Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1444: Demhuman Kingdom

Zhang Fei led the four women into the city, but two guards stopped them as per the rules. However, they froze when Qi Qingxiu glanced at them because her cultivation was at the 3-Sun Celestial Venerable Realm, which was too powerful for guards like them.

’Shit! This fox woman’s strength is on par with our emperor and empress.’ One of the guards, who had a tiger-like body but stood on two legs, cursed in his heart.

The other male guard with a body like a white leopard was terrified of Qi Qingxiu, and his body couldn’t stop trembling with fear. ’Ugh! What bad luck! Why does a fox woman as strong as her have to come here when it’s our turn on guard duty today?’

Zhang Chen, Hu Lili, and Hu Yue noticed the two guards’ reactions towards Qi Qingxiu, but their fearful reactions made the three women feel relieved because they shouldn’t have any trouble in that domain.

Zhang Fei smiled faintly, hugged Qi Qingxiu’s waist, and then turned to ask the two guards a question. ”What do we have to do to enter this city? To be honest, we’re not demihumans like you, and we come from the beast races, so we don’t know the rules in this domain because this is our first time here.”

”Sir, you have to pay to enter this city: one hundred purple jewels for one person.”

Fortunately, Zhang Fei had already opened a shop in the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary, and he got many jewels from customers, unlike when he first ascended to the Paradise Realm. Moreover, his shop has been running for several years now, and he has focused on seclusion with all his partners in the last six or so years. He never bought anything unusual either, so his jewel stash has grown significantly.

As for alchemy, Zhang Fei only needed to purchase a single stalk of all kinds of herbs; Janette and Lillea could multiply them with their Dryad abilities to plant in the Sealed World Pearl. He also had Shi Wu by his side, and she possessed the wood element to nourish all the herbs inside, ensuring an abundant supply.

Zhang Fei took out five hundred purple jewels and handed them to one of the guards, who exchanged them for five special identification tags. After he obtained them, he immediately led the four women into the city, causing the two guards to sigh in relief and pat their chests.

The tiger demihuman spoke to his friend. ”That fox woman is truly powerful, and her strength is comparable to our two leaders.”

”Yes.” The leopard demihuman wiped the sweat from his forehead. ”I’m really curious about their reason for coming to our domain. Since the five of them are beasts, they should have gone to the Dragon-Soaring Divine Domain, but they came here instead.”

”We better not be too curious about them or that fox woman will eat us alive.” The leopard demihuman shivered in fear after the tiger demihuman said that. ”I will go to meet our two leaders now to report their arrival to our city, and they can check on those five people.”

”Yes.”

Zhang Fei naturally listened to the two gatekeepers’ conversation, but he didn’t bother with the tiger demihuman’s decision to report to their two leaders. He hoped they would come to them on their own, as he and Qi Qingxiu could take care of them, so he wouldn’t have to bother looking for them.

Zhang Fei ignored them and led the five women on a stroll through the city, searching for items that might be useful to them, especially herbs for alchemy. Despite this, Qi Qingxiu increased her guard, and she enveloped the other three women with her aura so she could protect them if there was a change in the situation.

The tiger demihuman arrived at the palace located north of the city and immediately ran inside to meet his two leaders. Unlike other races, the demihuman population was not that large, and their numbers were far outnumbered by the demon race, let alone the other three races, especially the human race.

The tiger demihuman went to the throne room to meet his two leaders after the palace gatekeeper informed him that they were there, meeting with the high-ranking members of their race.

The tiger demihuman did not immediately enter the throne room, especially after he heard quite a large commotion from inside. He heard the two leaders, especially the empress, shouting loudly and angrily at everyone present at the meeting.

Ten minutes later, the tiger demihuman saw the door to the throne room open from the inside. All the higher-ups of the demihuman race rushed out, their faces filled with fear and their bodies drenched in sweat.

The tiger demihuman immediately ignored them, and he walked into the throne room before kneeling in front of the two thrones, reporting the arrival of Zhang Fei and the five women. ”Emperor and Empress, four of them are from the fox race, but I can’t recognize their fox race. One other woman seems to be from the dragon race, and she seems to be a light dragon.”

The two people were shocked after they heard about Zhang Chen, but they were also curious about Zhang Fei and the other three women because the fox race was rarely seen in the Paradise Realm, and no one knew their location because the Illusion Spirit Fox Domain had long disappeared from their realm.

From his appearance, the emperor of the demihuman race was clearly a mixed descendant of a human and a fire dragon, and he was much larger when compared to human men. His body closely resembles that of a fire dragon; his head has the features of a dragon, including sharp teeth in his mouth. His muscular hands resembled dragon claws, as did his feet. He possessed two large wings folded neatly behind his back and a dragon tail continuously swayed at his hips.

Meanwhile, the empress of the demihuman race had a mixed appearance between human and bird, but it was unclear what type of bird bloodline she had, and she had a tall and large body when compared to human females. Her head resembled that of a crow, but it also had features similar to a phoenix, and her hands were like human hands covered in fine feathers, while her legs were more akin to bird feet. Her appearance was alluring in her royal gown, which featured low cleavage that exposed a small area of her skin.

”What do you think those five beasts are here for, husband?” the empress asked.

”I can’t be sure because I haven’t seen any fox race members in a long time.” The emperor descended from his throne and walked to the window, followed by the empress. They used their senses to search for Zhang Fei and the four women in their city, and they found the five of them inside an alchemist’s shop, but they felt afraid when Qi Qingxiu looked in their direction. ”That fox woman has the same cultivation as us, but I feel that she is several times stronger than us.”

The empress nodded in agreement and immediately focused her attention on Zhang Fei. ”Husband, that fox man’s cultivation is at the 3-Sun Celestial King Realm, but I somehow feel a strong pressure from his body, and I’ve never felt this kind of pressure before except when I met those mythical beasts. His pressure is even stronger than yours, even though you are the descendant of a fire dragon.”

”Hmm?” The emperor seriously observed Zhang Fei. ”You’re right, wife. That fox man is indeed much weaker than us based on cultivation, but the pressure from his fox bloodline is truly powerful. My fire dragon bloodline is trembling because of him, which means he is a true mythical beast. Although the fire dragon is a mythical beast, I am not a true mythical beast, and I am half human, which makes my bloodline much weaker than a pure fox beast like him.”

”Shall we meet them?” The empress tilted her head to the side. ”If that man is a mythical beast fox, coupled with the power of that fox woman, we cannot send representatives to them, and we must meet them ourselves.”

The emperor nodded in response. ”You can order the palace chefs to cook some of our royal specialties, and I will send someone to meet them once everything is ready. I will invite them to our palace, and we will entertain them according to the customs of our races.”

”Alright.” The empress immediately walked away.

”Don’t forget to tell our children that we will be entertaining important guests, and I want them to join us.” The empress nodded and immediately left the throne room, but the emperor still didn’t leave the window. He continued to observe Zhang Fei because he was curious about his fox bloodline, and he also couldn’t recognize the bloodlines of the three women beside him. ”That white-haired woman is a light dragon, but she was so intimate with that fox man, making me think that they were husband and wife. Dragons, both male and female, have high self-esteem, but she was willing to share the man with the three fox women.”

After observing them for a while, the emperor left the throne room to meet with several others. He ordered someone to contact the wealthy demihumans in his kingdom, forbidding them from approaching Zhang Fei and the others because Qi Qingxiu was far more powerful than them.
