You should just not go.”

Her tone was unusually firm. His aunt-in-law was usually so gentle and soft, which showed just how terribly worried she really was.

Before Luis could even say anything, the voice of his mother-in-law, Ruth, came through the phone from her end, sounding as frantic as a machine gun:

”Son-in-law, this is a disaster that was never meant to fall on your heads! Momʼs already at home praying to the gods. You listen to your aunt, too.”

”If itʼs important business, go tomorrow. If you were just taking the two little girls out for fun, thereʼs no need.”

”Come on, donʼt make me and your aunt worry, you hear me? If something happened to you, how could we go on living...”

With the conversation having reached that point, the three of them just looked at each other in dismay.

They had originally been using the capital as an excuse, planning to stay out all night and find a hotel to really go at it. Who knew this would suddenly happen? It was truly bizarre.

The mother-in-lawʼs tone was especially forceful...

According to their way of thinking, when something like this happens, it means you shouldnʼt leave the house. Once you become parents, itʼs normal to be a little superstitious.

With them so worried right now, Luis had no choice but to agree.

But Ruth still wasnʼt reassured, and said, ”Your aunt and I will come home a little early later. You three arenʼt allowed to stay out too late, you hear me?”

”Donʼt worry!!”

Ever since he had slept with his mother-in-law, she had always acted like a little woman, becoming tender in a rare way. This kind of bossiness was actually a form of concern, so he couldnʼt really blame her.

If anyone was disappointed, it was definitely Leah. But she didnʼt dare disobey her mom right now either.

”Well, looks like we still have to go home obediently tonight. What do you two want to eat?”

Luis glanced at the time, seeing it was almost nine oʼclock, and asked.

Leah pouted her little lips and didnʼt say anything, probably feeling listless now that their plan seemed to be off the table.

But Ariana blushed and said, ”Iʼve been hungry for a long time. I want barbecue.”

”Alright, barbecue it is!”

Leah had been completely listless, but when she caught the sly, mischievous wink Luis gave her on the sly, her spirits lifted immediately. She knew her brother-in-law definitely had some naughty idea in mind.

That pervert, that stinky brother-in-law, understood her so well and was even willing to help her out. It made the little sister-in-lawʼs heart almost melt. She felt like she had found a confidant who doted on her.

”Letʼs go back home to eat. That way, we wonʼt be halfway through our meal when they start blowing up our phones!”

Both of the little girls strongly agreed with this.

Right now, the aunt and mother-in-law were as frantic as ants on a hot pan. The mother-in-lawʼs personality was already high-strung to begin with. If they didnʼt go back now, their phones would definitely be ringing off the hook soon.

It just so happened they hadnʼt tried that newly opened Northeastern barbecue place yet. Luis drove them home, and they first moved all their stuff back upstairs, sneaking around like thieves.

They all felt the same way. If their mom saw how much stuff they had bought, even without knowing the price, she would definitely chew them out.

They were still young girls after all. Sometimes, that sneaky, secretive feeling was especially adorable.

It was past nine oʼclock and they were starving, so Luis took them downstairs. The initial frenzy of the first few days after opening had died down, so business wasnʼt ridiculously crazy anymore.

But business was still good. They had hired a few more people and could handle the rush. You could tell the food must be pretty tasty.

”Three skewers of grilled chicken wings, one order of boiled tripe with an extra helping of cow throat, ten beef skewers, ten beef tendon skewers, ten beef gristle skewers, and also two orders each of the deep-fried lamb testicles and lamb penis...”

The two little girls chattered away as they ordered. The server finished writing it down and asked, ”What do you want to drink?”

”Give me a mug of draft beer.”

Then, Luis turned to them and said, ”What do you two want? Juice or soda?”

”Who drinks soda? Iʼm not a little kid anymore.”

Leah caught the signal and immediately shot him a look as she said, ”I want draft beer too. Guoguo, youʼre still young, so you can have a Coke.”

Ariana looked innocent and cute on the outside, but her personality was a tomboy at heart, naturally wild. Add to that this age, which was the most sensitive, vain, and concerned with saving face, there was no way she was going to put up with a comment like that.

The little cousin immediately pouted her lips and snorted disdainfully, ”You little bitch, youʼre only a few months older than me, so stop pretending to be so mature.”

Leah said in an innocent tone, ”Iʼm a high school student, you know. And I really am older than you.”

”If I hadnʼt repeated a year, Iʼd be in high school too. How much older can you really be? Your boobs are bigger, sure. Whatʼs there to brag about being a few months older?”

Ariana slammed her hand on the table and said, ”I want draft beer too. The big kind, a huge mug.”

Leah teased her, saying, ”Ooh, so brave. Can you even handle your liquor? You wonʼt need me to carry you upstairs later, will you?”

”Get lost. If anyone carries me, itʼll be my brother-in-law. Do you even have the strength for that?”

”Worry about yourself. If you end up puking like a fountain later, youʼll be the hottest chick in the whole neighborhood tonight.”

When those two got together, they loved to bicker like a pair of happy enemies. Compared to the warm, gentle feeling when she was with Avery, bickering with her little cousin was like a machine gun, completely nonstop.

Leah rolled her eyes at her and added, ”I want mine ice cold. Drinking barbecue with ice-cold beer is the only way to go.”

”Agreed. The colder mine is, the better!”

Ariana chimed in too.

The way little kids try to act like adults was so cute. Even the server auntie couldnʼt help but chuckle, probably thinking these two little goofballs were especially amusing.

Just as the mugs of draft beer hit the table, Luisʼs phone rang again. ”Hello, Aunt? Weʼre home.”

”Weʼre eating barbecue downstairs right now. If you donʼt believe me, come over and see.”

Just as Luis had guessed, if they hadnʼt tucked their tails between their legs and come back, they wouldnʼt have been able to eat a single bite in peace.

”No need. Your mom said she saw your car.”

”You go ahead and eat slowly. Your mom and I have already bought everything we need. Weʼre about to go pray.”

They were really treating this like a major crisis. In their minds, avoiding that pileup meant the gods had protected them.

They had now bought a roasted chicken and some other offerings and were heading home together to pay respects to the local guardian deity. It just went to show how worried they had been.
