Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1784: Su Lan’s Sorrow

”What... what did you say? She... she killed our eldest son?” Su Lan’s voice trembled, and tears fell from her eyes.

Yan Washeng sighed and hugged her. ”Wife, I understand how you feel because it pained me to see our eldest son die! I tried to save him from that woman, but she was too strong for me, and I would have died in the dungeon if someone hadn’t stopped her.”

”What... what really happened? Why... why did that woman kill our eldest son?” Su Lan buried her face into her husband’s chest, asking while crying.

”Aren’t you aware of our eldest son’s character?” Yan Washeng felt deep regret. ”He tried to seduce the woman and her friend by acting lasciviously, which made them furious. She had warned him not to stay away from them, but he didn’t listen to her and continued to disturb their time.”

After all, Yan Washeng’s clone soul had merged with Zhang Fei’s soul, allowing them to communicate easily.

Zhang Fei arranged everything that way because he didn’t want to deal with Yan Washeng’s family members yet, and he hoped that his family members wouldn’t start looking for trouble with him, which would only waste his time.

”Who... who exactly is that woman and her friends?” Su Lan felt such deep sorrow that her tears couldn’t stop flowing, and they flowed even more freely.

Yan Washeng hugged his wife tighter. ”I don’t know that woman’s identity, but one of her friends is a fox beast, and both of them are much stronger than all the demon gods in this domain. I tried to fight them, but they suppressed me with their aura, and I couldn’t move at all under their pressure.”

”Where... where exactly did they come from? Why... why did they come to our domain? If they didn’t come to our domain, our eldest son wouldn’t have suffered such a fate.”

”I don’t know their origins or their purpose in coming to this domain.” Yan Washeng was silent for a few seconds. ”I wanted to bring home our eldest son’s corpse, but the female fox ate it.”

Upon hearing that, Su Lan fell deeper into sorrow, her tears flowing even more freely, and her cries growing louder.

Yan Washeng continued. ”Wife, I am also saddened by our eldest son’s death, but we should put this matter behind us. That woman threatened to come here if we mess with her again, and she would slaughter both of our demon races. She is not an ordinary woman, and her strength is superior to ours, so we will never be able to defeat her if all the demon races unite.”

Su Lan didn’t say anything and continued crying in her husband’s embrace. They had two other children, but her eldest son had always been the best in her eyes, and his death dealt a heavy blow to her. ”Husband, we—”

”Forget it, Wife.” Yan Washeng sighed heavily, knowing his wife’s thoughts. ”Do you want to see our two demon races wiped out? I have a tremendous responsibility towards our two races, and I cannot watch them perish at the hands of that woman. Besides, we still have two children, and I can impregnate you again if you want another child.”

Su Lan clenched her fists and hugged her husband tighter. She wanted revenge against the murderer of her eldest son, but she was a rational woman, and she was aware that her husband’s words were true. If that mysterious woman could suppress and injure her husband, then no one from their two demon races could fight her.

Yan Washeng released his wife from his arms and laid her on the bed. ”Please forgive me, wife. I am a demon god, but I was powerless to protect our eldest son.”

”No,” Su Lan’s voice grew weaker. ”I know you tried to save our eldest son, so his death wasn’t your fault. If we hadn’t spoiled him too much, he wouldn’t have died at that woman’s hands.”

Yan Washeng felt a little relieved after hearing that. ”For now, I won’t go anywhere, and I’ll accompany you through this sorrow.”

”Yes,” Su Lan pulled her husband to lie beside her and hugged him again. ”Husband, we have to warn our two children about that woman so they won’t meet her or look for trouble with her.”

”I will meet them after this, and I will forbid them from approaching that woman.”

”That’s good.” Su Lan closed her eyes. Even though she harbored a grudge against the mysterious woman, she had to think about the big picture for the sake of their two demon races.

Time passed quickly; Mo Luoxie finally arrived at the dungeon together with Yuan Xuan. He immediately led his lover into the dungeon, but they didn’t spend time on the first floor, and they went straight to the second ground floor to meet Mo Cangyue and the others.

”Is Zhang Fei really that strong, Luoxie?”

Mo Luoxie shook his head. ”I’ve never met Zhang Fei, so I don’t know anything about his strength. My parents said that he killed Yan Tianling and enslaved Yan Washeng, so his strength shouldn’t be underestimated.”

”Although Yan Washeng isn’t as strong as Uncle Mo, he’s still a powerful demon; otherwise, he wouldn’t have become one of the demon gods in this domain.”

”That’s right.” Mo Luoxie nodded in agreement. ”My sister has already begun building a relationship with Zhang Fei, and our parents asked me to do the same, so I specifically asked you to accompany me here.”

Yuan Xuan turned to him. ”Why did you ask me to accompany you here? You usually go around alone, so I’m a little suspicious of you. Additionally, you have not provided me with a detailed explanation about Zhang Fei, which makes me suspect that your decision is related to him.”

”Is that so?” Mo Luoxie smiled awkwardly. ”According to my parents, Zhang Fei had four beautiful demon gods as his wives, my mother said that their beauty was peerless and unmatched.”

”Haha,” Yuan Xuan laughed. ”So, you brought me here to meet them because you were afraid that you would be charmed by their beauty?”

Mo Luoxie sighed. ”Xuan, you know my feelings for you, right? I love you wholeheartedly, but I’m still just a man, and I’m afraid that I’ll be captivated by their beauty.”

”At least you are honest, Luoxie.” Yuan Xuan chuckled. ”One of the reasons I accepted you was your honesty, and I hope you will continue to be yourself forever.”

”Thank you, Xuan.”

Some time later, Mo Luoxie and Yuan Xuan arrived at the second ground floor, but the scene there stunned them. They looked at Zhang Fei, who was floating in midair while attacking the mindless demons.

”Is he Zhang Fei?” Yuan Xuan looked in that direction with awe, especially since she had never seen a nine-tailed lust demon before.

”I think so.” Mo Luoxie looked at the surrounding area, finding the other demons keeping their distance from Zhang Fei’s attack area. ”His cultivation was only at the Celestial Emperor Realm, but his attacks were simply too powerful, and he killed those mindless demons with high-precision attacks.”

Yuan Xuan nodded in agreement, but she felt something else from Zhang Fei’s attacks, giving her a sense of fear. ”Luoxie, can you sense anything different from his attacks?”

”Yes,” Mo Luoxie seriously observed Zhang Fei. ”He used—”

”The light element.” Mo Luoxie and Yuan Xuan turned to Mo Cangyue. ”Zhang Fei is a demon, but he’s not an ordinary demon, and he possesses the light element.”

Mo Luoxie and Yuan Xuan were shocked to hear that. ”How can Zhang Fei have the light element, Sister?”

”I can’t explain in detail, Brother.” Mo Cangyue looked at Zhang Fei. ”You can observe everything directly, and you’ll learn a lot about him as time goes by.”

Yuan Xuan observed Mo Cangyue’s face, and she noticed something different in her expression. ”Cangyue, are you interested in Zhang Fei?”

”Huh?” Mo Cangyue abruptly looked at Yuan Xuan. ”You know that I never liked men, right? Zhang Fei is different from other demons, but I don’t have that kind of feeling for him, and I only admire him. You didn’t watch his fight with Yan Tianling and Yan Washeng, and I can say that he’s really badass.”

”Did he really defeat them on his own, Sister?”

”Yes,” Mo Cangyue nodded. ”Everyone always says that Yan Tianling is one of the talented demons in this domain, but he was completely immobile in front of Zhang Fei. He stabbed him with his sword, he gouged out both his eyeballs, and he killed him before Yan Washeng’s eyes.”

Mo Luoxie felt sick hearing Zhang Fei gouging out Yan Tianling’s eyeballs before killing him. ”Is he really that ruthless?”

”He is.” Mo Cangyue nodded. ”Zhang Fei didn’t kill Yan Tianling directly, but he killed him slowly by absorbing his demon qi clean. Yan Washeng tried to attack him, but he sent that foolish demon god flying with just one punch.”

Mo Luoxie took a deep breath. He had a strengthening technique like Zhang Fei, but he couldn’t possibly do something like that to a powerful demon god like Yan Washeng.

”Where are those powerful female demon gods, Cangyue?” Yuan Xuan asked.

Mo Cangyue pointed at four different ones. ”They are Qi Qingxiu, Ye Mingran, Dong Xuanyin, and Nalan Shizhe. Although they are demon gods, their strength cannot compare to Zhang Fei’s. They are looking for demon items, so we should not disturb them for now, and I will introduce you two to them when they are resting.”

”Hmm?” Yuan Xuan felt that her suspicions about Mo Cangyue were correct, and she began to be attracted to Zhang Fei; otherwise, she wouldn’t have continued to praise him. ”I heard Yuan Xiajie has returned to this domain, where is she now?”
