Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1571 1571: End Bliss

From the moment Lone Blaze became part of Adamʼs powers, she always controlled his threads. At the very beginning of their journey, she not only gave him the ability to use her flame for battle, but also to completely control it and even turn it into wings.

It seemed that Adam no longer needed anything like that.

He no longer needed wings because he could move freely through the air using energy control, just like any Phantom of his power level or higher.

Or… was it?

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Among the multitude of threads, there were black, white, and amber ones.

The black threads that appeared among Adamʼs energy, which had previously been his powerful weapon, now became the frame for two great wings that unfolded behind him.

The white threads became a common canvas that rushed to establish a connection between the distant, sharp edges, leaving sharp hollows in their path.

It was in the hollows that the amber threads headed, forming golden clusters, full of power like majestic whirlwinds.

[You have received the Highest Bliss.]

[Part of your power has been under pressure for a long time, but it has been able to withstand and evolve.]

[You have gained a new ability from your threads – the End Bliss.]

Adam didnʼt know exactly what had happened in his inner space, but he vaguely felt that something had happened to Lone Blaze.

ʼConsidering where I am now and what I see, that means she made it, right? Huh, no matter how strong you are, you need your allies to match you if you want to move forward, right?ʼ

Vaarh gulped as he looked at Adamʼs majestic wings, at the golden swirls that were equivalent to his azure eye or even surpassed it.

Most importantly, his wings were woven from three different types of threads, each with its own properties and full of energy.

The amber threads could pass the energy of others through them, so it was the whirlwinds that were the threat Vaarh had to avoid at all costs.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Adamʼs wings trembled as the whirlwinds glowed brightly, pumping all the energy out of the hundreds of threads connected by the wings.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Vaarhʼs heart beat faster, filling with pure fear.

There was no longer any room for pride or arrogance in his gaze. All he could think about now was how to save his life.

ʼI must run. I must escape!ʼ Vaarh cried inwardly as his legs twitched.

But, for some reason, he couldnʼt move. It felt as if his legs were frozen to the ground, and that wasnʼt far from the truth.

In horror, Vaarh looked down only to see thick ice encasing his feet. His eyes followed the thin line of ice running under the snow, ending right under Alexiaʼs palm.

”Y-YOU!” Vaarh was ready to burn her with his gaze.

Alexia just shrugged.

”Sorry, I couldnʼt let him take all the credit. I had to get involved. Huh! You shouldnʼt be looking at me right now!”

Following her words, Vaarh raised his head.

His eyes reflected two wings and several golden whirlwinds that were actively trembling, full of energy.

”You tried to run away?” Adam raised his chin. ”Hah, wasnʼt it you who said we had to fight to the end?!”

At the same moment, the amber rays of dense energy burst from Adamʼs wings, raining down on Vaarh, who was too weak to destroy Alexiaʼs ice.

One ray followed another. The whirlwinds closed for a split second, only to gather enough energy and release the next projectile.

Thus, Vaarh had no choice but to stand still and watch the golden stars.

There was no pity or malice towards him in them. It was a force of nature that even an old dragon like him could not resist.

”Is that really all?” Vaarh muttered inwardly.

Blast!

The first amber ray struck him, tearing off his shoulder. The second pierced his chest, while the third left a deep cut on his neck.

One after another, the amber rays tore Vaarhʼs body apart, while his soul slowly accepted the fact that he had lost.

Adam used all the energy he had. He knew that Vaarh had superior endurance. This was a monster that could survive with only one head left.

By the time Adam ran out of energy and Vaarh accepted that he had lost, there was nothing left of his body.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

The ice that had previously bound Vaarhʼs legs shattered into fragments, falling into a pile of ash that was the last evidence of what had happened to the proud dragon.

Slowly, Adam sank to the ground in front of Alexia, the wind itself accompanying him on his way.

His wings, now gray and empty, devoid of energy, broke with his next breath, scattering before Alexiaʼs eyes.

They had won, but no one said a word.

Step. Step. Step.

Under the gaze of the monsters and the Head Golem in the distance, Adam stepped forward before stopping in front of a handful of ashes among the broken ice.

Barely noticeable, gray-blue energy flows still lingered around the ashes, but nothing remained of Vaarh. It was the end for him.

”Agh, it ended so abruptly...”

Adam shook his head and clenched the handful of ashes in his fist, watching as the ashes seeped through his fingers.

”The Primal Lands, Frost Oasis, and the dragon that came back to life, none of that was a condition for me, but the battle against you, Vaarh. As you wanted, I put up the most worthy fight possible. I hope youʼre satisfied, arrogant bastard.”

With a smile on his face, Adam blew the ashes off his palm, watching the gray particles contrast sharply with the blue ice and bloody snow around him.

Then, Adam turned, looking over his shoulder at Alexia.

”It seems our adventure in the Primal Lands has come to an end?”

Alexia, who still couldnʼt stand up because of her broken leg, grinned.

”Yeah... All thatʼs left is to find that wyvern and get revenge on her. Although I donʼt know if Iʼm ready for that.”

Adam looked up at the sky.

”Maybe not this time.”
