Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1121: Swamp Dragon and Manny

An instant later, Sebastian, the Overseer, and Kyle recognized the frequency of the Energy.

ʼShit Snake!ʼ Kyle thought with a mix of fury, confusion, and even a slight bit of hope. He hated that he felt a bit of hope, but he also realized that Swamp Dragonʼs involvement could change everything.

Despite Kyleʼs hatred for Swamp Dragon, he still knew that Swamp Dragon wanted to resolve the situation as well. Kyle couldnʼt solve this situation by himself, but Swamp Dragon might be able to do something about it.

Meanwhile, the Overseerʼs mind was thrown into a panic.

Due to the advancement, a time limit was put on this situation, which was not what she wanted to happen.

ʼWhat should I do?ʼ she thought. ʼWhat can I do?!ʼ

ʼSwamp Dragon has already undergone his fusion. I canʼt kill him with only 3% of my Energy. I can kill these two weaklings, but I canʼt kill someone like Swamp Dragon!ʼ

ʼEven if I could, the world would kill me! He already counts as an Immortal!ʼ

ʼBut if I donʼt do something, he will ascend, and my life will be in his hands!ʼ

The Overseer looked at Kyle. ʼHeʼs the only one who can kill Swamp Dragon, but will he even do it? Theyʼre companions, right? Theyʼve tried to stop me for hundreds of thousands of years.ʼ
No matter how much the Overseer thought about it, she simply couldnʼt find a way out of her situation. Earlier, the situation had still been solvable, but with Swamp Dragonʼs involvement, it had become impossible.

”Can you kill him?” the Overseer asked Kyle. She didnʼt think that Kyle would want to kill Swamp Dragon, but she was really running out of options.

When Kyle heard the Overseerʼs words, frustration and rage washed over his existence.

Kill Swamp Dragon...

He really wanted to kill Swamp Dragon.

Blackʼs eyes narrowed as he glared at the Overseer.

He also really wanted to kill the Overseer.

ʼI can kill Swamp Dragon and the Overseer, but that will also kill Sebastian. I can kill Swamp Dragon and negotiate with the Overseer, but things will become muddy and difficult. Thereʼs no way she will give me any leeway. If the negotiations succeed, she will enter the Supreme World, and I might never find her again.ʼ

That was when Kyle remembered something else.

He remembered the very reason why their group had come to Ayuvar to begin with.

The Higher Supreme Organizations.

Kyle had offended several Higher Supreme Organizations. The reason why they had gone to Ayuvar was to grow in secret. After such a long time, the Higher Supreme Organizations would have mostly forgotten about them. Even more, Kyleʼs aura had changed tremendously. Even if they still remembered Kyle, they wouldnʼt connect the old Kyle to the new one.

However, the Overseer knew about the group from the Supreme World, and while she didnʼt know about Kyleʼs past, it wouldnʼt be difficult for her to make the connection.

If she found out about Kyleʼs past and his enmities with the Higher Supreme Organizations, she could publicize his identity. This would cause unending trouble for Kyle.

Saving Sebastian represented unending future troubles, and for what? For a guy who had sent Kyle to his death?

He could kill Swamp Dragon and the Overseer in mere seconds. All of his troubles would be solved! In fact, it was also the smart decision. Trying to keep Sebastian alive would cost him far more than he deserved to be worth.

As Kyle thought about it, Black tightened his grip around his hammer.

Just one strike!

Black took a deep breath.

And then, he relaxed.

ʼYes, I should do it. Itʼs the smart thing to do.ʼ

Black sighed.

ʼBut I just donʼt want to. I donʼt want to kill Sebastian. I just donʼt feel a lot of anger for him.ʼ

ʼI understand why he did what he did. Also, as much as it pains me to admit it...ʼ

ʼSwamp Dragon was right.ʼ

ʼI couldnʼt have possibly won against the Overseer on my own. Without the Major Law of Death and Fierce Breakerʼs additional Energy, I wouldnʼt have won. I thought I could beat the Overseer by myself, but that was impossible from the get-go. The best thing I couldʼve done was to start my advancement to become an Immortal. She would have killed me during my advancement, and then she would have died herself.ʼ

As Kyle accepted the truth of his past situation, he also saw some things in a new light.

ʼManny should have known that I couldnʼt have possibly won. He should have known that our plan was doomed to fail from the start. Yet, he still went along with it.ʼ

ʼI wonder...ʼ

ʼHad this been Mannyʼs plan?ʼ

ʼHad his plan simply been for me to advance, forcing the Overseer into making a brutal decision? One, kill herself and me. Two, kill nobody and be forced to negotiate.ʼ

ʼIn both cases, Manny would have gotten what he wanted. In both cases, Ayuvar wouldnʼt have been hurt. If I had somehow died before reaching this level, Manny would have probably done the same thing as Swamp Dragon.ʼ

ʼMannyʼs priority had been the survival of Ayuvar. If he couldnʼt get it, he would try to secure Ayuvarʼs future by sacrificing the current Ayuvar to kill the Overseer.ʼ

ʼObjectively speaking, Ayuvarʼs survival far outweighs my survival, but...ʼ

ʼIt still hurts a bit. If that was truly his intention, he had been lying to us the entire time.ʼ

ʼAnd Swamp Dragon?ʼ

Everything became clear to Kyle.

ʼHe immediately went for the Overseerʼs throat. Yet, following Mannyʼs plan wouldnʼt have been a bad choice. He couldʼve just gone along with it, and if it failed, he couldʼve still sacrificed Ayuvar. The only reason that could make him change the plan was a change in the risk and reward values.ʼ

ʼThat change came from his opinion of me. Mannyʼs plan put my life at a tremendous risk. Meanwhile, Swamp Dragon knew that I would be in the Elemental Dimension already. I would gain free access to all kinds of Laws, and the Overseer would be busy experimenting with the Minor Law of Death.ʼ

ʼIf his plan had worked out, the Overseer would have died. Ayuvarʼs future would be secure...ʼ

ʼAnd I would still be alive.ʼ

ʼLastly, I would have also comprehended the Minor Law of Death, and together with my Elemental, I couldʼve still comprehended the Major Law of Death in the future.ʼ

ʼHe never wanted me to enter the Gate of Death. This only happened when his original plan had failed, and to be frank, there simply wasnʼt any other way to get out. If I hadnʼt entered the Gate of Death, everything would have gone according to Mannyʼs original plan.ʼ

ʼSwamp Dragon...ʼ

ʼYouʼve killed Lara. Youʼve destroyed Ayuvar. You convinced Sebastian to push me towards the Gate of Death.ʼ

ʼAnd you did all of that to protect me or, more precisely, my power. I know that youʼre not doing this because Iʼm some kind of saint. Youʼve simply seen my growth and decided that the impact I could have on the Cosmos would be greater than Ayuvarʼs continued existence.ʼ

ʼYou believe my power is more valuable.ʼ

ʼYouʼve killed Lara and destroyed my home. I still want you dead, but...ʼ

ʼI also trust you.ʼ

Black looked at the Overseer.

”Iʼm not killing him,” he answered.

The Overseer gritted her teeth as she tried to think of a way out of this situation.

”The partyʼs over,” Black said.

But was it?

Kyle could still kill both of them.

The Overseer could push it and tell Kyle to free her within the next three seconds, or she would kill Sebastian. It would be insanely risky, but it was still a possibility.

There were ways out of this situation.

But none of these ways would be chosen. After all, choosing these ways would mean choosing something they didnʼt want to choose.

And thus, the outcome was set.
