Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1422: Hun Lingwu - Xuan Meiyun

”Senior, it wasn’t Zhang Fei’s fault, and he did it because I tried to attack him.” Shang Yuelan explained the situation between them to Jian Kuang.

”You’re lucky that kid didn’t do anything to you.” Jian Kuang let out a sigh of relief. ”I can tell you that he is cruel, and he will do anything to his enemies. If they are useless to him, he will kill them. If they are useful to him, he will do something else to them, such as enslaving them.”

Shang Yuelan smiled bitterly upon hearing that. ”Is Zhang Fei your disciple, Senior?”

”Hahaha.” Jian Kuang laughed as he gave her a sword. ”I would very much like to be his master, but I am not qualified to teach him swordsmanship. In fact, his swordsmanship is already well-honed, and his abilities are almost on par with mine, so I have nothing more to teach him.”

”Huh?” Shang Yuelan was stunned after hearing that. ’Are Zhang Fei’s swordsmanship skills really that outstanding? Can he really match Senior Sword Maniac?’

”Come in.” Jian Kuang led Shang Yuelan into the Sword Hall, introducing her to his disciple, Jun Qingling. ”She is my first and last disciple, and she will be my successor in the future.”

Shang Yuelan envied Jun Qingling because she also wanted to be Jian Kuang’s disciple, but he seemed to deem her unworthy. ’I will train very hard under his guidance, and I will prove to him that I am worthy of being his disciple.’

Thereafter, Shang Yuelan began her first sword training under Jian Kuang’s guidance, but she trained separately from Jun Qingling and the other disciples because she was much more experienced than them.

Zhuxian Sheng approached Jian Kuang and asked him. ”Why don’t you accept that woman as your disciple? Her swordsmanship is quite good, and she seems eager to become your disciple.”

”Haha.” Jian Kuang laughed at that. ”There are so many people who want to become my disciples; should I accept them all? Shang Yuelan is still young, and her sword skills are good, but I have no plans to accept new disciples now. If you are interested in her, you can appoint her to be your disciple.”

”No.” Zhuxian Sheng shook his head in response. ”I do master swordsmanship, but you know that my true ability lies in the spear path, so I don’t deserve to take her as my disciple.”

Jian Kuang turned to him. ”The sword path and the spear path are actually not that different, and the principles of both are almost the same. You learn swordsmanship because of the sword intent, but spearmanship also has the spear intent, right?”

”Yes.” Zhuxian Sheng stretched out both hands forward. He used his sword intent in his right hand and his spear intent in his left hand. ”The two are similar, but sword intent is softer than spear intent, which is violent. I like the sword path, but I like the spear path more, mainly because its reach is wider and longer.”

Jian Kuang observed Zhuxian Sheng’s sword intent and spear intent, but he felt that the latter was stronger than the former. ”Unfortunately, this sect doesn’t have any disciples who are interested in spearmanship, and many of them are more interested in swordsmanship.”

”Yeah.” Zhuxian Sheng dispelled both of them. ”I don’t need to rush with that, and I will wait for the disciples who are interested in the spearmanship.”

Thereafter, Zhuxian Sheng left Jian Kuang, and he went to train his disciples in swordsmanship.

Lan Xuening, Dongfang Yuechan, Nong Qinwei, and Yin Chang are watching the natural races who helped them establish their new sect in the Twin Flames Main Domain.

In just forty days, the new building for the Hidden Moon Sect had almost taken shape, and they only needed to wait a little longer for it to be completely finished, which was impressive for them.

Nong Qinwei spoke to them. ”Master! Senior Xuening! Our new sect is already half-finished, and we will bring all our disciples to move to this domain once it is complete.”

”Yes.” Dongfang Yuechan nodded to her. ”Fortunately, Zhang Fei has the natural races by his side, especially the giant race. Otherwise, we would have waited a long time to move our sect to this domain.”

”At this rate, we can move our sect to this domain in two months, and we can start our assassination operations again.” Lan Xuening spoke.

Yin Chang spoke to them. ”Our members often ask me about when we’ll be getting assassination missions again, especially since we’ve been rejecting those people recently. They also ask me when we’ll move to this domain and whether we’ll still accept assassination missions like before.”

”Although we’ve decided to join Zhang Fei, we’re not part of the Moonlit Passion Temple, and we’ll maintain our Hidden Moon Sect traditions as before.” Lan Xuening nodded in agreement with Dongfang Yuechan. ”Yichang, you can tell our disciples that we’ll be moving to the domain in the next month, but we won’t be accepting assassination missions for now. I want them to train to improve their abilities first, and they can also cultivate at the Celestial Yin Lake to further their cultivation.”

Yin Chang turned to her in surprise, as she herself had experienced the benefits of the Celestial Yin Lake for her cultivation, but she doubted that Zhang Fei would allow a disciple of their sect to cultivate there. ”Can they really cultivate there, Master?”

”Yes.” Dongfang Yuechan replied with a nod. ”Zhang Fei and Qing Qiu’er have already permitted our sect’s disciples to cultivate there, and they should encounter no issues doing so because their male disciples have already relocated to the Blazing Union Sect.”

Yin Chang nodded in understanding. ”I’ll return to our sect now and inform the disciples about it.”

”Do you know where Zhang Fei is now, Qinwei?”

Nong Qinwei shook her head at Lan Xuening. ”I haven’t seen Zhang Fei since last time because he’s been busy with many things, and I don’t know where he is now. If you want to see him, you can ask Qing Qiu’er to contact him.”

”No need.” Lan Xuening declined. ”I just want to talk to Zhang Fei about a few things, including our sect. Since he’s still busy with his personal affairs, I’ll go see him when he returns.”

”Alright.”

”Master.”

Hun Lingwu, who was cultivating, immediately opened his eyes. He asked his disciple, who had just arrived. ”What happened? Why does your expression look so awful, Tianyu?”

”Master, you asked me to go to the Stygian Dusk Domain to deliver the pills to Linghu Minghua, but I found no one there except for a bunch of corpses.” Hun Tianyu hurriedly told his master about the situation at the Dusk Pavilion, where he found all its members had become rotten corpses.

Hun Lingwu was shocked to hear that, and he hurriedly stood up before running out, forcing Hun Tianyu to follow him.

A few minutes later, Hun Lingwu and Hun Tianyu had already arrived at the Stygian Dusk Domain, and they hurriedly went to the Dusk Pavilion.

Upon arrival, Hun Lingwu was instantly shocked to see so many corpses strewn outside the sect. He covered their bodies with qi because the stench of corpses was too strong, and he immediately led his disciples to the innermost room.

In the last room, Hun Lingwu found Linghu Minghua’s corpse, which was rotting and difficult to recognize. Even though the corpse was difficult to recognize, he could still recognize the person from the marks on the body, and he was truly shocked after finding out the identity of the corpse.

”See? There’s no one left here, and everyone was killed by a mysterious person, Master.”

Hun Lingwu nodded slightly, led his disciple out, and burned the place afterwards. ”Who was their real killer? Why did that person kill them without mercy? That person killed all the members of this sect, and that person didn’t spare a single person.”

”Where are we going now, Master? Are we going back to our sect directly?” Hun Tianyu asked.

Hun Lingwu looked in another direction, precisely at the headquarters of Xuan Meiyun and the Black Lotus Spider Beast Race. ”Let’s go.”

A while later, they arrived at the location, and Hun Lingwu led his disciple into the innermost chamber, where Xuan Meiyun was waiting for them.

Xuan Meiyun was furious with Hun Lingwu, especially since she no longer had her freedom after Zhang Fei had duplicated her soul and merged it with his. However, she didn’t dare to trouble the old man either, and she asked him, ”Why did you come here today? I haven’t made a move on that man yet, but I’ve sent my men to his sect to monitor him. Once I’m certain, I’ll catch him, and I’ll hand him over to you.”

”I didn’t come here to talk about that.” Xuan Meiyun was surprised to hear that, and Hun Lingwu immediately asked her. ”Do you know anything about the deaths of Linghu Minghua and the people from the Dusk Pavilion?”

”Huh?” Xuan Meiyun stood up from her chair and stared at the old man in shock. ”Are you serious? Did someone kill Linghu Minghua and the people from the Dusk Pavilion?”

Hun Lingwu didn’t say anything and created a qi screen, which showed the situation in the Dusk Pavilion. ”As you can see, a mysterious person slaughtered them all without sparing a single person, but you and the residents of this domain seem to be unaware of it.”
