After the last traces of blood and limestone dust had been washed from Sol’s skin, a quiet understanding passed between the two women.

Without any hesitation or shame, Kira reached for the ties of her tunic.

The soft fabric loosened and slipped from her shoulders, revealing the smooth, beautiful curves of her body beneath the silver moonlight.

She stepped out of her remaining clothes with calm, natural grace and waded a little deeper into the stream.

Water lapped gently around her hips as she cupped her hands and began washing the residual grime of battle from her skin, the moonlight tracing every elegant line of her form... the soft swell of her breasts, the gentle curve of her waist, the long, graceful length of her legs.

Zeyra followed a moment later. She pulled her own garments over her head without a hint of self-consciousness and discarded them on the mossy bank.

Her body was leaner and more athletic than Kira’s, marked by the subtle definition of a warrior, yet no less beautiful under the night sky.

Dark hair clung to her damp shoulders as she stepped fully into the current, tilting her head back and letting the cold water cascade over her bare skin.

The moonlight caught the water beading on her breasts and trailing down the flat plane of her stomach, turning her into a striking, silver-edged silhouette against the dark mountain.

Neither of them looked away or tried to cover themselves. There was no embarrassment between them ... only the quiet intimacy of three people who had survived the same hell and no longer felt the need to hide anything from one another.

The soft sounds of water and the cool night breeze filled the clearing as the two women washed themselves clean beneath the rising moon.

Sol watched them in silence.

Even though their bodies looked so beautiful and tempting under the silver light... soft curves and lean strength gleaming with water... he firmly controlled himself. This was not the time for anything erotic.

Not after the deaths of so many, not while the funeral pyres still burned in the distance and the weight of the day still lingered over all of them.

He would not cross that line tonight.

Instead, he simply appreciated the sight of them... the quiet beauty of two women who had stood beside him through blood and terror... and then moved to help.

He stepped closer to Kira first. Despite her protest, taking the cloth from her hands, he carefully washed her back, his palms moving slowly and deliberately over the smooth plane of her shoulders and down the gentle curve of her spine.

When she turned, he continued along her arms and the soft line of her collarbones, then gave special, careful attention to her breasts.

His hands cupped and washed them with gentle thoroughness, thumbs brushing lightly over the wet skin as he cleaned away the last traces of dust and sweat.

Kira’s breath hitched softly, but she did not pull away; she simply closed her eyes and let him continue.

When he finished with her, Sol turned to Zeyra.

He washed her from behind first, hands gliding over the firm muscles of her back and the narrow taper of her waist.

Then he moved around to her front, cleaning her arms, the defined lines of her stomach, and finally her breasts with the same careful attention.

His palms lingered just a moment longer there, feeling the soft weight and warmth of them beneath the cool water, before he finished and stepped back.

Throughout it all, his touch remained sensual but restrained... appreciative, intimate, and controlled.

He explored the shape of their bodies with quiet care, but he never allowed the moment to tip into something more.

When he was done, both women looked at him with soft, unreadable expressions in the moonlight.

Neither of them had expected such firm self-control.

After everything that had happened that day... the blood, the killing, the raw intensity that had radiated from him on the battlefield... they had quietly assumed he might use this private moment to vent the frustration and tension still lingering in his body.

The way he had touched them while washing, the lingering attention he had given their breasts, the quiet intensity in his crimson eyes... it had all seemed like the beginning of something more.

But to their quiet surprise, he stopped.

He simply helped them wash... carefully, thoroughly, and without crossing the line.

Kira’s cheeks remained faintly flushed as she studied his face, a complicated mixture of relief, curiosity, and something softer flickering in her eyes.

Zeyra’s sharp gaze lingered on him a moment longer, her usual sharp edge tempered by a rare, thoughtful stillness.

Neither of them spoke. There was no need. The unspoken understanding that passed between the three of them was enough.

...

The gentle splashing of the mountain stream slowly faded as the moon climbed to its zenith, bathing the quiet basin in a pale, ethereal light.

For a long time, no one spoke. Sol remained sitting in the cool water, his arms comfortably wrapped around Kira and Zeyra, anchored by their warmth against the cold mountain draft.

Eventually, the trembling in Kira’s shoulders subsided into rhythmic, peaceful breathing.

The sheer exhaustion of surviving a brutal, blood-soaked day had finally caught up to her, her eyelids fluttering heavy against Sol’s neck.

Beside her, Zeyra let out a quiet sigh, gently disentangling herself from Sol’s waist and running a wet hand through her dark hair.

”We should head back,” Zeyra murmured softly, her usual sharp edge replaced by a quiet, lingering warmth. ”If we stay out here much longer, the Warchief will send a squad of guards thinking we ran off with her grand savior.”

Sol let out a raspy, low chuckle, his eyes opening to catch the silver moonlight reflecting off the water. ”Let them look. After the day I’ve had, I think I’ve earned a few extra minutes of peace.”

”You’ve earned a year of peace,” Kira whispered, her voice groggy as she slowly lifted her head from his neck, wiping the last traces of tears from her eyes.
